Nice harmony- very unobtrusive and blended well with the existing harmony! I personally think you made the right choice to balance the volume the way you did, as the melody should be the most prominent line.  One small thing I noticed between musicians: your A flats tended to be a bit flat. Just a thought, as I know you just barely made this harmony up basically on the spot (I know how hard that is!)
