  • DONT BE RUDE

  • curious cock in the night time

  • man i had sadler at my school for a couple years.. fucking prick.. didnt this guy get expelled or wasnt allowed to sit TEE or something?

  • Comment removed

  • LOL can't believe this was almost 2 years ago

  • LOL mr scanlon, kingwell and the scottish fucker (o'kallahan) gettin him off stage XD

  • I have made comments in the past, not know the full story. I got e-mails from so many parents... unbelievable. They all claimed Gary was not grieving and that he did not even know the victims.... now a year latter, I see they lied to me to put ice on my comemnts, shame on them. Freedom of speech I say (again)!

  • thats crap, how could u possibly know that? if it wasnt his fault, and no other vehicle was involved, then why did they crash and why did 3 of them die!? open ur eyes woman. do u honestly believe that james was following all the road rules before they crashed?

  • bullshit i know nothing. from wat it seems, i know a shitload more about it than u do. how can u honestly think that it wasnt the drivers fault when he was speeding way over the limit with passengers in the car? for fucks sake, i understand that he was a friend of urs and a nice guy, but when it all comes down to it, it was his fault. lol dont blame james, yeah tell that to the other parents that lost their children in that accident

  • whos the hot chick behind him??? that was the most interesting thing about that whole speech...

  • hey all, even though gary's speach was a bit over the top i still agree with it sadler was a F**khead some times and btw iv found out from adam one of the people in the car that they where only doing 90 when they hit the jump was in the air 4 a but hit the ground n the tyre poped causing the car to swerve to the side of the n james pulled back on the seering wheel n span out n hit the tree

  • what a fag

  • this kid is a royal cunt wasnt even friends with the kids that died no one at corpus agrees with wat he did

  • wat was the exact reason why he went off at the principal though? i mean he'd have to have a good reason to balls up the courage and say all that on graduation

  • ok as an excorpus student an my younga brother was in garys year i can tell you straight out that the principal was just your everyday normal, boring to listen to but competent principal, the vice-principal, mrs sue baker, isnt the most loved teacher yes but the most unpopular, hardly, both of which did their best to handle the situation as best they could, they were not deservant of the barrage they recieved, and all up for free speech and stuff, but theres a time and a place, and that wasnt it

  • lol at least the guys that removed him didn't tase him, bro.

  • i use to got to corpus but that school is shit hole faggots

  • Gary, if you're out there reading this all I can say is good on you and I hope that you don't have to suffer the rest of your life because of this. I knew Sadler years ago when he was at another school and he was pure ****. I'm sure he is up to his old tricks at Corpus Christi - and I am sure there is a whole lot more to this story that we haven't been allowed to hear. Stay strong. And Sadler - if you're reading this - rot in hell where you belong.

  • join the army champ see what reality is all about

  • Good on him for sticking up for what he thinks is right and having the balls to do it in front of a large audience...too bad he sounded like 'Mr Garrison'...he sounded a bit lame...and there was probably another big side to the story..

  • Weren't the kids speeding? That doesn't make it much of an accident.

  • no, the other people were, that they crashed into... i think.

  • no, the kids were speeding. doing 100 and sumthing in a 70 zone. they went through an intersection, over a bumb in the road which sent them flying. they wouldve been fine with with landing if the driver didnt turn the wheel in midair. once they hit the ground, the wheels had changed direction, and physics kicked in, which sent them flipping into a tree. it was the drivers fault, but apparently the principal was a real dickhead about the whole thing

  • ah okay, cheers man

  • this guy i crazy why would he do this when hes graduating hes gona get in to so much truoble

  • dude its called freedom of speech, and standing up for what u believe in. try it out sumtime

  • Sadler ...what a tool!.

  • god dammit

does everyone in that family have to be famous??

  • This is a disgrace to us Aussies. Im sick of it. Absolutely sick of it. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Rofl Rofl...

  • Said it before and I'll say it again, his delivery sounded completely forced and insincere.

I'm not saying he doesn't believe in the cause, his passion is obvious, it's just that, as cliche` as it sounds, I didn't really feel it.

  • like hitler i tell you!

    like hitler!

  • ROFLMAO

  • Well done to this guy. All graduation speeches these days are all "Oh the school's so great. The principle is great. Everyone's great".

Freedom of speech. I applaud him. As a year 12 student myself, kudos to him.

