I like your positive atitude :) I looked through your description...you said it costed around $13.000...that's a lot of money :O mine was $1.500 (in Romania)...and my brother had an ACL surgery to...he had to pay about $2.500...well I don't know what to say about ,but the sad thing is that you can't appreciate your legs until you have a problem with it
Hahaha this is epic, i love it! Much better than all those videos of people just sitting there and going "this is what happened and then this happened next...", very creative!

Thank you for this really cool & awesome video! i tore my ACL in a car accident on 6/28 & I'm having my reconstruction surgery on 8/23... The day after my birthday! This was really inspiring... I can't wait to be dancing & WEARING HEELS AGAIN! (:
I tore mine 4 years ago and just had my surgery done for about a week. 5 days post op and i've been free from crutches, am still wearing brace though. does anyone know when the pain starts to loosen up because i cant seem to walk without painkillers?
I had my ACL surgery two days ago... I fucked up my knee bad like 15 days ago and couldnt walk or bend my knee until I got the surgery.. And now Im in a full leg cast for 3 weeks then I get that hinge thing -_- I hate this shit especially as it happened at the begging of summer :(
@bjoli198 ahh okay well iv just come back from physio 3 physiotherapists were in there with me, and im still waiting for my next operation but my acl reconstruction is satisfactory so still not good enough and i dont think the clicking is a problem
@TheMichiell but mine isnt what yours it the surgeon has phone my mum himself and said that i do need another operation as my meniscus repair has failed, and im suppose to be going to south africa in july but he said im not now, i ave been on crutches for 7 weeks and has just come off them out of my own will but it hurts bad when i walk for ages
I also have clicking in my knee when i bend and straighten it, and it been 15 months since the surgery now, but that was just the ACL that was repaired.
i had surgery about a month ago having acl reconstruction and meniscus repair. but my knee is still not straightening and i always have clicking noises. im going to see my consultant on wednesday to see what there going to do, but im just wondering if anyone else has had that experience aswell and see if there is anything wrong with my knee. im 15 and a girl and i love sports. iv been really bored and been on crutches for like 5 weeks now just need advice please.
@tayla12354 i'm 15weeks post op acl recon/men removal. I had lots of clicking and movement in my knee like you. Scar tissue builds up in your knee and will make noise and will eventually break away, you just have to be patient and always think positive, its too easy to get down on yourself. The graft they used to rebuild your ACL is very strong. This is a "leaps and bounds" type of recovery, one day or week you'll notice a big change. Good luck too you and keep it moving ! :)
I feel your pain: I had a triple ACL tear in my left knee, and I tore all my ligaments playing a leisure game of soccer with my sister. I am only 12, and am about to go crazy. For fun yesterday, I called my doctor and told him that I was jumping without my knee brace, but then I popped my knee cap, so now I have another surgery scheduled for Monday!
i had surgery on March 24, 2011 and honestly i was freaking out before the surgery. I thought the worse and to my surprise it was actually fun. Surgery is fun because you get drugged up and well you fall asleep and when you wake up, your in the recovery room. im in my second week and i can't bend my knee that much, this is because of the swelling... many people get freaked out because of this surgery but its no biggie. The rehab sucks though. Just work on it and follow what your doc says :)
HEy I am walking around now. Try not to baby your knee or your leg. If you are walking with crutches put an itsy bit of weight on it and walk around. Keep raising your leg when you are in a sitting position to build your quads. when you lie on your tummy try to lift your feet up in the air to build your hamstrings. Best exercise is pulling your feet towards your body when you are sitting on a flat surface. Use a towel to pull
hahahhahaha your acl reconstruction fails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my brace is free. im going to physio for free. my op cost me $4000 including minicus repair. :D
@eyeluvdance4ever I just left the doc 2day & they just unlocked my brace! Wonder could u give some of your tips to help bend my knee? Please!! its really hard to bend my knee 4 real!
@jazzjones1000 Bend it more a little each day. It will hurt a little because you are tearing the tissue that just healed in the scar, but it's ok. Don't be scared. Just make sure you try to push it a little further each day. Start this ASAP. Don't baby your knee. It's doing great and healing. You've just got to get it to move like normal or else it won't go back to normal. Be careful, good luck, and take care!!! :)
@addia123 I was nervous too, but the surgery is over in like a blink of an eye because you are drugged. When I woke up I felt amazing because the drugs were still in my system, but then like 3 hours later they wore off and I was feeling the pain. Just take your pain killers, rest, ICE YOUR KNEE A LOT (20 mins at a time, 3 times/day) until the swelling goes down. Start moving around your leg and knee ASAP and doing your physical therapy exercises. Good luck!!!
