What. a . fucking. message. Depressing but a strong message nonetheless. External context depends on your interpretation. For me, it makes me smile because I chose a way of life which doesn't involve the above. Grey, routine, Habitualised, Mind numbing daily grind. Eventually you die wondering what you were really here for.

Although this is the best song I know, especially lyric-wise, I don't like the video much. It starts of as a slap-com (the elevator part) and Mr Nichols is portrayed as a loser or a lunatic. That doesn't do justice to him or how he is portrayed in the lyrics. Next to all that, the images don't follow the lyrics at all, in a story perspective. I'll just stick to the track and won't bother with the video.
