Yep, the stand up side is governed so that you cant shift above 2nd gear, it sucks at times but I'm pretty much used to it now. Its only a hassle when I'm doing really spread out stops, have to run around to the driver side... Its annoying how people often have leaves, shredded paper, styrofoam peanuts, etc, at the bottom of the can, it can be messy if your not carefull. Of course, most customers dont think about stuff like that, they just throw it in there.

LOl . I love dogs, but sometimes they really annoy me on the job. I have actually had to fight a few of them off.

One situation involved a ferocious one-eyed Boxer that got between me and the truck, and that dog wanted my blood for sure.

I used the cart as a barrier between us and kicked sand in his face, just barely got away from him hahaha.

In my business, it's the same with every stop, letters or mags or both. Saw the stop with the loose leaves, they should be bagged. And was that dog trying to get at you???

You bet!!! On one occasion, I had a poodle come up behind me and got me right on the leg. And without warning!!! I had found out later that these idiots had paid $100 to have this dog groomed complete with the bow on the top of it's head. Now I ask you what in the hell is wrong with people, letting their dog run loose on the streets after paying that kind of money???

Thats hillarious, its funny how some people let those little dogs practicaly run their lives. The funny thing is, alot of those little ankle biting dogs can be just as mean-or worse- as the bigger ones. I had this little dog come after me once and I just let him, thinking it was no big deal- didnt want to hurt him- but that little sucker ripped my pants and made my leg bleed hahaha!

Yea Eric, here's a good one, hope you like it---- We had this hot dog(dachshund) that kept running from one of the side streets, across a small main road, to this one address and tried attacking us. We told the owner, and well forget it might as well talk to the wall. Then one day the little son of a bitch bit off more than he could chew. He did his regular thing like he usually did except this time he ran right out in front of a semi !!! That squished him right in two. I'll continue this

Well, the regular was on the route the day this happened and I wanna tell you I never seen him laugh so hard. He came back to the office laughing and we wanted to know why and he told us. Even on his way out the door for the day he was still laughing!! And on top of that the owner had the audacity to blame us for it!!!!!!! She said we lured him across the street!!! My boss laughed at that one!!! Well, he's retired now, but once in awhile if I run into him we get a laugh rehashing that. HAHA !!!!

the hotdog became a burger! :( it would have been nicer if the asshole who let him out to go after you got hit by the semi! :) thats what you call a real unresponsable dog owner! i got 4 dachshunds they like my garbagemen, only O.B the fat doxie would love to attack the hopper to look for food!. but your right dachshunds got a nasty bite my brothers standard attacked a felon that came inside his house,the dog got him right in the balls then clamped down on his hand down to bone GOOD GIRL:)

eric those ankle biters really hurt! back in 2000 in korea i had the displeasure of a small cute yorkie terrier bite down on the lower front of my leg it hurts like hell but the dog hurt its own pride when i kicked it off of me like a football player does when he kicks a football. the sucker went right over a parked car into a pile of trashbags. then it just ran away yelping & whining. the dog wasn't hurt but only its pride! after that he never bit me or anyone else again! owner never apologized

mikefromnj, i would have made the poodle owner give me a few hundred bucks for the pants,medical bills, inconvience. if not !!!!!! i would hold the dog by the back of the neck & rear legs without hurting it then give the poodle a full bath in a puddle "garbage juice" in the hopper (with the blade up of course) then release the dog back in their yard! i love dogs but some of the owners need to be tought how to behave. its usally the owners fault for not training them or just spoiling them rotten

@0:21 a aircodition unit,wtf! that wouldn't last a newyork minute in N.Y.the copper scavengers would have gulped that down quick! or the garbageman would have took it for scrap. in newyork you can't throw those out with out removing the CFC'S or refrigerant. the gas is removed by the dept of sanitation before it is recycled for free? or they just take them and make it dissapear?themselves :P

You know that never gets old. I love the crusher. It was one of my favorites. Thou I liked the middle feed loader. Them I used the most. But I do love the rear loader. Then you can start putting monster things in there. I worked for Finger Refuge in Dixon Illinois. Them were good times. Evey time i see your videos it brings back the memories. That was indeed an AC unit, I didnt see it until it was too late... I had a letter sent to them about it.

The weather has overall been very nice, this has been a mild winter for the most part. Kansas weather can be pretty crazy and unpredictable at times though. Tommorow it's going to 70! It would not surprise me in the least if it snowed the day after that lol

hey I have some advice for you.. I bought a HDD camcorder day after thanksgiving. Walmart still has them at the same price of $250! but.. it's JVC and I hate it! it records in weird format it's .MOD which is an mpeg2 but why it's .MOD Idk but it makes things very difficult. and the file numbers aren't very consistent. Another thing.. I've been doing some research and have found out that miniDV are the best quality bcuz with HDD or flash it's really compressed. All pros pretty much still use DV

The weather has been very nice this winter, its the easiest winter I can remember. On the downside of that people are indeed out in their yards coming up with yardwaste to throw away lol.

The recycle program is doing very well, I have noticed a significant number of people on my route that have signed up already, and even some that have switched from competitors in order to join, and we are just getting started!

Put one guy in a rear loader, and me in a sideloader, and I will run circles around that rear loader, any day of the week!

I love rear load trucks, dont get me wrong, but you need TWO guys to equal the speed and efficiency of a sideloader with ONE good driver. I can do the work of two guys and still be able to walk at the end of the day, thats what matters to me!

good point, i just prefer rear loaders (with two guys of course) due to the fact that they have more destructive capabilities. ( i like to watch the jaws eat couches and trees).
