  • This is great. Just awesome. Fantastic

  • another great aussie band.

  • The video and the feel of the music kind of reminds me of Tool. Mysterious, creepy however I embrace it, dark, and became underground to the present.

  • WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THIS VIDEO! h so creepy!

  • @vidrocentral Its called Art.

  • @XXHattoriHanzoXX freaking terrifying

  • This song is beautiful, but the video, honestly, scares me.

  • It's actually probably a tribute to Tool if anything (the song Sober by Tool was done with a claymation video about an individual's struggle with desire and addiction on various levels). As a Tool fan, I can totally appreciate TBE's in this aspect because they did such a great job with the video and the song. If it isn't a tribute to Tool, well then my opinion stands, this song is great and the video is amazing. Claymation takes a lot of time and allows for such expression.

    TL;DR, Just enjoy it

  • Just because they used claymation to make a video doesn't mean they are coping Tool, Tool doesn't own that type of animation, they are just famous for using it.

  • and this is the reason i want to move to Australia

  • @44Schecter best music ever! I hope you've heard of Karnivool! I'll be ashamed if you haven't, and don't move here till you do :P

  • The video reminds me of I Stay Away by Alice in Chains

  • how can they fuck up such an amazing song with such a terrible video?

  • He has a haunting voice that expressing so well.

  • believe it or not but, I ran into them in wow sight and sound lol

  • the video part 'reminded' me of something from tool, but the music? it stands alone.

i can't think of a single 'sounds like' band... or song even. i don't care where you're from or what your culture is, quality always shines through and WINS.

  • both the top comments receive my thumbs up!

  • umm this is the creeiest stuff ive ever seen....i like it :)

  • Clearly inspired by Tool. If you don't think so, go ahead and pull your head out.

  • Cool vid.......someone was inspired by Adam Jones.

  • Cool vid.......someone was inspired by Adam Jones.

  • i really dont get this music vid. anyone help?

  • @inkyy999 not totally sure, but might have something to do with obsession and loss. The lyrics tell me that anyway

  • @Stutallica14 yeah, but the whole following a line thing and killing a blue butterfly with black cross on it :S cant make much sense of it.

  • @inkyy999 the guy collects butterflies, in the end he himself is collected and put into a box

  • @kamakazie19 yeah but, hate to ask, why? What does that have to do with the song? And why is he killing the butterflies and whats with the blue glow?

  • Anyone suggest some other good Australian rock bands? I'm really into it at the moment. Already well aware of Karnivool (fav) and Cog but I'm sure there are plenty more...

  • AC FUKING DC

  • @ar69er1 i'm pretty sure he meant obscure bands to discover lol

  • @joshy444 You should try Dead Letter Circus. They rock! And they are also from brisbane~!

  • love it...

  • What you idiots should really be focusing on is the awesome bands coming that have been inspired by Tool, like Chevelle and The Butterfly Effect. Great bands are influenced by great bands.

  • its called EVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we evolve into a better thing, i say tool had the days, but now TBE! ROCK THE FUCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that being said @TheMemorySense ur a fukkin moron, quite clearly we know TOOL didnt invent music, they became a perfect circle, moved on like you should u ignorant fuck..................wake up to urself, FREEDOM OF SPEECH BALLSACK!!! now have ur say and fuck off and let this band build fans like ur putrid ass never will

  • @zeptski Tool didn't become A Perfect Circle, Maynard James Keenan was just the lead singer of both of them.

  • its called EVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we evolve into a better thing, i say tool had the days, but now TBE! ROCK THE FUCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could actually imagine people comparing this to Tool simply because the video uses claymation lmfao...I get so sick of people comparing these bands to Tool too, I just don't get it. Not only do they not sound alike, it's not like Tool was the first band to ever do anything original. Honestly I think Tool is extremely overrated. They have some great songs, don't get me wrong, but come on. They didn't invent music. But like a Tool fan once told me, you can't overrate the best...pointless debate.

  • @TheMemorySense if you're going to compare bands, listen to Nonpoint, and tell me this doesn't sound like his voice.

  • People say the same thing on TBE videos as they do on Karnivool videos.. "Sounds like tool, so unoriginal!"... Tool isn't a genre unto and of itself, it's called prog rock, just be happy Tool isn't the only band in that genre we have to listen to and enjoy.

  • @TheAgavi Yeah... imagine if people in the 16-1800s referred to Bethoven as "sounding like Mozart." Very good point, sir.

  • @TheAgavi It's more the clip that's like Tool here.

  • 6 ppl suck cocks :)

  • brilliant love it

  • I can still remember being blown away by these guys when they played the waterloo hotel in support of their first ep. That's what got me into writing music.

  • I wish they'd get back to this style of music (Heavier, harder stuff) instead of the insipid crap they've evolved into.

  • wow im glad i found this video / song.

  • ALL I CAN SAY......one of the best bands if not the best band to come out of Brissie

  • Love the band, the song, the clip. This would have to be my favourite, saw them live and they didn't play this, but they were still one of the best live acts i've ever seen.

  • known about karnivool for a few months so i checked out this aussie band and shit they are pretty sick!

  • dudeee...why is there so little views, this song is epic!

