The speaker continually refers to "years of tradition" as an excuse for clearly unacceptable situations. Sometimes tradition is good, other times not so; tradition is not an excuse for feeding people piss (or even pretending to). Just because the hostels always were segregated, does not mean they should continue to be. University is for academic preparation for life, not for forging a racially segregated haven of ignorance.

And I'm sure the guys who made the film were more than having a laugh with those people.

Those workers were not forced to be initiated so why is this being deemed racist?? Chances in South Africa are good that, if you are Black, the case will actually get dismissed for lacking evidence. The judical system (and police) are simply pathetic. If you get mugged, you have to catch the criminals yourself and find a reliable police station to keep them under arrest. ONLY if these are regular offenders there is a chance for them doing some time.