@karahibler13 I just had surgery on march 9th, if you go to the right place it really isn't that bad besides the swelling. I had my acl reconstruction done at the Texas Institute for Surgery and it was great, the people are very nice, the place is very clean, and the beds are very very comfortable. My doctor was James B. Montgomery, he is a badass, my anesthesiologist was Dr. Burke, he too was awesome. The surgery really isn't that bad, I promise. I was freaking out before surgery and my heart
im only 13 and tore my acl last friday ..... they say i need surgery but i cant afford to have it right now ! track starts at the end of this month nd i also have tumbling nd poms next month ! ive been crying since thursday when i found out about my knee..im scared for the surgery ! how long does it take for recovery time ? ND did yhu have to have physical therapy ?
@karahibler13 You can do activities without an ACL, as long as you are not moving in at quick side-to-side movement because you do not have an ACL to stabilize your knee for that kind of movement. My PT told me guys who bike and run can live without an ACL, but you are doing tumbling and crazy jumps so that's more dangerous. I was able to walk well without brace or crutches at 2-3 months. I had PT for a month. GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL!
My son had surgery on October 13, 2010 in Japan. He is an aspiring pro soccer player here (Japanese/Canadian) and is entering his final year from April on his pro youth team. You can imagine his frustration. Anyway, yeterday was day 100. He does rehab 6 days a week and has been going to his clubhouse for the past 5 weeks. He is running 20 minutes a day and kicking the ball now. His graft was from his shin bone and not his hamstring, so I have heard that the recovery time is shorter.
@1STB11TME it's ok, everyone's body is different which means recovery time is different. Just keep stretching, and exercising to get your muscles back. Good Luck!
@EyeLuvDance4ever Thanks...Since i last posted its much better than it was...hope to start getting active again to start loosing all this weight i put on since i did the injury :D
@NikkiAliOscar09 Yeah, I did the same and I ended up sobbing. It was so sad. You should have just shown him this video. It's more fun! I hope he is recovering well.
i lovee high heels!! but my doc told me i cant use them after 8 months :/ why are u able to do it and im not :(( for how long have u been wearing the leg brace??
@jessybell000 Leg brace was worn for like 3 weeks. i wore heels because I wanted to. I didn't ask my doctor. I'm sure he would have told me to stay off heels for a while too. I hope your are recovering quickly so you can get back to your cute heels!
i have less then 2 months after my ACL reconstruction,i felt so good i started to walk without crutches and without the knee brace,i even stopped talking the meds .. and since 2 days ago my knee is very painful, im scare if i messed up the surgery, is it normal to have a lot of pain after 2 months?? what do u recommend?
@jessybell000 That's not normal. get your knee checked. Perhaps something else is wrong with your knee. My knee aches when it is cold out, but that is all the pain I have. If your pain is more severe than aches, then go check with your doctor. Good Luck!
@jessybell000 Two Months? I was walking without crutches and without kneebrace 2 weeks after my ACL-reconstruction. If you wait too long with starting to activate the muscles you lose too much muscle volume
@jessybell000 Two Months? I was walking without crutches and without kneebrace 2 weeks after my ACL-reconstruction. If you wait too long with starting to activate the muscles you lose too much muscle volume
hahaha it's hilarious how true this video is. i've been through ACL reconstruction surgery three times now, plus a few other surgeries for meniscus tears. it's been tough. but i must say, i've seen hundreds of ACL videos, and none of them are any thing like this! (:
@EyeLuvDance4ever Did you have to wear the brace while you slept too? Not trying to sound stupid, but I honestly don't know. When I broke my foot and had a boot, I was allowed to take that off for bed, but idk because ACL surgery is more serious than a broken foot bone :)
hahah thanks for this :D I just got my ACL reconstruction done last Monday. Unfortunately, I also tore my meniscus so I have a bit more recovery time than you did. But I've been pretty upset sitting on my couch for a week but this totally made me feel better!
I hate watching people that can bend their knee after surgery! Haha. I physically can't bend mine more than 90 degrees and even that hurts so bad because the muscle is so tight!
I Feeel your pain right now im going through acl repair plus i had 2 big meniscus tears painful annoying also you are realllllllly goood looking just saying :p
@GorillaGlueFan I tore some congural cartilage and my meniscus playing basketball. you might want to go see an orthapedic surgeon or any other doctor that could order an MRI.
im getting hamstring acl recon, i am scared outa my nuts!!!!, im scared of pain im scared of surgery which iv had for other broken parts, and im scared of having it fixed then again destroying it after a while :( why couldnt i have a strong right leg!
@garyU6969 yeah im having the same with meniscus repair too, i've had 2 previous meniscus repairs so this is my third knee surgery :p it's ok though man, just think of it this way - after you get your surgery you'll be able to get back on your feet and doing the things you love. nothing can be as bad as the pain of tearing it so you'll be fine!
my knee cracks all the time and i just screwed up my knee at the end of basketball season last year and i we just started practice last week and my knee hurts soo bad i cant really straighten it out right now and im limpin real bad..
