When you're 'Low and Slow' is when bad things usually happen. The airplane has three sources of energy. Thrust, Elevation and Airspeed. Elevation can be exchanged for Airspeed and Airspeed can be changed in to Elevation. They both equal Time for the pilot to deal with an emergency. When you're 'Low and Slow' you have very little Time. The moral here is, it's the first 10 minutes and the last 10 when bad things usually happen. If they do happen, you have 90 seconds to try to get out of the plane.

The announcer said,,,they where blinded by rain,,,lol,,how stupid can you be..that is what IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) and ILS (Instrument Landing Systems) is for. All large jet engine aircraft are equipped with these flight systems, In such weather conditions the pilot should let the ILS land the plane, not disactivate it as they did while on APP. They should have made a go-around (abort the landing), very poor judgement.

Air France blamed Toronto Pearson International airport at first, saying the control tower should not have allowed the aircraft to land in such weather conditions, what a bunch of A-holes!!! There idiot pilots was warned about the extreme weather conditions prior to approach, but they chose to land. The investigation into the crash determined that the pilot touched down mid way down the runway, clearly not enough runway left to come to a stop, not even on a clear,dry, sunny day. Pilot error.