  • Saw a snowboarding with this music in the BG

  • This band is just fucking awesome they kiss ass , melody lyrics ,whole package

  • @MegaFadz . kiss ass eh...

  • @MegaFadz I think you mean KICK ass =)

  • My favourite song ever, can't wait for new album :]

  • Love it :D

  • love love love love love....... here's to fluttering brilliance!

  • I reckon TBE went softer after Begins Here. Nothing wrong with a change in musical direction but I prefer BH era.

  • australian music at its finest

  • Begins Here has to be one of the greatest albums to come out of Australia.

  • I absolutely adore this song; The pride of Australian music.

    The butterfly Effect are god!

  • Love these guys, can't wait to see them live.

    Great song.

  • ((((, ave, great song ,))))

  • Bäm!

  • I think i saw this ealier in life.I might have been something else but I can defenitly remeber the butterfly.

  • something hidden about this video....couldnt help but watch it and question my life and what ive done in my life.......great video...great song...and the middle 8 guitar and drums go off........this continues to be my fave track of theirs.......why this wasnt a massive hit i will never know....australian radio has alot to answer for

  • the fil clip is showing within something dark there is something beautiful and when there is something beautiful in a dark place you would do anything for it to be yours

  • @9300slide WOW... that interpretation is amazing man :D

  • @MegaRocket73 im hear u but im glad this song didn't go to radio coz if it did it would have played over and over again then i may have got bored and sick of it so glad it didn't

  • fucking awesome!

  • amazing song!!

  • such an awesome song, brings back such good memories :)

  • i first thought its Tool. yea, but its good aswell!

  • This is the first song I heard from TBE years ago and its probably my favourite :D I love Tool aswell though so all you downy fucks bitching just learn to enjoy music for what it is. Music is the greatest invention of all time and I don't give a fuck if you disagree without music life would suck...

  • with out a doubt... i can't imagaine life without music...

  • yea me 2 i still remember the first time i heard these guys there f good

  • @deaddy2123 no shit. life would be the biggest onslaught without music. Great way to relate to yourself imo.

  • @deaddy2123 it would be so boring aye

  • @snowblue18 Yep T B E is cool and Tool kicks ass in so many ways !

  • My favorite song by them!!!!!!!

  • This video and one other of the butterfly effects earlier released songs before FCOK were directed by pshychadelic visual designer and artist, alex grey who is famous for this kind of work. Alex worked alongside Adam Jones (tool) from when Adam was studying sculpture and visual design to create alot of the tool videos. TBE dont have alot in common with TOOL and i dont really think that Alex greys video's (though awesome) fit in well with TBE's persona as a band. btw i love tbe.

  • I was gonna say that this video reminds me of a Tool video lol

  • he sounds nothing like maynard retard

  • are you serious? the stylings are similar, you have to grant that. plus the genre of music even. the look of the clip

  • not really, just because they have stop motion animation video that's creepy and weird so many people think they're just ripping off tool

it's stupid, they have totally different sounds

  • I definitely don't think they are like Tool. It just reminds me of a Tool video. But yeah I agree it is stupid they are nothing alike!

  • Just like a tool video.

  • this is amazing.

    ::fucking gnarly .. wow!

  • i have been discovering butterfly effect on u tube all afternoon so thanks to all who uploaded im now on my to i tunes store to buy

  • Buy... that is what i like to hear when it comes to good bands like tbe

  • The Butterfly Effect iss thee best (: haha & i know clint the lead singer, he's nicee.

  • Comment removed

  • this song is my fav butterfly effect song.. live in brissy and proud of these boyz.. now just need ceremony to kick it into gear and get heard more..

  • meh who cares if it's close to tool. song still kicks ass.

  • Tool is Rock art ,well layered, but this is almost mainstream, but the very best of mainstream, much like chili peppers are a very talented mainstream group

  • Great song.

  • this doesnt look like anything tool would do

tool is focused on mystical events and DMt and shit like that

i dont know much about the butterfly effect so i couldnt argue about that

  • I think the comparison is more to do with the visual style than the lyrical content, because Tool as you say write about DMT and spirituality. But the drawer scene at 1:54 is very similar to something in Prison Sex, while the plasticine (I presume that's what the figure is made of) model is similar to that of Sober down to the jittery movements and glances. I can see the comparison and I consider myself something of a Tool aficionado.

  • cool dude

i like some of thier songs

  • This is like a clip i saw, 'the luminary' , duno what came first. Though very similar.

  • zone1480 shut the fuck up.

  • i dig the song and the clip. but like everyone else i think its too similar to tool. yet still cool

  • Reminds me of a film clip tool would do or something, lol not Butterfly Effect

  • it is incredibly similar to the 'sober' film clip

  • i love this song! but the vid is fuckin creepy lol

  • WOW, very 'Adam Jones-ish', such a good song and video

  • yah

  • except shihad's kiwi...

  • my friend from the america told me to listen to this band 2 months ago, i cant believe that i didnt until today

  • best song weird clip thou still good

  • couldn't agree with you more. lol!

  • absolutely brilliant this song and band

  • This is great! I can't believe there're only 6 comments and 5879 views!!! Love this song!!!