I tore my acl 3 years ago and didn't have the surgery. I just rehabed my knee. I was in a straight leg brace for 10 weeks! Once I healed, the following year I was sent to Iraq where it buckled on me pretty bad and tore my meniscus in two places. I am about 15 days from surgery and am pretty stoked! I miss the stability! Anyway, Good to see your up and at em! Hope my rehab goes as good as yours! I'm using my patellar tendon. What did you do for reconstruction?
So nice of you for this video....its 3rd week after acl surgery i m jst depressed and nervous now a days. this video really helped me a lot to get smile on my face....i wish,i may also dance like after some time............once again thankyou so much for this work.....God bless you !
i just had my surgery yesterday and i'm in the stage of sitting around all day being depressed. as long as i'm back by the end of march for lacrosse season i guess, i'm the 3rd person on my team who's torn theirs. maybe we're cursed? lolz.
@ExpiredxMilk ohhemmgee theres seven ppl on my hs team and club team that have just recently hurt there knees where they need to get surgery,, hah we think were cursed too
thank you so much for putting up this vid. it is such a spirit raiser, you have no clue. going into surgery in a few hours and it really helps ease my nervousness and smile.
@MrEladli aw no problem! good luck! you can do it and get through it :) I'm glad this video makes people happy and calmer about the surgery. I wish i had this video before i went into surgery.... i instead watched a video ON the surgery and saw what was going to happen to my knee and ended up freaking out and sobbing.... lol don't watch the surgery before heading in.....
@EyeLuvDance4ever haha i did the exact same thing, my buddy and i tore our acl's same football game same team, saw his video the day before mine, no bueno. Im sorry to hear you were depressed after surgery, should have had them give you what they gave me, it was basically a really high strength ibuprofine, i think it may have been crack, i was wired and felt amazing haha. Glad to see another great knee reconstruction.
@jaherrick haha yea thats no lie, i was wired for four hours. Anyway good luck with yours, everything will be fine, my repaired knee is better than my other knee right now
@EyeLuvDance4 did my acl playing soccer. feel unlucky as it was not my fault but because someone else did it to me in a tackle and knocked the knee out the socket. just had surgery two days ago and its not so painful which is surprising and weird to me. Doc said id have to be in brace and not put any weight on leg for 6 weeks. thats gna be tough. thanks for the uplifting vid.
@Ramadog Tore mine playing soccer too. I was also on crutches for nearly 8 weeks because I tore my meniscus two days after my acl. Crutches suck. Good luck with rehab
@MrEladli Lol im freaking out .. im going through surgery on the 11th of this month which is in about a couple of days ... Could you tell me honestly how it was
hey faith! so heartwarming to know you find someone else's pain amusing. went into surgery and contra to what MRI showed, ACL damage was minor, only meniscus tear was dramatic. i had only menisectomy, eventually, walking the next day. i am already doing everything. the vid helped ease my fears before the surgery as i saw someone who had recently gone through the pain and is able to joke about it. it put a smile on my face. your comment was also helpful because, oh, it wasn't.
Nice video. Just had surgery and it's hard to look at it as funny sometimes, but it's nice to see someone happy and active. wish you the best and quick question: how longs after surgery could you drive and stuff like that?
This vid is great! i tore my acl four months ago and I just got surgery two days ago. I get to take the bandages off today. one question...how do you take a shower if you can't put weight on your leg (i also tore my meniscus so i can't put any weight on my leg for six weeks at least)?
I'm about to have surgery... so great to see that you are moving around so well. I've been in a lot of pain and hope this will help me move on with my life and working out again.
@04sakurauchiha When I was playing dodge ball .... totally random. But I'm also "double jointed" and my legs and arms hyper extend which put extra strain on these ligaments in the knees especially the ACL when i extend beyond 180 degrees. And I went skateboarding and fell super hard on my left knee the day before playing dodge ball so I think that contributed to the tearing of my ACL too. And girls get it more often then guys.
I tore my ACL. Im getting it repaired by the best suregon in the country but they dont have me scheduled till september. I've had this injury since december. the pain comes and goes.
I planned a white water rafting trip in mid to late october... It seems that people that have gotten the surgery have some sort problem with recovery...like not being able to move it....and stuff like that.
@Raftscubaski I completely tore my ACL and partially tore my medial meniscus on March 18, 2010, doing a big-air on my snowboard. I started pre-habilitation at a physical therapy sports clinic 2 weeks after the injury, up until three days before surgery. I got surgery three weeks and 1 day ago, and pre-hab was the BEST decision I have ever made (I have video). I was at 0-degrees, 5 days post-op, and 125-degrees ROM yesterday. DO PRE-HAB!! But you can't go rafting that soon, I am very sorry!
its been like 7 months since i tore my ACL. and my surgery is scheduled for sep. 3rd.
my movement right now is great and i didn't do any rehab. I stretch a lot. and snapped it back, which was painful, but it actually increased my movement. i do have a bit of hyper extension though...but i run still, wearing a brace of course. which keeps it in place.
