@ejc45 it's a simulator or explorer but not a game. For more simulation search for Universe Sandbox, it's also on Steam. That is true space physics simulator showing you what would happen if Earth was as massive as Jupiter and so.

Orbiter has the best graphics I've ever seen about atmospheric haze. I just wish it'd support textures like the level 18 Earth for Celestia or these amazing cloud resolutions. Better yet, 3-d particle emitted clouds would look amazing.

To date, I have never, ever, seen anything that can come close to capturing the true beauty of Earth from space. Google pictures from Earth Orbit.

I have Celestia, but do not know the simulation process, or add the ships? I tried by Celestia motherload, but something goes wrong and the ships do not appear.

how did you get the ISS textures to work? I downloaded the ISS completed from celestia motherlode and there are no textures on it.

As far as I remember I didn't do anything beyond following the instructions in the add-on pack. Maybe you tried a different pack? Or there might be some incompatibilities with the graphics card. I think some textures require opengl functionality that is not available in all cards.

@venera13studios I agree, Orbiter is a great simulator. Unfortunately it is only available for windows and I prefer to use linux and mac.

This is not a simulator, just a virtual solar system model.

Well, it simulates the motion of celestial bodies (not limited to our solar system) and allows the user to specify time and observer position. In my opinion that's a simulator.

Yes you can, but you will need a 3D CAD model to load into Celestia.
