  • Hoagy knew which of his close friends and "acquaintances" to feature on his early Victor recordings (including Bix)- and most of them went on to become successful band leaders and jazz "legends" in their own right. In 1930, it was just Hoagy and his "pals" getting together to record a few tunes....

  • I have been in LOVE with this AWESOME song ever since I first heard it in the movie "Paper Moon" in 1973. Later on around 83 I found the record and it was even better then I expected!!! I heard it without interruption. To me there is NO OTHER VERSION .

  • What a lineup.......

  • as much as I love Ray Charles I have to say than you for offering us this superb all-star line-up version of one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

  • Lovely. Thanks so much. Defines "soul" music for the era.

  • For me this is the definitive version of this song. Ray's version is great, but somehow Hoagy captures the essence so much better. And what a band again. That lazy 'bone is so enticing.

  • @syncopeter It`s a real ALL STAR band!
