  • In the early 90's my band The Blue Devils done few openings for the Gories French Tour, I was 17 years old playing Rhythm GUitar, Mike & Dan gave me the confidence to play guitar solo :)

  • this band has such a rad style!! Our band Rat Stomp has similar punk blues style. check us out! :) Listen to Happy Song and Reckless Woman Blues

    youtube.com/user/ratstompmusic

  • This Thunderbird drink must be some kind of ace blues cats serum, Seasick Steve is doing a great tune right here on the Tube about the same beverage.

  • this is the best drummer i ve ever seen!! so unique!!!

  • I need a stick of gum to keep the beat

  • I need a stick of gum

  • I wouldn't change one hair on their heads, let alone change the music, playing or singing. This band is fantastic - simple, raw and a whole lot 'o' attitude. I love the guitar playing, I love the singing, and the woman on drums is great - she chews her gum, and looks as if she's waiting for the whole matter to end so she can get the hell out of there. Understated swagger - love it!

  • this ventures deep in my batcave here in Valencia Spain, and no one gets sad. Gories are best!

  • Hey Hey They're The Gories...

  • I think that's a solid state Silvertone amp that Mick is playing! Talk about broke...

  • Check out Peggy sitting there, chewing gum and looking bored

  • @nickothompson it's called image. and this band has it. The drummer doesn't suck, and rock aren't supposed to have hannah montana at lead singer. Maroon five, nickelback, and coldplay are not real rock bands, so go listen to that.

  • @nickothompson I think your missing the point, it isn't supposed to sound polished. That would be its charm, and truth can often be subjective. In this case it is a pretty misguided opinion. If you don't like it that's cool, but I just had to reply as you offered up some of the most ridiculous advice on how a garage rock band could improve it self.

  • @nickothompson you just dont get it, do you?

  • all downstrokes :3

  • Sounds like Sonic's 'Witch'.

  • @shotto0kill Not a whole lot. For starters, one is is in in a minor key and the other is in a major.

  • sweet!

  • who needs bass

  • bad ass mickey fickeys!!!

  • they played in Detroit last March at th Majestic Cafe. your loss.

  • Ohmahgah, i'd pay w black market kidneys to see deez guys play.. that should bring kids back to detroit fo sho

  • this is rock n' roll!!

  • puta mare que bueno!!!

  • A bluesier version of The Shaggs...

  • Doesn't get much better than this.

  • MICK! Sorry about Fil's bad Absinthe in Vegas, I think that was '99... it was Bob's fault. You are a tall strong beautiful force in the name of ROCK!

    Thank you!

    CHA CHA CHA, HA!

  • So very great. The boredom, the jam, Mick just being Mick; the Gories were gods.

  • Efectivamente, esta és la muestra de que se pueden grabar discos sin apenas saber tocar música, pero si haciendo buenas canciones.

Que sinvergüenzas y a la vez que buenos eran Los Gories.

  • Ha! What a great band. I remember going to see those guys when I was on my first liver. Great memories.

  • when i was on my first liver.. classic

  • Thanks for posting that video. Where was it recorded and when? Was it broadcast on TV?

Rubendeleeuw: Did she really? Interesting (and sad). Where did you hear about this?

  • ..."left her laying by the door"...hahaha,

    my favorite line!!

    Love & respect to

    Mick Collins,

    Dan Kroha,

Peggy o'neil (who later quit playing music

and dumped her drumkit in the trash!!)

  • I will always love the Gories. Always!

  • Maybe my favorite Gories Song!

I heard about a reunion next year!

    is that true? anybody knows?

  • Simple and perfect punk blues. Why o why did they split up. The world would be such a better place if they were still together, even though the Dirtbombs do rock also, but still, imagine all of those great albums they would've made.

  • the blonde guy sort of sounds like lou reed.(velvet underground)

  • I don't think you need to mention what band lou reed is from, anyone watching this should know that, and if they don't they should get checked for a brain tumor.

  • sorry your highness,...can you forgive me??

  • Respect to The Gories from Sicily...

  • Wow. And whatabout the coolest drummer since Mau Tucker, Class. I wonder what she went into afterwards.

  • Marrying Alex Chilton, I think!

  • No shit! Somehow I doubt it, not specially because of the age difference. It would be too much class together.

Dan´s choruses complemented Mick´s voice so well, I can´t help but miss the Gories nevermind the great bands they´ve formed since.

  • At sixteen I drank Thunderbird for the first time, based largely on the Gories' endorsement. I puked.

Their glory years (1988-1992) coincided with my high school years. Not sure I would've survived the crushing boredom without those shows and records...

  • fucking awesome. i'm brazilian and knew Gories' songs about two years ago. they were great.

  • Fuckin' awesome!!!

  • Gories are GREAT, simple and concret. Thanks for upload this.

  • I'm so glad they didn't sell out. Can you imagine thousands of 11-year olds wearing gories t-shirts from walmart?

  • haha true that man.

    glory to the gories!

    unnoticed and underrated.

  • @bigwamalama they could've had white stripes style fame.

  • I saw The Gories play two times in New York City. One was at a dive bar on 14th street and the other time was at a small bar called Nightengales in the east village. It was a long time ago - around 1987. I knew they were too good to last so I wasn't surprised when they broke up.

  • God, this is one of my top 5 favorite songs ever. I love the Gories.

  • go gories go

  • What would the world have done without the gories

Sorry, i think i should rephrase that. The world would be so much better if anyone NOTICED the gories. Still love it

  • Right on! I didn't hear about them until just recently. I'm so glad I found it.

  • great fuckin song...
