  • They only reason why I don't like the LEDX's, other than the price, Is the fact that you can't sync the bastards. lol

  • luckly in my town we can have as many lights as possible so i have a red and white light bar on top of my truck ,a strobe in all the headlights and rear lights a, small red strobe in the two side back windows and two dash lights set up in the back window with a push baron the front(only uused once to move a car infront of the bay door on a code 3) with a red stobe on eachside of it(they were in the grill but the push bar blocked them)

  • I thought we could only use blue to the front here in MO.

  • A photographer with lights like that? I think that because I hand out hot coffee to the local VFD at every incident, I'm going to get a second alternator and load down my CVPI with enough LEDs to make the trooper down the road look like a cough *whacker* cough.

  • @engine173351 Notice that it says *also*.... I was a Lieutenant on another department at the time I made this video. Thanks for the cheap shot tho.

  • well you got to get people to pull over some how

  • Nothing in the side windows ?

  • and what did that cost??

  • when you see the flashing red lights your supposed to pull to the right and stop. then you dont have to worry about the ''distracting'' emergency lights .

how dare emergency responders drive quickly to save lives or property. sarcasm in case a few are too slow to catch that.

  • you need to get some side lights.

  • I'm curious. Has anyone within the industry studied the possibility that so many brights lights on emergency vehicles may be distracting drivers enough to actually cause accidents? The bright lights certainly make it far harder for drivers to see the roadway or situation at night.

  • @stewartx5 a lot of vehicles equipped with emergency lights may have what you feel is "too many lights" due to the fact that you still have those select drivers that like to pull out in front of said vehicle and claim they didn't see the flashing lights. they are there for the responders safety and that of the other drivers. if the lights are too bright for you, don't look at them. if you weren't starring at the lights then they wouldn't be distracting.

  • @jstone06 '.. claim they didn't see the flashing lights ..'

In many such cases, responder was driving too quickly for lights to be effective. People generally look where vehicles, traveling at normal speeds, are expected. Vehicles located further down roadway are not an immediate concern. However, if distant vehicle is traveling very quickly, it can easily approach before that speed (or flashing lights) is noticed. A wise move might be to limit speeds to 20mph above surrounding traffic.

  • @jstone06 @jstone06 '.. if you weren't starring ..'

One doesn't have to actually stare for vision to be impaired. Just trying to locate vehicles or pedestrians in area (to avoid hitting something, like an emergency responder) can impact vision. Further, it's virtually impossible to see anything beside or behind a group of brightly flashing lights at night, which should concern anyone in that area. Stop video at 0:10 and notice how little can be seen around vehicle.

  • @jstone06 I actually agree with stewartx5 on a certain point. I've noticed recently that with these new LED emergency lights that police cars have, it is EXTREMELY blinding whenever you're approaching them on the roadways.

  • what flash pattern is that on the 911ep td28?

  • @jstone06 Triple Rotator. I have the newer generation TDWL36 and am SO mad they never included this pattern in the newer generation of lights. I wish I could get my hands on even just the flasher unit from one of these older bars and hardwire it to a newer one just for that one pattern!!

  • cool setup i really like it, if only you had something on the sides it would be dynomite

  • very nice set up!!

  • nice set up man, check mine out.

  • deffs need some lights on the side of your pov

  • What state do you live in and what rank are you to have this set up with a siren ! ?

  • I wish here in NC you can have blue lights. we can have anything but blue

  • Pretty good setup. Try a small LED head one on either side of the truck for side profile vis. If you have a roof rack, mount one on the side of that facing out. Works great. Have them on my duty Ford Escape. Also for extra punch for the back, you can get LED heads that mount on your licence plate frame on either side.

    Play safe!!!

  • nice setup what state/ and dept u with stay safe

  • nice setup..im in mo. also down south of springfield as far as the red to the front MSHP says chiefs and asst chiefs can run reds, being im an asst chief no prob for me,but in the end it comes don to the chief and what he says is law, least in the district and the police usually go along with it, anyway awesome setup i can relate the more lights u have in this state the safer u are, people here tend to daydream alot,my setup is very similar to urs in my Ranger....Stay safe and have fun

  • u need strobes in ur rear reverse lights to add some clear to the back, white is more noticeable than other colors, n will wig wag flashers work well with hids? lol

great setup tho, would be cool if u have multi color traffic advisor in back tho

  • He also needs a little more side visibility... Don't wanna get t-boned......