  • That was fucking tits =]

dudes, im a 16yr old yr11 student from Guildford Grammar in Perth WA. Ive got mates that Ive known since yr 5. If 3 of them died I would be devo as. Not being allowed to voice my feelings and ask questions is one of the biggest injustice to those students and an insult to their mates memorys.

    Stress less mass-debators

  • from what i heard, the principal is a douchebag.

  • I want to say good luck to all in this debate. I am done here and I will concentrate in more local issues here in Canada and in Portugal. We still have many youth that take their passion with guns into schools, and all due to how they feel, right of wrong is besides the point. So to Gary, good luck man, to the teachers and admin, sorry and try to have meetings with proper ocasions for critique, give students the chanche to protest and grow with that. To CP and Takdawg, good luck boys, chill.

  • OK people can say anything they want to! Doing so may have a good or bad outcome. Gary was denied the right to finish what he was saying! He was forced to stop! And he had a bad outcome. How do I know what he was even saying if they wont let me hear what he had to say? In all that time I heard very little in many words.

  • that was for grand flavour

  • padrehimalaya im sorry to hear that, i dont think any of that is right, and im not a facist, but you are going completely the other way, which is just as bad, there is something called discipline and clearly gary doesn't have it that is why we have rules. Gary wasn't beaten by any of the teachers, he was removed from the stage and told that he did wrong. Thats a far cry from dictatorship and beating a kid. I dont know what is it like in canada, but students in this country have it very easy!

  • Apologies.

Catholic schools are e\relatively inexpensive especially compared to those mentioned. Typically such schools offer an education whether here or abroad such as the UK (personal experience talking) which allows typical working families the option of sending sons / daughters of an independeny education.

Anyway, i have said enough to this debate so that is it from me. Auf wiedersen.

  • Corpus Parent.

I didn't say YOU suggested CC was elite, clearly you know otherwise - I was responding to other comments on this site. I know you've had a lot to say, but it isn't your personal site, other people are using it too!!

  • dude clearly you went to one of the overpriced overrated shitwholes formerly mentioned by corpus parent, cause you have an ill informed superiority complex, ever person i know that goes to one of the more elite PSA schools is eaither a homo a druggy or a dumb fuck, so get off your high horse you eductaion was no different to anyone elses, only difference is your parents are wankers for spending that much money on you and thinking it might make u a little bit smart and maybe a little less ugly

  • Your criticism says volumes more about you and your lack of education than it says about the schools you are attacking.

  • I know Gary is not a Hero, some teachers, some parents, and Sue Baker are the Heros, for they managed to take a small incident and transform it into something huge that has damaged the CC reputation, including its teachers, forever. I made recomendations here on how to still fix the problem and your not paying attention. Do an open debate, let student use the language they want, and call an independent investigation.

  • Here is some question for you CorpusParent:

should youth vote as of 14?

    why not?

does CC have meeting with students at least once a year, where they are allowed to speak freely, including criticising supperiors?

If not, when is the appropriate time?

Does CC have a news paper or a buletin where students can openly criticise superiors?

do the parents have meet at the school and can they criticise superiors?

    get my drift...

  • Also, CorpusParent, I went to see the friends of Gary on facebook and he lost some, but gained many. And most of his friends, the true friends, are still on his list. Gary did not do much, beside the courage that many already had. But what CC did, and now with internet, GARY DID ALLOT and people around the world are talking about the real issue FREEDOM of youth. We have lost to do, like voting as of 14 and equal rights as adults.

  • CorpusParent'

And to conclude, if we are not to listen to our parents first, like Gary did (according to you) who should we listen to then(not you, your a parent)? The school or the nation. I would go with the Parents, but since you dont agree, then I would go with the Nation, Democracy and Freedom of Speech. The issue is oviouly one you dont understand, because you were brain washed. Kids have the same rights as you! If your not happy with something your going to speak, thats why your here.

  • CorpusParent, sure you talked to students and show them that its your way of the highway and because of racists and bad parents like you, kids suffer in silence without voicing the screams they have deep down. And your poor excuse about the patriarchal families is a confirmation of your discrimination. What's best, listen to your father or the school management who have second intentions - moving the school to a hight level for prestige purposes.

