Uh, excuse me, but i believe that you mean Camry or Concorde(i don't like your sarcasm). Asian cars aren't lowsy unless you get something like a Suzuki. I have a 1988 Toyota Camry with 278,940 miles so i really don't wanna hear you callin Asian cars lowsy(and just to let you know, i have never needed to put any work into it besides putting in a new timing belt and oil change, and it is the original transmission).
@sweetdudeawesome reliable doesnt mean good. The asian cars are overrated thats what i'm sayin. Just because they keep goin doesnt mean there good, Japanese stop making good cars long ago except for a few today. Thats why i hate them, where is the supra and RX-7? Why no S2000 replacement. Honda says they cant afford to replace S2000. Thats horse**** they introduced that new insight and that horrible crossover they lost interest in making good cars and thats why asian cars suck.
I had a 2000 camry for 3 years and hated every minute of it. It got to 165000 miles and then broke down and was going to cost 4000 to fix so i did what smart people do and bought american
@E63isback its very good on mpg and one of the more reliable chevy's. If they were on a budget and were in the market for those things, I'd say it was a good choice. You have to look at the situation before assuming moron.
I agree with you about the management, HOWEVER, just because a car is based on another car does not mean that it's of the same quality. The Enclave is exceptionally superb in all aspects.
Also, GM cars have always been able to attain and surpass 200k miles. I really don't know where people got the idea that they're unreliable, it's simply not true.
For example, one of my cars is 32 years old and I drive it every day with no issues. My other car is 13 years old and approaching 170,000 miles with no problems other than the obvious replacements like alternator, etc.
GM doesn't need to prove that their cars last 200k, they just need to remind the brainwashed masses that their cars are now and always have been reliable.
Just because Mr. Biased Media Mogul says one thing doesn't mean it's true.
I work at a Chevy dealership. Second hand Impala's, Malibu's, Cobalts, Equinoxes and Trail Blazers fly off the lot as Certified Used units. So yes, I can say that they retain resale value.
Also, GM has new management and new marketing advisors. The early 00's are over, GM is not what it once was - it's a million times better. Go test drive a new GM and tell you me disagree afterward. I PROMISE you that you'll walk away very, very impressed.
Yeah, i love the new Malibu and the new Buick Enclave. They look very nice and i love all the leather treatments that they gave all the new GM vehicles.
Yeah, GM cars are reliable, but they just don't have very good build quality. That is the only problem that i have ever had with them at all. Now the new ones have much nicer build quality than the older ones, and i am pleased to say that i would definately say that they have just as good quality as any Toyota or Honda that they are up against.
One more think, the problem with the GM is not their cars or the assembly factories!
Their biggest problem is the management. Right now the GM is full with people who doesn't deserve to have the jobs they have. The management productivity is very low. There are no creative people!
I'll give you an example. They introduced the Buick Enclave recently. Now they say that this is better car than Lexus ES. The Enclave is based on Open Insignia which is nothing special, all GM can do is talking...
1. The cobalt doesn't count, it was not a bad car but can it be compared to the Civic, mazda 3 or the Corolla ? same can be said for the impala, I drove one and wasn't bad but Go and try the Mazda 6 or the Camry or Accord...
2. 2010 Equinox, 2010 Camaro we don't now yet for these two.
3. The Traverse was step in the right direction but that is all.
4. For the silverado I have no idea... just don't follow the Truck market.
You said "good" cars. Nothing about being better than the competition, you said "good".
Anyway, the '10 Equinox is stellar all around. Classy design, beautiful and comfortable interior, better fuel mileage than even a Ford Escape Hybrid. The Camaro is a winner, plain and simple. 29mph for the V6, 24mpg for the V8, gobs of power from both versions, great looks, quality vehicle all around.
Traverse offers best fuel economy, towing capacity and cargo space in its class. I'm not big on the looks but 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
Silverado is still a competent truck, albeit beaten out by Ford and Dodge this time around.
Cobalt is simple and affordable, that's all it needs to be. The SS version is considered by many to be one of the best performing cars in its class.. EVER.
So... Not counting Buick and Cadillac, I just named you 5 more good to excellent vehicles GM makes.
Oh and the Impala.. highly under rated, but it's undergoing a complete redesign right now and the 2011 model will no doubt be going after the new Taurus.
Dude those cars are not bad... but take a look at the competition !!!
Also the real quality will be the long term reliability of those cars (the GM models).... they have to prove to the costumers that their cars can go at least 200K miles.
Another problem is their resale value... most of the Japanese or European brands can be easily sold in the second hand marker after 5 years. Can you say the same for the GM models?
So it is not only how they have to look and the gas millage !!!
i drive a loaded 2008 malibu ltz 6 cyl.,amber bronze metallic w/ cocoa cashmere(sounds like a stripper name) interior. whats with all the 4 cyl. ls/lt/ltz models i see on the road? i guess they can't afford to be a real baller...lol
I just bought my 2009 Malibu LTZ this week. Red Jewel color, with brown/tan interior. I test drove the Fusion, Accord, Mazda6, Altima, and Pontiac G8...but NONE of those caught my eye like the Malibu. So far, I'm loving my new car.
right now i got a new volikswagon passet not the new cc one but i love volks depended good made machines i no alot u gonnna crap on it but i been around awhile from there toyato or honda the cars i really been driven my americans always had problems my link mark 8 problems chevy problems
this is a great car i bought a ltz but the 1lt is still very sharp ive had to take mine into the shop tho 2wice the first time the oil filter was cracked and the second my rotors had a sharp edge but i work at chevy and so far besides the z06 :0 this is the best car i recamend this car to evryone
I am considering purchasing a new car and looking hard at the new Malibu. Have you had any problems or issues with this car so far? I read online that some folks have had steering issues with the wheel locking up; others reported warning lights and check engine lights constantly illuminating, requiring multiple trips to the dealer. Is it as solid and well built it appears to be? Any rattles or annoyances? Thanks for your response in advance.
Beauty in Blue!_The 3 quarters rear view on the passenger side(paused)is sooo sweet. It looks like it's ready to jet down the runway and take off.Thanks.