  • the only thing i would change....well not really change but add.... but i noticed there is no lights on the side of your vehicly.... our department makes us have full 360 degree warning abilities....otherwise, that an awesome setup

  • how much did all that cost? i have to get lights for my truck and im thinking about going all out like that

  • Emegency vehicals in Australia have both red and blue no pov if they want you to go from home they must give you a company vehical and the public must move for them even in to a intersection if its clear as far as i know

  • In new zealand we arnt aloud this sort of thing if we are a volunteer. only the chief and dep chief are aloud them.. AND the publie do NOT have to move for a Emegency vehical such as ambo and fire truck.. AND ambulances and fire tucks in NZ are NOT aloud to have blue lights on there vehicals only police are... Stupid really

  • nobody can say they didn't see you coming. great setup.

  • ah, so this is your vehicle... ford explorer

    very nice setup!

what directional bar is it in the back window? ive never seen one so random like that, i like it

  • it is a 911EP TD28 Traffic Advisor

  • awesome

  • thats cool, but if you dont go to the incident but only to the fire house then why do u need the traffic warning lights at the back?

  • I also respond directly to scenes on another department as their photographer.

  • so people now you are an emegency vehicle and you can stop at any time

  • Nice setup! The red and blues show up great, are you a volunteer in the midwest?

  • awesome truck keep up the good work, stay safe!

  • nice... in my stace (nc) it is against the law to have blue lights unless you are law enforcement

  • Badass :D

  • Needs Intersection Lights. otherwise, awesome truck. Whelen makes interior intersection lights, 45 degree angle from mount.

  • That is beastly! I want one lol.

  • Looks GREAT!! Better to be overkill than roadkill

  • its nice but u need some intersection lights to comlete it

  • thats sweet

  • pretty sweet dude. i have been told i am guilty of overkill too but i say u can never have too many. check out my vids & u will understand.

  • danm that has more lights then the tower at my dept. but looks kool just not practicle

  • how can that have a negitive how many lights do u guys have

  • are you living in texas?

  • complete over kill... but still gets the job done. Hope they keep you safe.

  • have you ever heard the term whacker somebody with the name captivemrhanky goes around callin people with alot of lights on there pov or emergency vehicle whackers i find it rude because when your lets say like me on the side of the road helping customers you want to be seen not roadkill sorry though great video hope to see more

  • I still would probably want to put a small LED light shining though the glass of the rear passenger door of that Explorer. Even without it, it is a beautiful looking setup. Have to love LEDs.

  • Looks great, man. Maybe a touch on the overkill side in the front, but w/e.

To those that ask about side warning, the corner hide-a-ways should do enough of that. Besides, he's about to be past you, so you can look at the sweet T/A and toys in the back...

  • A dash light, HLF, HAWs, and either 2-double or 4 single grille lights? Doesn't really seem like overkill to me, looks just fine...

  • Cant ever have an over-kill on safety...

  • Nice set up!! Only thing missing is some kind of side warning. I rearranged mine so that i had some to the side. I guess State don't mess with your guys for having red to the front down there. There are only 3 departments in St. louis County with Vols mine being one of the 3, however The county band the use of blue lights. The only reason I am able to do so is because I am or EMS officer and am required to respond to certain calls from home, hence I get to use red and blues.

  • The only bad thing is...at night..you might jut blind the people coming up too you. you want to get their attention..but NOT blind them OR confuse them.

  • ...this is nothing compared to lights bars, and emergency vehicles with full packages of lights.

  • After seeing your video I got the exact same setup ;o) (with some additional side warning though)

Cost me a total of only $1249,94 on Galls ..

Great setup m8, glad you shared it ;o)

  • errr well in the tail lights....my bad

  • I've got enough lights.