  • Okay takdawg, I did not have a bad youth, I was under a dictator of a regime in my country and my composition critique of the upper social class was reported. Yes I got a good beatin to. So, according to you this is Okay because they were In power. Your a facist, and I'm am better off having emotional problems about my youth then to be a facist. In schools the regime still works, in some, and at CC is oviously the case due to people like you. GO Gary GO! To bad others lac courage...

  • Grand Flavour

Catholic schools in WA are not the elite. I never said it.

PSA schools the ones such as Scotch, Wesley, Aquinas MLC PLC Trinity, Christchurch and Hale are in that category.

    Don't confuse the issue.

  • Padre,

I spoke to a number of students today about their exams etc. Some of them told me that they have deleted their contacts to gary and his facebook. He is not a hero to them.

    Bye.

  • Padre H.

Thanks! I am a bad parent! And a racist! I am not even bothering to respond to that!

You are either deliberately or choosing not to understand my comment about Sri Lankan families. They are very patriarchal. That means the father has a tremendous amount of influence. Gary would not have said those things about a female principal of a school without support from his father. I saw that support and listened to Mr. Rego senior.

Sorry to burst your bubble about freedom of speech.

  • I think someone (padrehimalaya) had a bad youth. You need to understand that we are all governed by rules, and so children in school being told what to do is no different, even if CC is run like a dictatorship, so are most other schools in the world, the principal tells the students what to do and they do it or they are expelled. Thats how we learn life skills, so i don't see what your on about with all this repression bullshit, the problem is the kids not the laws or rules governing them.

  • and yes, on face book all comments made racists will be deleted. all constructive critique will be on. search for the group of Gary Rego Graduation Speech and you will find it.

  • Look CorpusParent,

I read all the comments on various forums, there is eneugh evidence that students have something to say about the VP ditactatorial rules, and Freedom of speech was denied clearly on the video. And your comments on Sri Lanka families is clearly a racist comment. Your just trying to intimidate other youth from posting. Your a bad parent and a dictator. An independent ivestigation is needed. I read about the drugs too, did you? as a parent you should...

  • Bit of a douche really. Doesnt make him look any cooler, the school look any better and there is really not much point to why it ended up all over the news.

Nothing was achieved. I am all for freedom of speech, but there is a time and a place for everything.

(I am not intending to insult anyone, so any bitchy comments/replies arent worth your time because I will pay no attention)

  • They should have let Garry finish!? How the hell can I decide if he was ranting or had a strong argument!!! Like let the guy say it, then decide on the out come of his action!!

Where is the freedom of speech? It sound like he is right at this point! All else seem to support the hegemonic view.

  • You may not like to be told about the bullying and drug taking reputation CC has, but believe me, that simply is the case. I'm not suggesting all the kids are into it, I'm sure some are doing the right thing. However, CC has long been known for this behaviour in the local area.

  • My other comment related to the fact that people continue to describe the school as elite and prestigious - sorry, not so. As I said before, you clearly get what you pay for!

  • As I said before, you as a parent, whether you agree or disagree should at least be concerned about the obvious discontent indicated by at least SOME of the students.

  • Corpus Parent, you asked where the evidence of soooo much support came from. Haven't you read the comments on this site? I am not judging whether there was more or less support for Gary - simply the fact that considering the support shown, the situation needs to be investigated.

  • What an idiotic speech! That is pathetic, i don't see what the fuss is about. It looks like a misguided and ignorant diatribe to me.

  • Padre,

Don't bother playing the racist card!

    Canada! Nice place to visit.

Final point. It is not me being scared. I know what I am talking about as I was there.

So much for your views on freedom of speech when you are saying that parents and teachers comments will not be tolerated on face book!!

Anyway, we will have to agree to disagree. By the way I encourage free speech and not intimidation as long as it is supported by evidence and logical argument not emotional rantings.

  • For those who are getting tired of having parents intimidate you, go to face book and search for: Gary Rego Graduation Speech group. Keep your profile a secreete and leave your comments freely. Only those who are students will be kept, all teachers comments will be deleted. Only like this we will have a forum that is free and value the freedom of thought and speeck ... join us on face boook.