I am hoping for a fast recovery, but if things don't go well as i hope, i will cancel my rafting trip. :(
@Raftscubaski I wish the best of luck for you! That's great to hear you have a good range of motion, and that you can run! I wish I was there before surgery. The doc will likely give you a knee-immobilizer (like the girl in this video wears at the beginning), which you can un-lock to bend it. You can probably sit easily on a raft; it's just the bumps that you may feel some pain... but take your pain-killers, because that will help (LOL!) :-)
@Raftscubaski I worked out prior to the surgery and am flexible so i recovered faster than the doc expected. But it all depends on your body and your health prior to surgery. And make sure you push through the pain during physical therapy to get back to normal.
Awesome video, I just had mine done about a month ago, had meniscus problems to so in the brace 6 weeks. I can really relate with this video. Oh the song is pretty appropriate too.
@koolflypocket The week of the surgery. They actually want you to start doing leg lifts the day after surgery, but i wasn't able to lift my leg by myself till like 1.5 weeks after surgery cause my leg was so weak.
hey i'm 8 weeks after my op i completely snapped my ACl and needed medial meniscus repair , thanks heaps for your video its a real inspiration! , rehab is such a hard hill to climb !0
It's been 17 days that I had the surgery and the leg doesn't bend. They are trying to bend it with a special machine that bends 1 degree more every time. I can bend it only 30degrees. The whole process is really painful! I hope I can bare the pain. Wish me good luck!
Thank you, Thank you.. I am now at day 14 post op Acl/MMT ; This video really help me bring this whole thing into its proper perspective. Im going to buy the highest designer shoes when this is all overwith. LOL :) You rock for making this video. First time I have laughed about this whole ordeal. When Im down or frustrated with how long this takes, Im going to watch this to make me laugh again..:) Mish
I got MAJOR knee surgery 17 days ago. and I hurt SO SO SO bad,but only when I stand!! ugh. can ANYONE tell me why it hurts SO bad only when I STAND?! pleaseeee let me know!
umm..i had acl and miniscus surgery when i was 14 (now im 15) and i think it hurts when you stand because all the blood rushes. it happened to me too, ehen id get up out of bed it would hurt like hell and i couldent help but cry...
@AlLiKaYgb it hurts because your blood is not circulating. i got my acl and miniscus done last saturday, about 9 days ago, and after 5 days after my surgery i could not get up becuase it hurt so bad. gladly it gets better. believe me. im able to stand now
your soo cool you look on the bright side with all things im sooo impressed by the exitment you have im on cruches to you gave me good ideas thank you soo much
the only advice i have for those getting surgery... i heard it is not that bad, i heard you will have no idea the drill ever even enters your knee... let alone you have no clue when they put the screws in... i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who freaked out about being athletic, and then being crushed by a torn ligment in a knee...
it truely is depressing, but you will live, remember that, you will be stronger one day, you just have to look past the surgery, rather than thinking about only the day of surgery, think of what your future holds for you AFTERWORD! if your a true athlete, who appreciates each knee being healthy, you will be able to look past the surgery, and numb the fear with the grattitude of whats is to come...
I had my sugery on May 3rd. I totally agree with you. I called my Mom last Friday and just cried like a little baby because I was soooooo frustrated with my limitations, but after seeing this video.. Im High heels rule! thanks again
Hey, i jacked up my knee playing football when i was a junior and i had surgery and went through all that agony and bs to be where i can run again and play my senior year. Its been almost 2 years now sense the injury, i just want to know how your knee feels now? alot of cracks and pops here and there and minor pains or soreness when your being active?
@Vandangular1990 There are sharp pains in my knee if I push it too hard when i'm dancing cause it bends too far to where it's not supposed to be. When it's cold, my knee aches. It pops sometimes, but not like it hurts, just like when you roll your ankle around and it crackles and pops no pain- thats what it feels like to me in my knee.
good to see you're doing well! awesome video, im 5 months after the triad injury and im running and starting to cut and twist a little, can't wait to get back playing sport, good luck with the ballet too:)
lol i tore my acl all the way also! my doctor thinks i tore some of my meniscus but is not sure. i dont have a for sure date for the surgery but uts before summer haa. good luck for those of you guys getting yours soon!
Hahaha this is great!!!! I got surgery yesterday and have just been sitting with that dumb leg brace on and icing and hanging on the computer all dayyy...can't wait until i can dance around and wear pumps like that again XD
I'm getting a big knee surgery soon.....I'm 13 with a torn meniscus and some ligaments an loose ligaments and patrelar tracking problemos an I dislocate it all the time any surgery advice???
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I want to fuck you,, that part of the healing process lol,, I just had my left knee done 3 weeks ago, wore the brace for 3 days crutches for 5,, now careful still..

