  • Isn't it more than just being called? What about being called, examined and ordained? All the men given as examples of open air preachers in this video were called office holders. Today we have people feeling the call to be preachers like American Idol contestants feel the call to be singers. They rush out declaring themselves preachers and what we get as a result is street screechers. One can't declare themselves a preacher anymore than declaring themselves a police officer.

  • your youtube feed just had an ad for Mormons ahead of a clip. Is this wise? Is the ad revenue worth it?

  • amen

  • ...Then you also have equal responsibility in discipling them in their growth and walk with Christ as well. Don't make them say the "sinner's prayer" and then ditch them to fight for their own, the demons will tear that person apart. Granted, their are certain gifts for certain Christians, however, discipleship was a universal command for all of us from Jesus. Himself. So, don't take soap box preaching to heart if you don't take the rest of Scripture to heart.

  • Contextualization is key. Do we wear togas and sandals as well? I don't mean to sound arrogant, but in reality, the Bible doesn't say go out in the streets and preach the gospel, it says something more like go into all the world and make disciples. So, what happens after these people hear the message and get saved? Do you take them to Organic Church and introduce them to the church? I believe if you take on the responsibility of preaching God's word and guiding people to listen to the Spirit...

  • Christianity should be about spreading the gospel, condemning wrongs and highlighting the power of Jehovah. There should be no compromise, not even in the face of widespread opposition of the public. Better to be right in the sight of God then in the sight of man.

  • @randyoa amen

  • For years I have been handing out Gospel Cards in St. Louis everywhere I go. I supply in the pulpit sometimes when pastors are out of town. I have posted some preaching & teaching videos on YouTube. Lately, I have been preaching on the streets of St. Louis. There are many people who haven’t been to church in a long time. They need to hear about the historical resurrection of Jesus again. Your videos are an inspiration to me. Thanks, in Jesus’ name.

  • @WayneVA1 amen! don't stop!

  • Thanks brother!

  • We all need to truely ask ourselves, if we truely love the Lord and He is in our life. Are we will to do as He says or are we just speak and not walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Christ gave us so much of himself, shouldn't we do the same and lay down our life for Him?..How can we share the love and warning which apostles have lay out for us to do, when we should go and do them. Christ alone deserve all our glory and praise, by doing what he has call us to do. Preach the Gospel.

  • let me tell you by experience, 99.999% of you Christians will not step foot out of your house tomorrow with any inclination whatsoever to even want to think about talking to anyone about Jesus Christ. You will get caught in a conversation, and might mention the fact you believe in God, and MAYBE say Jesus one time, but as for preaching and spreading the word, the DEVIL has brought shame on Christians and embarassment to all who lie in their beds at night wanting to spread the Word.

  • @kidneybog i suppose ur speaking from ur own experience? sorry to hear this bro, but God can save u.

  • Amen Brothers. I am called.

  • As I can see by the comments, this video is going to get people out of their comfort zones and convict them. Some will argue against it, with no good reason. American Christians are lazy on the whole. Are we ready to have a spirit, not of fear, but of power and reach the lost for Christ? I pray that I am.

  • @really2k1 You've said right. We're lazy here. Not only that, we're lazy and comfortable. And even still, we're lazy, comfortable and many of us have a fear of man. The fear of man is a snare. Unfortunately, many of us are caught in it.

  • @Cyyael Amen!!!! Sadly I'll take it one step further....we're lazy, comfortable, and go so far as to twist scripture out of context, or insert our own reasoning to NOT Go! and Proclaim (preach) under the umbrella of tollerence and sensitivity for other's..Sad. I think the Lord is allowing this country to crumble (with all are Idol's-that we bow down to: homes, cars, money, sports, etc.), so that the real christians will DO the Great Commision. P/u your Cross and deny yourself DAILY, Christians.

  • Hmmm, I find it interesting that the first few people interviewed talk about how you shouldn't be acting arrogant, harsh, condemning, etc. Then they interview Shawn Holes... who preaches VERY harshly and condemningly (I met him... he preached at our school, and I chatted with him for awhile).

  • In biblical time, people were killing time outside not in front of a TV, Xbox, PC, WOW, private parties.. Today most of the people outside are focused on already given destination (job or entertainment) they are not that free like before 1000 or 2000 years, I think.

  • Churches are public too and they are open for everyone, which is one of the reasons for low street preaching. In biblical world there were no churches (boo).

  • @TheLightFollower Well.... I'm sure you mean church buildings. The group of believers was called the church, "Ekklesia", and Jesus mentioned the church before He even died. However, western civilization has confused the church for the building and this is one of the reasons why there are many reform movements going on at the moment. Though, I agree with you on contextualization. See my original comment on the video, itself.

  • Street preaching is OK, but trying to make things biblical in real current situation is not so good I think. Advice: If you try to shot in the beast on the street, be short and wise. Dont try long typical preaching (complex). One of the main things is attracting questions from the listeners. The questions are like a dark barrier on which we (preachers) should shine light (testify about Jesus and thing like that).

  • I used to street preach, and we had a lot of criticism from the evangelicals, not only from the world. A word of advice to people who see a good street preacher, if you're a Christian, don't interrupt him and start a theological debate

  • powerful video God bless you keep up the good work for God's kingdom and glory Jesus Christ is Lord Amen

  • Yup. Go stand and speak BUT understand the consequences of misleading others!!!! There is greater condemnation for those professing to speak on behalf of God....so remember that when you deceive them with lies such as claiming His name is "Jesus Christ", or affiliatiing the Satanic rites of Christmas and Easter with the God of Abraham. Bottom line is: Most have no business speaking about God.

  • Like you said: "What are you waiting for?"

I've procrastinated long enough; time to hit the streets!

  • I was able to preach with Brother Shawn in NYC last year. This year, the Lord willing we will do it again. To every person who has felt the sting of death leave his soul thanks to His death at Calvary, i ask you this....will you trade your life for Jesus as He did for you? Will you willingly acknowledge and welcome persecution for the sake of our Lord? Oh that it would be so. To God be the glory for the great things he has done!

  • I may not agree with your doctrines...

but this video is right. All Christians are called to share the gospel in some way... check out Mark Cahill if any of you want good tips/videos online on sharing the gospel anywhere/everywhere even if you can't get out on a raised platform. Stand out, we're light in darkness... people around you should KNOW you're a Christian by your actions and your words... tell them the truth! God Bless

  • ALL MEN ARE CALLED TO THIS....and anyone who argues this argues with God and what he commanded his disciples (followers) to do. Matt 28:18, Mark 16:15

HOW MUCH LOVE YOU GOT? GAL 2:20/GAL 5:24 just might get you to this point....DARE TO DIE!

  • Some friends and I have been talking about this recently. Thanks a lot for posting this - it's quite relevant for me right now...and many other Christians, I'm sure.

  • nice.

  • With so many negative views of street preaching, this was a great, quick idea of what it really is and should be. Awesome video.

  • Great video! Thanks, Lane!

  • Nice...

  • Great to see something new Lane!!!!!
