  • capturing stream of consciousness

  • I'm a new student at Chapman, Kroyer played this in the theater during a lecture. The experience of watching it in a theater is so much different than Youtube. (The theater being much more awesome of course). Simply amazing, I was mind blown when I saw it. Very inspiring. I wish to be able to express myself as well in animation as you. Thanks for the motivation/inspiration boost.

  • ive never seen anyone else use FX after there name other than me ... thats my digital signature ... F-x meaning Effects .... not sure what you use it for ... i added you on facebook ... thanks Michel ! THIS IS AMAZING !! Were watching this in SAN ANTONIO texas !! SMILES .

  • This is so cool!

  • wonderful interpretation, bravo!

  • ain't this type of thing in Ratatouille?

  • @MrRougeace yeah, done by this guy too

  • @bre4k00 yeah I believed he just uploaded it...

  • I hate the music. Its random and anarchic

  • @AniSiva11 Nothing's random dude. We have always strived to make sense of the chaos of the universe and we get closer every day. Only someone small minded would dismiss this as random because they can not comprehend the pattern in the chaos.

  • @somenutter69 |ohHUuhge3222DEBddsgdmjhgmg?#GH%dh*%*

If you can't see the pattern in the chaos above, then you are small minded. and if you CAN see the pattern, then you are a pretentious douchebag who desperately wants to be more interesting and thoughtful than you really are.

  • 3:19 - 3:28 was intense!

  • Incredible music and beuatiful animation. Powerful.

  • no me gusto nada, parece que es una canción psicodelica pero para llevarte a un mal viaje, si habéis tenido una buena idea en imaginar como seria el sonido pese os fue mucho la olla, tomaros un tripi y veréis como sebe la musica!

  • so when I mash the keys on my piano i'm actually creating legendary avant-garde music!? I knew I was talented!

  • I did not want it to end.

  • Brillant! Some bits reminded me of Fischinger's studies but it stand on it's own. It must be incredible to see this film in the dark, on a big screen.

  • AMAZING! This was really inspiring.

  • you are so gonna get nominated... brilliant stroke of genius... The Cow who wants to be a hamburger doesn't stand a chance :-D

  • I hope he has an Oscar, it is great. The director has worked at Pixar.

  • Very much like Mclaren, and that's a good thing. Definitely one of the best shorts in the running. Good luck to you.

  • Has nothing on Begone Dull Care but it's a nice tribute.

  • Gorgeous music and masterful visual realization!

  • Oh wow...

  • Now that I have seen this I don't think I can listen to sensology without having this to look at. And Congratulations on the Oscar nod.

  • Fantastic and congratulations! Another proof of Blueberry power!

  • génial !

  • An astonishing master piece of visualization!

Congratulations for the Academy Award Nomination!

    Fantasia 2010...

  • @Hoyrica Not exactly nomination, more like short selection for nomination. Still a great achievement for a great short, a modern take on Lye or McLaren.

  • this is a crowning achievment, congratulations on being on the best animated shorts shortlist for this year academy awards, hope you get the nomination,

  • epic

  • Oh wow. Awsome doesn't even begin to describe this!

  • kind of like those tasting sequences you did on ratatouille AWESOME

  • @wrightjosh8 those taste sequences were commissioned by pixar after they saw this: they just knew he had to do it after seeing it

  • I just discovered this and have fallen in love! I already enjoyed these pieces of music, and seeing them set to such perfectly and deliciously appropriate visuals is delightful. The second visualization was my favourite, particular the more frantic scenes.

  • whenever i fall asleep listening to my music, i start seeing things like this. ive draw a couple of them, and those were the best ive ever done

  • Holy crap. The raw emotion it invoked. It sent shivers up my spine! Some of the animation kept me at ease and other parts made me feel so uncomfortable! Awesome!

  • That

    Was

    SO

    AWESOME !!

  • This was indeed very very weird, but I liked it aswell.. The music was nuts, nothing I'd ever listen to a second time, but I love the animations and artstyle that Michel has going! I'm SO looking forward to his game!

  • Dope Trip. Salvia Style.

  • who dislikes this? wtf?.. awesum vid, u give hope to the people on earth :)

  • @mariaguz how does he bring hope to the people..? Curious..

  • @TheRiisingSun not that many people have imagination these days

  • FOR EYE AND EAR!

  • Absolutely fantastic work!

  • Great work. Reminiscent of Len Lye which is no bad thing.

  • Excellent way of working with image and sound. Like it a lot.

  • Absolutely amazing! Congratulations for such a masterpiece!

  • @aterstundar Agreed. This should be more famous.

  • Amazing!! I love the invention of the graphic choices you made, Michel. And each one is so brilliantly synched to the track both in its shape, its movement, its spot on the screen, its entrance and exit, and its relationship to everything else around it both visual and aural.

  • WICKED VIDEO;)

  • Incredible visualization of thought-provokind auditory material. This form will surely be copied endlessly.

  • oh man... I just want it to keep going and going! I was so sad when it ended.

  • who needs color, when black and white is this great?!!

  • Stunning! Mesmerizing!

  • especially love the opening Logo design and animation. Like the fantasia feel approach and taking it to a new height.

  • very cool Michel ..

  • I could watch this 6 minute slice of genius a dozen times and never get tired of it. Props to you gagne, this is simply brilliant.

  • Superb, that's a nice trip right here !

  • Fantastic work my friend!! The only thing I'd say that you need to add is a "seizure warning at the beginning for some people!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • Brilliant film! I'm so glad that great animators such as yourself are still exploring the abstract and pure form of movement combined with music. Thank you for sharing this with us!

  • Wauw this is amazing!

  • Wonderful work. So many good creative ideas. It was well worth waiting for it all these years.

Oh so YOU did the taste visual! I remember watching the movie and thinking "well hey, this looks just like Gagne's Sensology teaser... whoever is doing this must be ripping him off pretty directly".

  • awesome, work,it engages your senses with all the senses possibly made from the computer.

  • synesthesic

  • I was just thinking about this the other day, and whether or not it was ever finished. Bravo!