My fysiotherapist told me its nothing special, just some water in you're knee that will leave after some time.

tayla12354 9 months ago
@tayla12354 i'm 15weeks post op acl recon/men removal. I had lots of clicking and movement in my knee like you. Scar tissue builds up in your knee and will make noise and will eventually break away, you just have to be patient and always think positive, its too easy to get down on yourself. The graft they used to rebuild your ACL is very strong. This is a "leaps and bounds" type of recovery, one day or week you'll notice a big change. Good luck too you and keep it moving ! :)

i had surgery on March 24, 2011 and honestly i was freaking out before the surgery. Just work on it and follow what your doc says :)
andycg78 9 months ago
HEy I am walking around now. Try not to baby your knee or your leg. If you are walking with crutches put an itsy bit of weight on it and walk around. Keep raising your leg when you are in a sitting position to build your quads. when you lie on your tummy try to lift your feet up in the air to build your hamstrings. Best exercise is pulling your feet towards your body when you are sitting on a flat surface. Use a towel to pull

@eyeluvdance4ever I just left the doc 2day & they just unlocked my brace! Wonder could u give some of your tips to help bend my knee? Please!! its really hard to bend my knee 4 real!
jazzjones1000 10 months ago
@jazzjones1000 Bend it more a little each day. It will hurt a little because you are tearing the tissue that just healed in the scar, but it's ok. Don't be scared. Just make sure you try to push it a little further each day. Start this ASAP. Don't baby your knee. It's doing great and healing. You've just got to get it to move like normal or else it won't go back to normal. Be careful, good luck, and take care!!! :)