  • haha at least you admit it. :D

  • What was the over all total for everything, siren included? do you know?

  • needs wig-wags

  • hey dj how much did all these lights cost you??? jw i cant wait till june thats when ill become a cadet

  • I got the exact same setup ;o) (with some additional side warning though)

Cost me a total of only $1249,94 on Galls[dot]com ..

  • Nice Setup....What type of bar is the amber one in the back...i like the pattern

  • If you read the description of the "About This Video" you would see what his set-up is.

    It is a 911EP TD28.

  • P.O.V. = Personally Owned Vehicle or Privately Owned Vehicle

whichever you prefer, when this term is used only us first responders know what it means.

  • holy crap dude that is nice lookin my crown vic has the led light bar and it does the job wat type of sire are you use it

  • hey man nice truck i love the set up i set my truck up simmaler to urs

  • At my fire dept after I was struck last year by a car my canadian voulenteer firedept have switched all to leds but our own cars can not have sirens so we man the search truch with 4 people around clock. Do you think leds are enough?

  • Thats a sharp setup you got there. Like the traffic advisor on back. Thats on the list for my car. Its amazing what that little stick can do for traffic control.

  • Privetly Owned Vehicle

  • Nice Setup. I saw a few other videos of yours, looks good during day and night.. and for some of the others on here i think some people are retartd for running to scenes with n lights and only a siren.... a siren and no lights that should be illegal anywhere. In the State of kansas here It's Illegato Run lights without a siren.

  • I can't even begin to count the number of times I've been on a highway scene and almost been run down because my service uses the minimum amount of warning lights allowed by Kentucky state law. I have to agree with the people who say the more lit up you are, the safer you are. If it gets the attention of the average idiot behind the wheel and they know to avoid me or get out of my way, it works for me

  • I do roadside assistance in St.Louis and I can't even count the number either of how many morons have almost hit me either.I got enough lights to blind a dead guy.And thats a mix of LEDS and MX7000 on my truck.

  • djm448.....from my understanding you are from Missouri. I to am from Missouri and I am a firefighter I was wondering how you can run those lights and not get busted for having red facing the front, but if you could let me know because if I ain't gonna get busted I'm gonna get some different lights for the front of my truck. I think that all states should let any True Emergency Personel run Red/Blue lights because red is better seen in the day and Blue is better at night.

  • In RSMo 307.175, it states: "...whether paid or volunteer, may be operated on streets and highways in this state as an emergency vehicle under the provisions of section 304.022 RSMo, while responding to a fire call..."

In 304.022, it states, "Upon the immediate approach of an emergency vehicle giving audible signal by siren or while having at least one lighted lamp exhibiting red light visible under normal atmospheric conditions..."

  • HOWEVER: You need to follow department SOP's/SOG's. That is where most people are not allowed to run red. My department allows it, but check with yours.

  • Ok thank you I have found the RSMo and printed it off. I was just wondering because it is alot easier to buy lights in red/blue than it is in blue/blue or blue/clear. I appreciate your time. P.S. Which fire depts. are you a member of... I am on one up around Chillicothe MO

  • Senior Firefighter with Rolla Rural Fire Prot. Dist., then I photograph for Rolla City Fire (but do not run hot to those calls)

  • The front is a little Overdone... but its not like some people who are way to over done.. The Light bars are enought and the wigs are good 2

  • Well I dont know about Rolla and I-44 but if it is anything like the northern part of the State with I-70 you need every light you can get. The lights look great man. With the way people are driving nowadays there is no such thing as too many lights.

  • If that doesn't say stop, I don't know what does.

  • Just concerned on your side visibility. Very nice, like the random pattern on that arrow stick.

  • Yea, me too!! I just bought a 911EP new version TD/WL36, and I don't think it has that pattern, yet that is the reason I bought the 911EP product, because I was hoping it would!!

Maybe I have to re-sell mine to buy the older version!!

  • looks like a copper

  • i wish you could have povs in illinois

  • Holy crap... Not exactly what I would have, but cool anyway! course I would get in trouble by my chief if I ran all that... I would like a directional bar or a red LED bar that acts as one to the rear though...

