so? does using that tactic increase or decrease the chance of winning games? look at how crap england have been since their 2003 win when successive managers kept picking their big names and overlooking the form players. only recently has the english game deemed form a more appropriate selection technique for generating success than previous policies. there's no excuse for damaging your own chances
@GoldenbanjoDJ Watson was never in better form, nor was he a good player. Jake sticks with quality. A substandard player can have good form. But form only ever lasts a few weeks at best. The more serious thing is that he said he wanted to vomit on his bok jersey, because he was disgusted by the way he was treated by the coach, Jake White and his teammates. This after he was forced into the team by politicians, because of his father's role in the anti-Apartheid struggle.

Luke Watson does not deserve a place with Green & Gold, he does not have enough 'firepower' to make a difference in our side, he should stick to provintial rugby where his 'coaches' think he is deserved...Waton Snr belongs in an old age home!....White was right!
Luke was totally useless v.Wales. He hasnt lived up to all the hype for one test in the green and gold. He simply isnt good enough. He's a fery flashy player, but there is no substance to him, he has nothing to offer the Boks.
i have to admit luke watson looked good against wales, but i dont think we would have seen such a performance under white as he didnt want to be there
I dont understand why Watson gets so much stick, he is a superb no.8. Against the Blues he made 103 metre total gain add to that his brilliant ball skills and even his kicking and he is an awesome player. I think he is a close 3rd best NO.8 in SA and would deserve a place in the tri nations squad.
Jake's got it right. Watson looks average and miniture playing Super rugby instead of Currie Cup. Got plenty of big guns in that position, no chance Luky.
so basically he picks based on people losing form rather than others being in better form?
