@Bigkrawl After my second blown egr cooler I finally got an egr delete. I'm thinkin bout throwin a programmer on but i still got the TTY factory head bolts. Would it be harder to blow a head gasket with an egr delete? Or should i not even bother without studs?

@znofxz , Typically 6.0 head gasket failure is due to the Egr cooler, With the Cooler Delete you should be fine as long as you watch you're egt's. The damn EPA is what screw's the 6.0.

@Bigkrawl im not trying to be nosey but i thought i would fill in. the head gaskets on the 6.0 blow out because of a weak head design. the 7.3 had 6 head bolts per cylinder and they never blew out where as the 6.0 only has 4. and those head bolts are also alot smaller. They stretch under continues high load and voala theres your head gasket failure. The only cure is to put in an ARP head stud kit. These studs dont stretch like the factory "torque to yield" bolts.

@alochhead1 I agree.. If you've got an engine already down building a race platform I say jump in and stud the engine. But on a solid engine for stock applications,or/w decent tunes and a decent eye for egt's .The EGR cooler is a recurring issue. The EGR cooler, a lot of times, leaks,puts water in the cylinders,creates a hydraulic effect, which blows the head gasket. But yes the head design is weak with the heads being cast iron and the fasteners thru and alluminum carrier just dont hold...

It's always smoked, the 40's put it under alot more load from a standstill it'll smoke alot, but as far as driving its hard to make it, I had a edge on an 04 6.0 and it smoked four times as much, but it popped the heads @54 pounds of boost , so I went with the banks this time