  • sorry for the double post

  • Great setup man. I got my lights at

    strobelightking. com

They have great prices and new products every day. You should check them out if you want to save money.

  • Awsome set up!!! i have pretty much the same set up in my truck i have a few 3-4 more red and blues in the back.... i work highways... super clean look too!!! stay safe

  • I work fire police in my town. my car goes direct to calls. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing! I like the set up of the back, the front is WAY overkill.

  • I would rather have overkill than underkill...

  • Me too its better for them to see you than not see you and cause another wreck

  • Or you could just put a normal amount of lights on.... just a thought.

  • although i respect your opinion, but i believe that a responding vehicle, POV or municipal, county and state, should have as much lights as possible because there are people on the road that'll look in the rear-view and see only one or two blinking lights and they'll think that it's a toy. believe me i have a mini phantom on my windshield and no one pulls over to let me by even when im blowing my horn they just slow down almost to a stop.

  • No side lighting?

  • Nice light package! I really wish i had one of these on my vehicle espically on interstate calls.

  • people who have huge giant lightbars on tiny vehicles make us look bad. my vehicle looks good, with the lights on and off.

  • what the hell do you need an arrow stick for?

  • I respond directly to scenes for another fire department... thanks.

  • No, it's not a full time position.

  • thanks for trying to bash me. People like you who dont appreciate the service.

  • Oh I appreciate the service, as I'm a part of it. I just don't think you need large amounts of lights to do so.

  • so have you attacked other departments who buy led lights on their vehicles? almost every emergency vehicle out there could be classified as "large amount of lights". But you have to be seen to be safe.

  • yeah, but not on your own personal vehicle...you're the kind of person that makes the rest of us look bad.

  • interesting comment . . . why do you think it makes other people (such as yourself) look BAD if they have lights in their cars? what line of work are you in? do you have lights in your car too?

  • amj54321, if you're not in the fire or EMS service, you'd never understand

  • I know alot of POVs that have arrow sticks. From EMS to Police to Fire to Security... If youre gonna be dealing with traffic in anyway its a huge help.

Nice setup djm, clean and not overloaded.

  • It is recommended for all PIA or Vehicle Fire responses (Anything that involves parking on the road) That you have one. There is nothing wrong with it.

  • you can have red and blue. what state do you live in?

new york is blue for fire and most every where slse is red for fire. never seen red and blue.

I had lights like yours and cost me about 5k

    with sirens.

but I had red amber and white, no blue unless I was in my garage.....lol

  • well i hope they can see u comin

  • if they can't they shouldn't be behind the wheel

  • awsome !! your lucky, in my stat you can only show red and white to the front =(

  • SWEET

  • explorer looks good

  • Hey thats not bad, if you ever need lights let me know. I sell em on the side. And they are brighter then whelen's and alot cheaper.

  • what kind of lights you got

  • You should read the discription.

  • do you have a website?

    i need some more lights.

    do you sell strobe kits?

  • I bit much but nice.I have ambers ( rotators ) here in missouri.Never get any crap for em and they are in a bar light on my truck.

  • nice setup looks good

  • Wow man awesome job with your light setup! some tail light strobe and some leds mounted on the inside of your rear door window would finish her up nicely

  • I used to have strobes in the reverse lights, disconnected them to get more power to the ones up front. And I havent decided what type of LEDs I want to get for the sides. Maybe red/blue split single talons?

  • Awesome POV. But why don't you have your rear brake & back-up lights hooked up to the wigwag system (or what ever it's called for brake lights).

  • Nice POV!

Wish we had that much freedom in NY state .

Here it is only blue lights.

  • what kind of truck is it

  • i love it when u wanna sell u should let me know lol

let me know what arrow stick u got its sweet

  • hey you thinking of getting a lightbar? Id suggest a MX7000

  • very nice setup. I especially like the traffic directional in the back. I'd bet that setup costed more than a pretty penny.

  • Very nice LED setup! A lot of guys in my area are still running halogen rotators, but even just with my Whelen Talon knock-off, people are starting to realize how much more effective and efficient LEDs really are.

