  • good non-lethal stuff.

  • Question 5. Have you ever watched Dancing With the Stars without a female present?

    Yez

    NO taser for YOU! XD

  • If you Dont want to do a background check you should try Phazzer Taser (Phazzer.com) There is no need to register and do background check

  • How do you enter a code?

It doesnt look like there is a key pad or something.

  • @JoeDurobot press the button in a sequence to activate it. flawed but pretty smart. safer than a USB.

  • I wonder if there's any way to hack it. Not that I'd fail the background check or anything, or that I have anything to hide; I just think that way.

  • @flarn2006

There must be, but I never looked that up

For me, part of the appeal is, as a "good guy" and knowing a head of time I'll never use this unless I am threatened..

I know my taser registered to me will create document-able evidence at the scene that can be tracked back to me..

Sort of like.. I could just hot wire my car everyday and not need to carry the extra keys..

but it's a little tough to explain to a cop how it's your car when it's hot wired

  • @GunWebsites You could show the cop (or the court) the title or mortgage papers.

  • @flarn2006 There is a very easy way to activate without background check: brutal force. Activating C2 takes 5 digits. And according to my knowledge, they are probably between 0-9, maybe 1-9 or 1-10 or 0-10. So if my first estimate is right, it can take maximum of 10x10x10x10x10 tries=100 000 tries.

Theoretically speaking, I would probably try to open that thing and figure out how to set the thing activated.

  • Great review! Just purchased an M26 but this review was helpful!

  • @johell999 no the wire is in rubber

  • Once it fired, wouldn't the entire wire is live? So if we intent to use it as short range taser (after the projectile missed) we need to be careful not to touch the wire?

  • I see you are a fellow Arizonanite.

  • yup

  • Just a little tip/hint. If you want a more advanced Taser, with longer range like the X26 or X3 L.E. models, get an AZ security license. Taser will sell police model products to licensed security guards. It's not hard to get one either. Just go to the DPS office by the airport and apply. They take photos and fingerprints, it's $60. It will also eliminate the background check process.

  • I should also add, you don't actually have to work security, you just have to get the license. As long as you have a clean record, it won't be an issue. And it is valid for 2 years.

  • @Uuxaul What u dont need a Licence i'm 14 and I have one

  • I understand the state doesn't require you to have a license for them. However, Taser international's policy is to require you to show some sort of police or security ID to get the more advanced models. It's not required by law, but a policy the company enforces. Which they are allowed to do. As a private company, they are allowed to place whatever requirements they desire to purchase their products.

  • @Uuxaul Yes I know as I am a retailer of them I just thought that u said that u had to have a license to have one period

  • Oh okay. Then yeah, that's all I meant.

  • Where can I buy a TASER besides the internet?

  • @MilesBennetDyson4

Anyplace that Taser approves to be a dealer can sell them.. I've seen them for sale at Gun Shops (of course) but also Coin / Gold Shops, surplus stores, Self-defense schools and I even saw them for sale at a beauty parlor

  • @GunWebsites what was the phone number u called to get your info fixed so u could get the code

  • @cwjolly69

?? It was on the website

  • @GunWebsites im trying to get the X26 i tryed to do the background on the wed site it did not work so i need to call em

  • I live in AZ too. Satarting to get hot!

  • How much was it?

  • Clearly, what happens is there is a code you need to enter via the trigger to enable it. It seems like this code is matched with your serial number, and when it was manufactured taser intl. programmed the code into it and also into their database, so that they know what code to tell you, and you simply enter it and it unlocks.

  • This taser can be inprove the handle grip should have two flat probs and the user has a car like remote control he press disarm and press arm handle then shock so if someone took it away from the owner and trys to use it on the owner he gets shock instate :P

  • this is strange just a question when the red light is on is it because its new and its charging ? If you need to actived tru the internet then this taser has a sim card in it or a GSM network in it or else how this taser know its register ? and if it works that way can this taser in the sense that if a bad guy use it all the owner has to do is call the operater then it will be deactived so the bad guy will not be able to use it .?

  • good question.. but I'm not going to get into the details of how to do it since I'm not sure what Tasers policy is

  • retarded, i could buy a tasr and works out the box, AND I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA!

  • maybe a stun gun.. you know there is a difference right?

  • this sounds like a stupid question but without the cartiage in the taser, can you still "tase" someone? like by pressing it into them? thanks

  • good question.. yes it works as a standard stun gun does, but with the taser technology just like the dart

  • A background check for a taser? Is that an Arizona thing?

  • Nope a Taser thing, they want these in the hands of 'good guys' so the cartridges shoot confetti and are registered to the person who bought them..

To deter people using them in anger / or for illegal stuff

  • Yeah, serial numbered microdot confetti all over the place, so in the event something happened the police or whoever the local authorities may be, can check and see who owns the thing.
