  • very nice! i had 140mph out my old 2000 r6 a while bk and iv had 155 out my 03 r6. it was not that near to red line ever i think its probs good for 165 at a push. nice vid m8. check mine out on my page

  • @bikerburnout That's on the speedo. It wont do that on a speed gun. (Got the same bike as you ;) )

  • My buddy hit 160 on his '99 R6. I hit 155 on my '05 YZF600R with a thousand RPM left.

  • @sebaco2011 I got my stock '04 up to an indicated 168 on level ground, the gages are notoriously optimistic. I think the '04 is just slightly faster than the '99, so there is little doubt you got the bike to that indicated speed. If you want to go really fast you need racing leathers if for no other reason than to not have your jacket and pants flapping around so violently.

  • How did you put that design in the RPM?

  • Hey Emmons31...Where did you buy the blue clock thing?

  • non va un cazzo sta r6 buuuu

  • @alevts80 è in miglia non è in km\h

  • what are the switches above the speedo?

  • @planelvr did he answer you?

  • What exhaust do you have on it?

  • loko

  • where you get your gage at? i have a 01 model

  • The 99-02 are the same.

  • @Warioren Not the same, some engine parts were changed, like he carburators. ^^

  • @salazaR6 acually, no. The only thing they changed was the outer look and not by much either.

  • Comment removed

  • @Warioren Go to the yamaha website and see the specifications of the several r6 since 99 to 02, i guess there was a few changes.

  • @nempac its MPH

  • what a bike!! that 1999 R6 comes with carburators right?

  • r6 99-02 came with carbs. have a 99 mod my self. just LOVE it.

  • right! and u wont get a better sound from a fuel injected.

  • @tomtx06 Up to 2002 or 2003

  • @tomtx06 yea

  • what would the riding position be like for someone whos around 6 1 tall and i commute 100 miles a day .would a zx6r be better

  • honestly, the zx6r has pretty good tranny and braking but the cbr600rr is pretty much the complete package...plus its really comfortable

  • im 6ft and i can ride my 2000 R6 all day long!

  • thanks for that

i thought it maybe really uncomfortable on the wrists and back as you lean forward

  • I have never had any problems at all, if its a long run thou and my wrists start to ache i just put my left forearm on the tank and take a bit of the weight for a while, works a treat! great bike! great one ;)

  • get one even!

  • exactly what i do :O

  • I am 6'3 and I have a 99 R6 and can ride as long as anyone.

  • Hey mate I been riding bikes for about 2 and a half years now, i have a 125 well did till the engine blew up, but, I have been riding ZXR600s and Kawa ER 500, I want an R6 well obvious reason! Perfect, but wat can you tell me about the bike? E.G: Reliability? How much to fill up and how long does it last on petrol? I no bout the speed and handling :D

  • THIS FUCKED SOUND IS AWESOME

  • 160 mph = 257 kmph

    simple math :D

  • Where did you get the back for the rev clock, been looking for them all over

  • jak łapie 14 obroty to sie podniecam xD

  • Uwazaj bo dostaniesz orgazm

  • podoba mi sie ten dzwiek:)

  • if you hit redline you're maxing out your engine, decreasing its life by a lot. there's also a thing called a "powerband" and i believe if you go all the way into the redline you've already passed the powerband, so you wont get the max performance out of it. correct me if i'm wrong, just making observations.

  • Well you have a couple misconceptions there.

    1. Redlining an engine for a youtube video doesn't decrease it's life. Even redlining an engine frequently (especially a sportbike engine) doesn't decrease it's life very much.

    2. Maximum power tends to be very close to redline, especially for a sportbike engine. You want to stay as close as possible to this max power for max accel. Even if the power starts dropping off, you want to hit redline so that the next gear starts near max power.

  • agreed.

  • @captain150 a good up change just as the power drops (not before or after) would be quicker than hitting the red line / rev limiter .

  • @L4Isoside I agree, you don't want to actually *hit* the rev limiter, but for most sportbike engines you want to be as close to it as possible. This is particularly the case for the R6.

  • @captain150 lol did wonder if you would reply,

welll yeah then your right. R6 being a very focused bike an all that!

  • @captain150 1 correction with that (which actually proves your point even more), the YZF series of Yamaha are supersports, so redlining is what they were made for!

  • there's a rev limiter to prevent the engine being run too fast and causing damage

  • The acceleration seems slow because he is geared to high. Listen when he first starts out he shifts into 3rd or 4th by the time hes at like 40 miles an hour.

  • i think the accelaration is very slow

  • BEEN THERE DONE THAT

  • thats so sweet. i wish we had roads like that around here to open it up

  • You were at 155 for like 1/8 of a second. Hold it there for at least 1/2 second next time. lol j/k

  • nice vid....cool tach where'd you get it?