  • You need to get some intersection lights in that truck. Shoot me an email and I will hook you up scott-at-crossfireled.c0m, ledwarning.ecrater.c0m

  • Hey, nice lights, I was just wondering what flash pattern your TD28 was set on? I'm thinking about getting a traffic advisor for my car but I'd like the warning patterns of yours too. Thanks.

  • I dont know the name of it... but i had to conenct ALL wires together to the positive.

  • dam nice light package

  • That is one kick ass set up

  • im sure u get noticed and i take it ur a cop cuz i dont no a state where firefighters can have red and blue here in iowa its blue and white or blue amber or blue blue only

  • ...Read the other comments for direct quotes from the MISSOURI state statues.

  • wait u mean here in iowa i would be allowed to have a teardrop amber light? hmm.. i thoguht i wasnt allowed too..

  • yes in iowa u can have amber but it wont move traffic blue / blue and amber / blue white is emergency povs and u must have a permit and red blue is actual emergency vehicles

  • How'd you pull off putting reds on your POV? Last time I checked, ff's still were permitted only blue lights in MO (RSMo 307.175)? Nice setup, anyway.

  • In RSMo 307.175, it states: "...whether paid or volunteer, may be operated on streets and highways in this state as an emergency vehicle under the provisions of section 304.022 RSMo, while responding to a fire call...."

In 304.022, it states, "Upon the immediate approach of an emergency vehicle giving audible signal by siren or while having at least one lighted lamp exhibiting red light visible under normal atmospheric conditions...."

  • you might want to rethink your setup... 307.175 says "sounding a warning siren and using or displaying thereon fixed, flashing or rotating blue lights, but sirens and blue lights shall be used only in bona fide emergencies"

  • and POV is not an authroized emergency vehicle either... 300.010 "(3) "Authorized emergency vehicle", a vehicle publicly owned and operated as an ambulance, or a vehicle publicly owned and operated by the state highway patrol, police or fire department, sheriff or constable or deputy sheriff, traffic officer or any privately owned vehicle operated as an ambulance when responding to emergency calls"

  • okay jackass... there are many loop holes out there. Talk to Gov. Matt Blunt if you want to complain about the thousands of POVs that operate everyday in Missouri. Good luck with that...

  • don't even waste ur time arguing with peoples 'holyer than thou' bullshit bro, i sure don't

  • Man your lucky i live in new york and all we can have in our pov is one blue light but i went to led's to bad i cant have a siren too. like the set up man and the siren tops it off nice!!!

  • dude where in ny cause fire captians,Paramedics, and chiefs all ran red with siren.......

  • i think what he means is that the "black hats" aren't allowed the same freedom as the "red and white hats"

  • I know a lot of vols who try do outdo each other with the amount of lights on their vehicle. We call them cuffers.

  • in nj they are known as whackers

  • I am in no competition.... just FYI.

  • When I lived in upstate NY they were niners, and here in Kentucky they're called squirrels. Different names, but it all means the same. It's all in fun though....we're all here to do the same job

  • wow your a ff nd get to use red and blue?!?!...sweet!

  • what kinda arrow stick is that?

  • Man you gotta get some in those side windows dude. Looks good, not visible 360 degrees but the front and rear are lit up good.

  • Already in the process... hard to still make it look good when I add more crap. My buddy has some on his running boards along the side, but in my opinion that is too low for lights.

  • Your POV is more visible than my ambulance. By the way, to all you siren loving ppl. I have a Carson at work, and it is fantastic. It is louder than the SVP and Whelen. Also has a better fake air horn.

  • if someone cant see you coming then thier blind!!

  • whacker much weres your q at?

  • He's a volunteer firefighter.

  • you dont use a Q on a suv jackass

  • ...actually it is in the mail. hahaha, j/k

  • nice setup indeed. what state are you in, where you don't have ridiculous guidlines on how many/where/what kinds of lights you can use? in CT, we can only use green as EMTs. no one understands what they mean, people just think we're overly excited about christmas or something.
