My CMMG Piston 6.8 Spec II upper works great on my LMT lower. It works like a champ, for far less than a lot of other piston systems, and the weight is also very reasonable. Now to try the tactical bacon...

I love my CMMG gas piston model. It's accurate and I like how it throws the brass at 2 o"clock. I don't have to worry about the video guy or other shooter on my right side.
@pyrolowryder I've had my CMMG 2.5 years, shot the shit out of it (up to 8 cases of wolf so far, plus probably 1400-1500 rounds of m855), and she runs like a champ. Consistent 1" groups at 100 yards with Prvi Match 69gr STILL. I love this gun. Mid-length, gov profile, YHM 5m2 brake. The gun has never malfunctioned once.
@fatboyR6 In what universe is that high for a CMMG... You want a cheap one look at their bargain bin rifles. CMMG is fully mil-spec and chrome moly vanadium barrel with hard chrome lining. They are built to last 950 is a good price bro.
@fatboyR6 Different configurations vary in price. WASP finish vs Chrome (wasp is better), gas piston vs impingement, barrel length and type, etc... Check out their website.
5.56. Maybe it's just a camera like mine the mic is HD and too sensitive, because some 6.8 and 6.5 upper has the dust cover flipped upwards when opened.
I have had my cmmg ar for a year now and it has been a great rifle!

Thanks for posting your video.

2 years later, what is your verdict on CMMG? Good quality? Durable? Any complaints? Thanks.

@pyrolowryder No complaints, but I haven't been able to shoot as much as I want. Durable, yes. The finish is still in perfect shape.

i agree, that is ALOT of recoil for a 556
nkursinskis 2 years ago
What caliber is the upper on that AR15? 6.8 6.5?
The recoil, and sound of the blast....sounds too different to be 5.56....

It is a 5.56. It's either the Mic that makes it sound like that or the echo off the fence to my left.
peteway 2 years ago
...sound is caused by the camera.
Recoil is caused by improper training.
