Shakira can dance in commercial videos but Didem s got the proper technique and who says she cant do other than belly dance find videos of her in splits and super acrobatic...and then talk.Didem is the pro here,ppl say shakira only coz she's famous.

didem is an oriental dancer and she is incredible beautiful and in face and in body!!!!!!....she can do moves that no one can do...shakira is a singer!!..she dances great but is not a dancer...she can t do things that didem do....absolutely..i ve never seen woman dance oriental like didem she is unique not like the other belly dancers and she has a feminity body and sexy the other dancers are fat!!...i like also very much shakiras body

Its not completely truth that the origin of bellydance is completely arabic. Its more likely that it was different moving people (gypsies) that brought the dance and inspired the dance to develop in the middle-east. Andthere are many different styles of bellydance that originate from different people. Yes classical egyptian style is arabic, but there are other types of bellydance. read some history!

Long before Arabs, Shamans in Asia bellydanced, so did Romans, So did Turks, Israilites, Iranians, Egyptians, Spanish, Greek...even Hawaiian dance is sort of belly dancing.. So it is not really Arabic..This music has arabesque rhytms that's all..Your best bet to define the origins of it might be Middle Eastern, but Middle East is full of zillion ethnicities, not only Arabic..

I think didem obviously dances better but shakira does good moves too. And I don't think shakira is fat . They both have nice body that suits there own frame. One is esmer one is sarisin :Pp
My vote goes to Shakira. Def. but the thing should be said, those can't be compared as Shakira is a singer and Didem a dancer :) But I like Shakira's style, it feels like she adds some latino rhythm in her feet. I just don't like how Didem dances, I think she lacks grace
Didem appears to be dancing Turksih style bellydance - it is different from Egyptian style. There are many different styles - She is amazing. Shakira is definitely using bellydance moves, but she is also using her own style as well. And no, the two can't be compared - hey they are both dancing their joy, and living their dream. I think that's what should be important :)
I think it should not be compared. And it's two different dance even if it's belly dancing .. It comes from two sources completely different. I can not say many things about Shakira Didem cutter but never had dance lessons .. Her only dance teacher and mirror for her .. That's what I do! I think the hours before the mirror to dance but I can not dance like her .. She has power, it is clear she spent plenty of time to get what she wanted. It is unique and this is my favorite. I LOVE DIDEM
@ARSAPNAL Bellydance in Egypt is restricted by lawl" and limited ..because of restrictions Egyptian belly dance don't let performer use her body freely .so after a moment it becomes repetetive ..no bend overs ,no floor movements .they are all banned in Egyptian dance .also costumes are restricted ..Dance and limits are not going very well..Turkish dance is more energetic and free spirited,vary in moves etc
Shakira moves are quite good but there are limitions she cant freestyle she repeats her bellydancemoves a lot..While didem can do a drum solo like no other didem bellydancemoves are more stronger,better,smoother and she doesnt repeat them like shakira does...No offense Shakira is pretty good but Didem murders her in a second Didem is a much better bellydancer by far, people can try to imitate Shakira but Didem you need skills to dance like her..So didem handsdown

@salvear92 Shakira Shakira Im a dancer myself I all have to say is her movements are hypnotic and beyond sexy She has mad skills that ppl only could dream about for example The snakemovements that she does perfectly she isolates her stomachmuscles,ribsmuscles and hipsmuscles at the same the time. To disclocate,isolate,shake,roll,move and do it perfectly is not easy.

Didem is a better bellydancer, does not have a full figure body. missing the hips and pretty much all the good stuff. Shakira has the anvantage of the body, and voice, but her bellydance moves are very simple vs Didems.
strong and muscular and awesome, everyone look at recent didem, fake tan, bleached bright blonde hair, extensions, botox, nose job, lip injections, breast enlargement implants...and still can't dance. Shakira is natural born beauty

I really don't think it's fair to compare the two. Even though I'm a huge fan of Shakira and I adore Didem, they have their own individual styles, both of which I find amazing.

Whoever did this portrayed accurately and you can see how Shakira is superior in all ways... most of all in dance, but of course in beauty and shape also. There is no comparison to the beautiful Shakira and a scarecrow.
Just because she is skinny doe not mean she doesn't have curves and you can't compare their dancing because it is completely different styles. Plus Shakira doesn't really bellydance she just incorporates some moves to her music.

Whoever did this video was being strategic. They put average performances of Didem who can fkn bellydance. Shakira cant bellydance the way Didem does as Shakira just does some snake movements and a bit of hip shaking and its always the same shit where as Didem does all these different movements in all her performances if you dare to watch them. Didem all the way even though I love Shakira, Didem puts her on show! Sorry Shakira lovers!!!

My vote goes to Shakira. Def. but the thing should be said, those can't be compared as Shakira is a singer and Didem a dancer :) But I like Shakira's style, it feels like she adds some latino rhythm in her feet. I just don't like how Didem dances, I think she lacks grace

Didem appears to be dancing Turksih style bellydance - it is different from Egyptian style. There are many different styles - She is amazing. Shakira is definitely using bellydance moves, but she is also using her own style as well. And no, the two can't be compared - hey they are both dancing their joy, and living their dream. I think that's what should be important :)

I think it should not be compared. And it's two different dance even if it's belly dancing .. It comes from two sources completely different. I can not say many things about Shakira Didem cutter but never had dance lessons .. Her only dance teacher and mirror for her .. That's what I do! I think the hours before the mirror to dance but I can not dance like her .. She has power, it is clear she spent plenty of time to get what she wanted. It is unique and this is my favorite. I LOVE DIDEM

I don't like how Didem dances..yes she can use all her muscles and it's a rare talent but has not the grace of bellydancing.
Shakira uses some bellydance moves but shi isn't a bellydancer..her dance is a combination of bellydance and mexican dances...
Bellydance in Egypt is much different and more beautiful

@ARSAPNAL Bellydance in Egypt is restricted by lawl" and limited ..because of restrictions Egyptian belly dance don't let performer use her body freely .so after a moment it becomes repetetive ..no bend overs ,no floor movements .they are all banned in Egyptian dance .also costumes are restricted ..Dance and limits are not going very well..Turkish dance is more energetic and free spirited,vary in moves etc

Shakira moves are quite good but there are limitions she cant freestyle she repeats her bellydancemoves a lot..While didem can do a drum solo like no other didem bellydancemoves are more stronger,better,smoother and she doesnt repeat them like shakira does...No offense Shakira is pretty good but Didem murders her in a second Didem is a much better bellydancer by far, people can try to imitate Shakira but Didem you need skills to dance like her..So didem handsdown

To disclocate,isolate,shake,roll,move and do it perfectly is not easy.

Didem is a better bellydancer, does not have a full figure body. missing the hips and pretty much all the good stuff. Shakira has the anvantage of the body, and voice, but her bellydance moves are very simple vs Didems.

Whoever did this video was being strategic. They put average performances of Didem who can fkn bellydance. Shakira cant bellydance the way Didem does as Shakira just does some snake movements and a bit of hip shaking and its always the same shit where as Didem does all these different movements in all her performances if you dare to watch them. Didem all the way even though I love Shakira, Didem puts her on show! Sorry Shakira lovers!!!