  • What are you so scared of Corpus Parent? That Gary started a movement that was dormant? It was not Gary, it was the CC three man that went up on stage to take Gary out, and all the parents, like yourself, that are trying to put the lid on this event. You are the ones we credit to showing us that something is wrong by the way you repress Gary. And this dormant movement, that Karl M. started reawakens... In Canada we had youth passion go as far as suicide and homicide... please give youth a chance

  • Look Corpus Parent, it doesn't seem to me that allot of youth are here on your side, on the contrary, only adults and Corpus parents and personel are here trying to blow this over, and I did not come searching, your doings has made itself into my home via internet, so what ever your doing is wrong. Stop trying to intimidade these youths and let them be. Your a racist by your comments towards Gary's family, and your should read the paper as to whom won in the USA... racism is over and done.

  • Padre,

one other point that has been lost. The point about freedom of speech.

Gary was being influenced by his father to make this speech - "to add fuel to the fire". See my earlier point about this. Sri Lankan families are very patriarchal

So much for freedom of speech!!!

  • CorpusParent, your comment about Sri Lankan families implies racist thoughts on your behalve... and you pose as a white angel and a good judge. Wow... as a parent you should demand an independent commission to study the case of repression, you should be more respectfull towards youth, keep your spirit young like you once had and you will see that the chains of age will make you a young man again...

  • Secondly, Padre, I agree youth have been made angry. I am sorrt I did not realise that 'you' have been elected by "Youth" in Perth or Australia!

Yet I do agree that lots of Corpus Yr 12s have been made angry by a poor speech delivered at the wrong time when they should have had a great speech celebrating the fact that they as a year group had just got through a most terrible time in their lives.

They did not need such a poor and thoughtless speech prior to their exams.

  • Thanks Padre Himilaya !

What a rambling and diorganised speech - see my original comments about Gary's willingness to improve his speeches when even members of his own homeoom were laughing at his overtly theatrical style.

  • Gary Rego Graduation Speech (hope someone fill the blancs)

Leavers of 2008, has bee a most horrific year in the whole entire history of Corpus Christi College, when we lost three of our most love-nests in a tragic accident. We, as the school leavers, stretched our patience and consolations to the widest possible limit, in consoling ourselves and families involved.

  • It is really sad for us that at this emotional moment of our graduation dinner our principal, Sadler, should be holidaying and watching cricket in a far way land. So, (...) to add fuel to the fire, (...) trust upon us, as the acting principal, but friends, some may consider it a bad omen, but let it not get (...) because tomorrow is another day, we will rise from the ashes and build a better tomorrow.

  • We will show to the world, that in the face of adversity, we have self achieved opportunity, and we will of all that is beautiful and wonderful. And, we will always keep the memories of our three beautiful decocted mates, Jence, Rosie, and Braden (...), all through our whole entire lives.

  • Today, as the leavers of 2008, we can proudly say that we are more experienced to face the hardships of life than any leaver in the whole history of Corpus. We know what tragedy is, how to console and be consoled. We know what it means to be under the authoritarian and dictatorial rule thanks to Sue Baker and (...), in trying to gout the freedom of speech, thought, and expression at Corpus Christi.

  • What more do you want as experience, (...) do not be afraid, we are the leavers of 2008 and we will take the full ride home (one man goes up on the stage and blocks the microphone with his hand) (...) freedom of conscience (...) (two other man come on stage, one puts his hands on Gary, one on the chest and another on the shoulder, and they escort him down from the stage).

  • So my message to all youth in this forum is simple, keep up good strong arguments that go towards the real problem, one that is a world problem, that of repression and control of freedom of speech. Don't be intimidated by parents and speak you mind. Be respectfull but expose the truths. We need to know more information on what types of Control Where going on at CC. We want to know the changes this VP brought to put kids into her control and etiquete?

  • Having parents come on this forum and telling us, the whole world to let it go... imagine people, not only they repress kids in their school, now they want to repress all of us and our freedom of speech. Again, the video is up, we have played it over and over, typed up his speech even, and nothing is wrong with his speech. It is a caring speech that builds on youth confidence. It criticises the Principal and VP, so what? Get over it, freedom of speech is just that. Shouldn,t had removed him...

  • It is sure now that people are using stronger arguments, and not going away. There is eneugh evidence that and investigation is needed and the parents should take this as a way out. The post fact repression has made youth angry and they are not going to open up to some joe blow of a dictator parent like Corpus Parent, but that does not mean they will not participate in some anominous forum... if my kid was in this school I would demand an independent investigation to the alegations.

