Death brings both relief from the suffering, as well as returning to the beginning, and being able to be reborn anew. Death is a part of life, just like birth. I'm not Goth, but I think I've always been somehow drawn to dark things - music, movies, etc. I've always thought to myself "there's beauty in darkness," but I've never heard anyone else say that before.