I'm getting Surgery tomarrow an I'm pretty nervous about it
addia123 10 months ago
@addia123 I was nervous too, but the surgery is over in like a blink of an eye because you are drugged. When I woke up I felt amazing because the drugs were still in my system, but then like 3 hours later they wore off and I was feeling the pain. Just take your pain killers, rest, ICE YOUR KNEE A LOT (20 mins at a time, 3 times/day) until the swelling goes down. Start moving around your leg and knee ASAP and doing your physical therapy exercises. Good luck!!!
EyeLuvDance4ever 10 months ago

ND did yhu have to have physical therapy ?
karahibler13 10 months ago

@jessybell000 Leg brace was worn for like 3 weeks. i wore heels because I wanted to. I didn't ask my doctor. I'm sure he would have told me to stay off heels for a while too. I hope your are recovering quickly so you can get back to your cute heels!

i have less then 2 months after my ACL reconstruction,i felt so good i started to walk without crutches and without the knee brace,i even stopped talking the meds .. and since 2 days ago my knee is very painful, im scare if i messed up the surgery, is it normal to have a lot of pain after 2 months?? what do u recommend?
jessybell000 1 year ago
@jessybell000 That's not normal. get your knee checked. Perhaps something else is wrong with your knee. My knee aches when it is cold out, but that is all the pain I have. If your pain is more severe than aches, then go check with your doctor. Good Luck!
EyeLuvDance4ever 10 months ago

@EyeLuvDance4 did my acl playing soccer. feel unlucky as it was not my fault but because someone else did it to me in a tackle and knocked the knee out the socket. just had surgery two days ago and its not so painful which is surprising and weird to me. hey faith! so heartwarming to know you find someone else's pain amusing. went into surgery and contra to what MRI showed, ACL damage was minor, only meniscus tear was dramatic. i had only menisectomy, eventually, walking the next day. i am already doing everything. the vid helped ease my fears before the surgery as i saw someone who had recently gone through the pain and is able to joke about it. it put a smile on my face. your comment was also helpful because, oh, it wasn't.

how did u tored ur acl ligament????
04sakurauchiha 1 year ago
@04sakurauchiha When I was playing dodge ball .... totally random. But I'm also "double jointed" and my legs and arms hyper extend which put extra strain on these ligaments in the knees especially the ACL when i extend beyond 180 degrees. And I went skateboarding and fell super hard on my left knee the day before playing dodge ball so I think that contributed to the tearing of my ACL too. And girls get it more often then guys.

I have a question.

But you can't go rafting that soon, I am very sorry!
hockeychk487 1 year ago
@hockeychk487
its been like 7 months since i tore my ACL. and my surgery is scheduled for sep. 3rd.
my movement right now is great and i didn't do any rehab.
Raftscubaski 1 year ago
@Raftscubaski I wish the best of luck for you! That's great to hear you have a good range of motion, and that you can run! I wish I was there before surgery. The doc will likely give you a knee-immobilizer (like the girl in this video wears at the beginning), which you can un-lock to bend it. You can probably sit easily on a raft; it's just the bumps that you may feel some pain... but take your pain-killers, because that will help (LOL!) :-)
hockeychk487 1 year ago
@Raftscubaski I worked out prior to the surgery and am flexible so i recovered faster than the doc expected. But it all depends on your body and your health prior to surgery. And make sure you push through the pain during physical therapy to get back to normal.

It's been 17 days that I had the surgery and the leg doesn't bend. They are trying to bend it with a special machine that bends 1 degree more every time. I can bend it only 30degrees. The whole process is really painful! I hope I can bare the pain. Wish me good luck!

the only advice i have for those getting surgery... i heard it is not that bad, i heard you will have no idea the drill ever even enters your knee... let alone you have no clue when they put the screws in... i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who freaked out about being athletic, and then being crushed by a torn ligment in a knee...
thatrastakid 1 year ago
it truely is depressing, but you will live, remember that, you will be stronger one day, you just have to look past the surgery, rather than thinking about only the day of surgery, think of what your future holds for you AFTERWORD! if your a true athlete, who appreciates each knee being healthy, you will be able to look past the surgery, and numb the fear with the grattitude of whats is to come...

Vandangular1990 1 year ago
@Vandangular1990 There are sharp pains in my knee if I push it too hard when i'm dancing cause it bends too far to where it's not supposed to be. When it's cold, my knee aches. It pops sometimes, but not like it hurts, just like when you roll your ankle around and it crackles and pops no pain- thats what it feels like to me in my knee.