  • Corpus Parent - what do you mean where is my evidence for so much support.? Even if %100 of CCC jump on the a/principals bandwagon of ostracization and people like you join the unintelligent throngs who sprout persecution and villification of a young 17 year old it is still completely and utterly wrong....

  • Where is your evidence for sooooooo much support?

I tell it as it was as I was there.

I send my childrem to Corpus for the all round education that the school offers.

As I said, the students I have spoken are ashamed of the comments from Gary Rego.Bad reputation about drug use and bullying! think again!

By the way - ostracism and villification - CCC has a sound reputation for serving, and I repeat seving the needs of disadvantaged students and those who need educational support.

  • Not anymore......

  • typo - the staff thinking of.

Gary's comments were extremely contraversial and perhaps inappropriate, however, he has too much support to ignore the sentiment behind the speech. What is going on at CC? It definitely needs to be investigated further. If I was a parent, I'd be worried.

  • One question - if there is so much criticism of Gary amongst staff, students and parents, WHY on earth was he elected HB? Other comments suggest it was "a joke". If so, what were the thinking of, allowing it to go ahead? Surely by Yr 12 this would be obvious.

  • ...as we forgive those who trespass against us....yeah...right....got it...

  • Further...Corpus Parent...tell me why most of the responses about gary, many who claim to be of CCC background or students, are SOOOOO into villification, ostracization and persecution...it is supposed to be a Christian School..THAT is the hilarious part in all of this...is this the core ethos of CCC....

  • Sorry to have to point out these painful truths......

  • Corpus Parent - tell me exactly what it was that he said that was SOOOOOO offensive to you..principal was not there and should have been...teachers and principals are authoritarian and dicatorial by nature..they have to be...especially in schools like CCC...he did not speak ill of the deceased...on the contrary...what IS the problem...sounds to me like where there is smoke there is fire..the more you and others try and sweep it under the carpet the worse it will get...sort it out...

  • In addition, Corpus has long had a bad repution for bullying and drug use, which the staff seem to have been unable to resolve. Basically, you get what you pay for, which isn't very much!!

  • In fact it isn't even a 2nd rate private school, it's actually barely a

3rd rate one. There is no selection of pupils involved, merely that you are prepared to pay the minute proportion of the fees, charged by the more prestigious private schools in Perth. The school only serves to make parents of the kids sent there feel they are a cut above parents of kids attending public schools, when in fact there is zero prestige involved in going to Corpus Christi.

  • I've read with some amusement the variety of comments on this site. The funniest thing is that some people seem to think that Corpus Christi is in some way a select and elite private school.

  • thank you corpus parent, that is exactly what everyone needs to realise, the simple truth, the kid was a dick!!!!

  • he sounds and looks like a poorcunt

  • This is not about the question of freedom of speech or of teachers being Gestapo agents, or an abuse of power by school authorities, or Private versus Public Schools, or PTSD as Gary was not overly close to any of the three pupils. - It is a question about his speech being appropriate to the Corpus Parents and Students given their experiences in the latter part of their final year.

Unfortunately Gary forgot this essential point.

  • I find it hard to believe that in this dane age a bomber like this can make it through the stringent selection process of our esteemed PRIVATE schools. The cunning of these insidious pests can not be underestimated and far less tolerated. Take you Jihad rant to the cave's of Afghanistan you ineloquent rag head cunt

  • For those who have said that Corpus have not helped Gary or the students enough well, I disagree as a Parent.

Teachers at Corpus and the School Counsellor gave a lot of professional help to those who were distressed. I am not going to mention the name of his Homeroom Teacher as he in particular gave a lot of advice on how to deal with the tragedy.

  • Parents were supporting and clapping the actions of Mr. Scanlon on stage as the speech was inappropriate for the occasion. Gary was escorted out of the ballroom where he faced the wrath of several parents and was only congratulated on making a fine speech by his father. Gary's mother was close to tears. His father was belligerent but several teachers who diffused the situation.

  • Furthermore, I am speaking as I was there. Gary was booed off stage by the parents and the remarks that people here are from the Corpus parents and students. I have spoken to many of the students who were disgusted with his remarks.

He had the opportunity to make a great speech just as the head Girl had done, but he chose otherwise because he thought he knew better.

