THIS IS HOW TO SEE THE ILLUSION: Look only at the black dot on the far left of the screen, but attend to the moving pattern. It will seem to drift continually to the right, yet not move to the right at all. How can something seem to move yet not move? If you look at the moving pattern directly there is no illusion. This is a motion analog of Escher's famous drawing of the unending staircase. It was made by Peter Ulric Tse. You can see more of his illusions at Dartmouth College website.

frickin a man! are some of you so dense that you have no idea how to "see" an optical illusion?!?! watch the entire thing, from beginning to end. watch the center "spinning ball" as it does its lil wobblys up and down. and let the video end. keep lookin ath the "you tube" screen that shows the whole replay button and what not, you'll see it look like its shifting to the left.

para los ke no le entienden lo ke pasa es de ke la krus parece que se mueve un poco hacia al lado pero solo se mueve hacia arriva la ilusion esta greada por las lines en el interior de la cris que se estan moviendo horisontañmente ;)
