Ha, there's a soul record late 70's early 80's of this song, and it's so much more better. This is a great blue print. The song it's self is more "Go away little boy" with a really ghetto lyrics. It's good to hear the original
HITS: Osmond 1-71His biggest run of 15 weeks ranking 1st and in pos 1 Lawrence 1-63 His biggest run of 17 weeks ranking 1st in pos 1 Happenings 12-66 Their 3rd place for 9 weeks in position 12
Bobby Vee was my favorite in the 60's. So hard to listen to his music and not remember those days. Reminds me of all the lves I won and lost. Thank you Bobby.
where is bobbys version of "who am i" (adam faith did it in uk)...also "forever kind of love" which he cut whilst in the uk in 60s...... a bobby must ,when he comes on tour to uk......
Mark Wynter;s version is great version also.Thank You.They do not sing them like this anymore.I still like today's R&B though, but most of the music of today is just awful.
This could have been Bobby's hit, but he released "Sharing You" instead of this as a single, and missed out on a smash. His version is every bit as good as Steve's, though, if not better!
@bootsamou Bobby Vee never had this out as a single, so he couldn't have had the hit with it. You may remember Mark Wynter's version, which was a UK hit.
Respond to this video... Bobby's version was recorded in March of 1962, before Steve ever knew about it. Bobby had first refusal on all Goffin/King songs at the time. Snuff Garrett, his producer didn't feel their version was strong enough (I agree) so they released "Sharing You) instead.
what a voice ,fantastic,.

Ah ! Ok. I remember Mark Wynter's "Venus in Blue Jeans" but not his version of this.
I really thought it was Bobby's voice that I recalled for this trak.
Ah well. Thanx.