I am severely disappointed with him as this whole event has upset many Yr12 Students who have suffered a lot.

  • Well of course the students you talked to were "disgusted" The people who do support him are hardly going to identify themselves to parents and teachers who are so strongly opposed to Gary.

  • Let's put an end to this.

Gary was a poor speaker in College events. A variety of Teachers gave him help which he refused to accept. His father felt he knew better and influenced his speeches. gary if you want to speak well prepare your speeches. Look at the speeches of Mc Cain and Obama today. Learn from it!

  • You would like this to end, sure... but how about ending the repression on youth? Your just scared that some guys ideas is going to affect the prestige you kid has by attending this school, you do not care about youth ideas.

  • this so so un believable, blown way out of proportion, their is no repression here haha

  • great job Gary! stand up for what you believe in

  • Intimidating youth by insulting them, by putting them down is not the way. Youth do not have the same resilience as us adults, and they will not be able to contain their emotions as we can. You teachers here, and ex head boy, and parents should be careful and more compassionate. This was so poorly handled that CC is being named the capital of repression and the starting point of the rebirth of the new movement of youth against repression, when in fact it should have started elese where...

  • The passion of youth can have very serious consequences, and in Canada we are still mourning many death due to youth passion/hate/acteduppon by a youth who felt bulied, or abused or repressed. What I see and hear in this video, is repression. You can not expect better speech from a youth. I give it an A+, but if this speech was takdawg's then I would give it a C. That is where you do not understand, its a bigger issue, one of freedom and rights, and the way teachers acted is repressive !

  • Look takdawg, like I said, don't go on attacking others so you can get you point across, that's what Gary did. I do have friends, a well established carreer and family. Sure you believe in etiquette, that is precisely the problem, you were a nice boy... What you need to see is the violence that has taken place in Canada and US due to repression of young passionate people... then you will understand. Don't forget that the passion that you no longer have... young people do... and there is danger.

  • padrehimalaya mate im clearly not the one with the problem, you sound like you have a problem with society, were you bullied as a kid, or do you just not fit in with, do you have friends?? i dont know what your problem is but this guy doesnt know the meaning of etiquette and clearly niether do you, otherwise you would realise that this was not appropriate. its obvious that the situation at his school how he makes it out to be as there are no other students complaining, so the guy is a dick!!

  • Sadler was a wanker at Aranmore too, gotta take the good with the bad

  • i think he is grieving. and just expressing his grief in a not so good way. this wasnt the right thing to say. but he is grieving.

  • This is obviouly a case for an independent committee to study this situation. Only after getting the feed back from all the students and the independent committe can we really know if there is suppression of though. What takdawg does not understand, is that this is not about Gary or Sue Baker anymore, its about how youth feels in terms of repression of thought and freedom of speech. I am almost sure the Principal, if there, would do a better job than Baker and still bring this to a good closure.

  • The ironic thing is though, that if students didn't think they were being suppressed and having their freedom of speech taken from them prior to the speech, then seeing all the parents and teachers up in arms and acting like its the start of a coup would definitely lead them to believe they are being suppressed. If everyone had not blown it out of proportion then it would have quickly been forgotten. I personally support the guy for not just being a puppet of the teachers.

  • Look "takdawg", in all my comments I have not used any foul language, and if you, the previous head boy, come here to use it and try to intimidate me, well that just shows how you were instructed as a head boy, another "follow the regime" and "secrete police" even post fact, continuing your mission of repressing others. You didn't have the courage when you were head boy eh? Well we can see that, stop the insults an behave because your still a boy.

  • so what...does the kid want a medal or something?

  • .... but that does not mean he should rant like a lunatic, and so what if the principal wasn't there, what difference does it make! I think overall panicmouse60 is right about most things, except she is abusing quite afew ppl on here, who seem to be students, and as a teacher, assuming she is one, that isn't very appropriate, the bottomline is that this guy should not be glorified he is a dick and his speech sucks and im sure CC is a great school, like most schools in WA!

  • Firstly padrehimalaya you an absolute tool, the guys speech was sh*thouse, he was trying way to hard and it was incredibly obvious that he did not prepare a speech, how do i know, because i was a head boy once and had to make plenty of speeches. Secondly the speech was incredibly inapropriate, it would surely have ruined everyones night, he obviously comes from a trash family if the guy doesn't realise that its not appropriate. The fact that some school friends died is obviously very sad...

  • Here is my advice to the parents of kids at CC.

Change the Administration at CC as soon as possible, it is a great school, with inteligent kids, and parents, and this administration (in part) and teachers (in part) need to go. Yout children need to feel free to think and speak as it will help them in the long term and in life. You should know better get organized and make an independent inquiry, confidential, with all the students about what is really going on.... then act and fire who ever

  • Here is my advice to all the youth on this forum:

There are parents and teachers that will come in here and do well constructed arguments.

This will intimidate many of you, but don't give up. Write constructive arguments too. After all, the issue is not Gary or the 3 poor souls who lost their lives, but the greater issues of repression of youth and though in school.

At University, you will only get A's if you think and write with a constructive criticims, so down with CC administration.

  • and gary sounds south african

  • panicmouse60 is a teacher ay

  • the principal was gay.

  • Hey pamicmouse, you panic for nothing. Listen from a life long politician, Gary's speech has nothing against the mates that died, on the contrary, it prevails their memory. His argument and speech writing is perfect A+. What kind of shool who attend? Go back to school, and choose something more modern that allows you to think and you will then know how to write a speech!

  • I think you need to go back to school yourself and learn correct grammar. The speech was awful.

  • i know your A teacher cstewart01!>!!!!!

  • Look Stewart, if you can gramar as good as me in all the languages I do, then you have every right to make such a claim. However, English being my 5th language and knowing that ideas, such as for a speech, have nothing to do with gramar, your just one more person who believes it is okay to repress youth. Youth have the same rights as adults, and if you feel you have the right to come on this youtube forum and repress Gary, then Gary has the right to criticise the VP at the Graduation.

  • Gary speech was great A+.

What was awful, is that the economical side of things, for your adults and teachers, takes a higher importance then youth feelings and rights. The principal should have been present on such important ocasion, instead of going to the farway land, on the mission to achieve another development for the school. Way to go Gary, I heard, finnaly, the speech, and there is nothing wrong with it, not abusive and with a modern construction that exposes thought.

  • I want to thank youtube to put this video back up. I find it not at all ofensive, no abusive language was used, and well constructive critique from this young man, so well present deserves merit. He and his mates are obviously dealing with greaf and the principal not being present was, on such an important event to all that miss the dead ones, and irresponsible conduct. The VP should allowed such a speech, CC VP is a dictator and so are the teachers who removed such a leader from stage.

  • About time some1 speaks out loud and proud!! Great Job!! All d teachers care about is covering their own asses they don't have hearts 4 d kids... speech well presented!! Tell it like it is, kid!!

    Jo Jo

  • Interesting... I believe this to be true for most teachers. I didn't take a pay cut to become 1 of them. All I can say is that things will change. You kids have copped it sweet for long enough - bring on the retirement of 50% of current teachers and get the fear factor out of schools. If a kid asks for a hug I say hug em, if your students want to talk to u at grad ceremonies and they put you on their shoulders on the dance floor get ready to leave. School is just the starting blocks thank God!

  • Well said Gary.

"What you need is sustained outrage...there's far too much unthinking respect given to authority." - Molly Ivins

  • He asked them to trust him, promised something would be ready and this was the result. The school has done a lot for Gary and every other student in year 12, and this was the way he repaid them. So much for trust. And for those that object to his removal, would you sit idly by at a wedding or funeral (etc) and allow someone to rain abuse on loved ones and use the occasion inappropriately? Would their right to free speech over-ride the fact they are ruining everyone elses night?

  • "Rain abuse on loved ones at a funeral?" - are you tripping? Or is this a Mr Burns adoration type thing Ms. Skinner? I am a teacher in Vic and not only was our Prin present but our Ex was too - they wouldn't have missed it for the world. Gary could have done a better job but that he got 'invited off' speakes volumes about this school/ the system in general. How does this reflect on CC? The paranoia factor don't look good from the outside that's for sure! And hey - who made him Head Boy?

  • To everyone that feels like Gary's freedom of speech was denied, please listen carefully to what he says. He implies this has happened to him before. Rubbish! He has never prepared written speeches although the school has repeatedly asked him to do so in order to make better presentations. His rant was because the school was fed up with his arrogance, told him he needed to prepare something, as every head boy and girl does, or he would not talk. He is an embarrassment.

  • panicmouse60.stop posting comments on this video freak your probably a teacher from corpus ey

  • hahahahaha it was pretty funny, unlucky about not being able to do exams at ur school haha

  • Also....

    Corpus Christi:

    ROFL OWN3D!!!1!!1111!

  • I think this would have been really awesome if he had something kind of worthwhile to get arced up about... i guess if he really did believe in "freedom of speech" then it's all good. Still man, kudos for the courage. People like you that we need in WA to make the place a less conservative state. It's bloody ridiculous at the moment. Nice job living on the edge. Also, does anyone find it searingly ironic how he was arguing about freedom of speech when they turned the mic down? nice job brother.

  • it's not that bad... i think the punishment was a bit harsh.

  • very harsh. they shouldn't have done it and it wouldn't have made it to the news.

    WA conservative state...

  • that was ment to go to..... look down...

  • very harsh. they shouldn't have done it and it wouldn't have made it to the news.

    WA conservative state...

  • its fine he just has to do he exams at another school, technically he still passed i think although the expelsion

  • I cant beleive that guy would say something like that about his principal!

  • This guy rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow go corpus christi staff, yanked this vid off quick lol

  • what's his race????is he really australian????

  • yeah hes from perth

  • what kind of question is that? can you actually define being Australian to a race? unless of course you are referring to the indigenous Australians.

  • LOVE THIS GUY

  • this guy is a total dick !!!!!

    lol

  • I admire that audacity of this fella, and can relate to the dictatorial and authoritarian nature that is prolific in catholic schools. However when delivering such speeches, charisma is critical so that you don't sound like a fuckwit, and i think Gary has been watching a little too much Obama... But the intention was good, and i hope the hierarchy of CC take notice of what he had to say.

  • im laughing at the teacher telling the kids who are laughing at gary "dont be rude!"

and the guy at the end who says "holy god, i got that all on video !" its a wonder that he didnt say something like "holy mary, mother of pearl !"

  • good on ya mate your standing up for what you believe in!

  • All this kid has succeeded in doing is making himself and his school look like a pathetic joke. His speech was immature and poorly worded and delivered - clearly he needs to stop watching American campaign speeches. Choosing the right forum for complaints is critical in achieving an outcome - and his graduation speech was a highly inappropriate forum. Get over yourself buddy - learn from this and never take up a career in public speaking!

  • If he can't cope with a strict school principal, he's in for a rude shock when he enters the workplace.

  • so some kids died and his bitching cause the principle is not there? who cares

  • i don not understand for one why this boy was head boy....

if he has no brain or sense of respect, how the hell did he manage to run his year group....

  • he got elected as a joke

  • storm in a tea cup

  • Point 3. Most students had moved on from the tragedy and were preparing for their exams, thanks largley to Vaughan Sadlers leadership and the help provided from the school. A number of students have had their focus disrupted and are in bad shape now because of this upstart. My daughter has had to get medical help to cope with the stress this has caused. Dont feel sorry for Gary, feel sorry for everyone else that has been affected. We, parents and students, hope he stays away during the exams.

  • Point two. The Principal was on LSL after spending 2 weeks in india at an orphanage with a group of students from the school. Before he left he addressed all the year 12s, wished them luck and congratulated them on how well they had fought back after the tragedy. Gary wasout of line in implying that the principal did not care enough to be there in their time of need. He was there when he was needed and was excellent. The kids - gary includedd - owe him for how he helped them during the crisis.

  • Here we go again: First point, Gary was not courageous he was arrogant. His referral to freedom of speech was becaause he was asked to prepare a speech in writing, something every head boy and girl does. As HB he never prepare speeches and always embarrassed himself and the school when ever he spoke. He never said anything controversial, he was just really bad at speaking. When told he needed to prepare something he got upset, spat his oversize dummy, and this was the result.

  • i fucked a towel rapped in alfoil once.

  • no matter how bad the speech was at least he stood up for something he believed in. That takes a lot of courage and is something you never see in Australian society, people here never stand up or fight for their rights and beliefs. All they do is complain.. and do NOTHING

  • Jeez, who's the hot bird behind him?

  • snobby accent? he's australian, that's how they talk. it has nothing to do with private school.

  • I cant believe how much publicity this is getting. WHO CARES!
