you dont want to ruin any aspect of the story? you already have by not showing us renesmee and jacob when shes older! faire enough she remains young in the books but its film it would be great to show us that. would be the cherry on the final cake. i feel like knocking her out and re-writing the books.

@cookiesflippingreat We care for the quality of literature, and that is why we dislike her, because Twilight is overrated. I can safely say, if it was a moderate success, it wouldnt get all the hate it gets, but because some stories dont get noticed, and this does, when in comparision to other pieces of literature, its quality is quite poor, it makes some people frustrated. Now I agree no one should wish harm on her, but being a "hater" can be understandable.
@carnagex64 well I don't think the majority of Twilight fans would argue it's a brilliant piece of literature, in fact Meyer herself doesn't claim that. We enjoy the love story, that's it. I am all for differing opinions. I have no problem that some people do not like the books. What I do have a problem with is when others disparage people who do like the books simply because they like them. And I think you can express criticism without belittling and defamatory statements.

@cookiesflippingreat We can all have opinions sure since they are subjective afterall, but some opinions are a bit more legitimate, so for example I will take what Stephen King says over the series more seriously over an 8 year old girl infatuated with it, why? Cause he has proffesional experience and critical acclaim. Nice to have a decent conversation for once though, atleast we are being respectful.
@carnagex64 lol. I appreciate the conversation too. But as you say, it's all subjective. I know of quite a few college profs that enjoy them. I have issue with authors slamming another author. It strikes me as unseemly, especially the way some of them have gone about it.
yeah.. but where is Midnight Sun book? I did read the draft and my life trembled upside down with urgency, craving and necessity to read it untill finished... which is an impossible goal.. since she won't do it.. I am so freakin' mental now.
When I read new moon I totally got the Romeo and Juliet references. If bella never went to italy to stop edward from killing himself the ending would have been exactly like Romeo and Juliet. I think they are even reading romeo and juliet in class during the book.. I remember bella and edward watching the movie together in the beginning.
Im good friends with her son he goes to my school. He's Very nice, but whenever we have Fundraisers or open houses she cant go because of her fame, but her husband does. But she did go to the school spelling bee because her son was in it but she wore sunglasses and kept her head Down. It's pretty cool!
I suppose I'm finished. All I could say about her Mid-Summer Night's Dream reference is: this woman does not know the first thing about Shakespeare but I already established that. I do hope these books fade out soon enough. Part of me can't wait to see what else she writes in the future and what other classics she alludes to to make herself seem intelligent which she clearly is not. Perhaps a "Jacob Black is like Holden Caulfield because they both...have fathers" or something stupid of the sort.
@filisays Hey, I really have to applaud the time you took here to point out all of Stephenie Meyer's obvious flaws as a writer. You touched on the one thing that really bothered me with the series: The stories are lackluster, childishly written, and boring. The characters' lives mean nothing to the reader. Real, genuine literature touches a part of your soul: You want to read more about the characters' lives because they're relatable and you have feeling for them. I have no feeling for Bella.

@filisays Oh god, yeah, it was completely arrogant of her to compare her mediocre romance series to some of the best classics of all time... She doesn't realize how hard it is for good literature to get recognized. Sadly, a lot truly talented authors struggle along while the Stephenie Meyers of the world get a free ride... But oh well. There will always be talent out there. And yes, good writing is amazing :) So inspirational to writers like myself!
3.) (Cont.3) Catherine is also a very different and un-romantic character. I hated her. Almost as much as I hated Bella. The difference though is that Catherine is annoying because she is selfish, silly, childish and superficial. Bella is a bore to read. She is depressing, suicidal, and has no value of her life. She is compleatly unrelatable and there is absolutely nothing good to her personality beccause Meyer is a lousy writer. She writes lousy characters.
3.) (Cont.2) Unfortunately, WH is a bad romance to be inspired by. At least for the story Meyer's attempting. Heathcliff is not very romantic. He's selfish. He wants Catherine for his own selfish reasons not because he loves her. When she marries Edgar, he does not commit suicide, his feelings are not hurt, his pride is. Years later, he becomes what Catherine wanted basically to show her what she missed out on. He is obssessed with her and wants her in life or death. Very different from love.
3.) (cont.) Is Edward supposed to be Heathcliff? Meyer seems to have just taken Literature's most classic romances, given them a skim and made her characters mention them and compare themselves to the main characters. A monkey with the use of spark notes could do that.
3.) Wuthering Heights. Oh my. This one was the worst. This is my favorite novel. Joseph would throw his bible at Meyer and call her a witch. First and foremost: I have no idea how this even relates to Eclipse. I thought Eclipse was about a vampire war. I will never understand how that ties in to the gothic obssess-romance in the yorkshire moors masterpiece Miss Bronte created.

2.) (Cont.) More than that, the reader's could relate to Romeo and Juliet. In the 5 acts of the play we grew to love and understand these characters more than I ever did in 4 of the Twilight books. I do not give a rat's ass about Bella wanting to kill herself for Edward because I do not give a rat's ass about Edward or her! We know nothing about the characters except that Edward has "liquid topaz eyes" and "marble skin".
2.) Romeo + Juliet: Stephanie Meyer, have you actually read this play? Meyer twist all the play's characters to fit her pathetic writing needs. In New Moon, the tangent of Paris being like Jacob: Paris was not a stick figure character. Because (unlike Meyer) Shakespeare knew how to write, we knew that Paris was an unappealing, obnoxious, presumptous, dislikable thing however little he was in the play. We knew that Juliet would NEVER be attracted to him.
Elizabeth Bennett: Intelligent, witty, independent, speaks her mind, loves and helps her family no matter how ridiculous they are. Never fawns over Mr. Darcy like other women did, realizes that there is more to life than marriage and men
Bella Swan: Suicidal, petty teenage girl, with the attention span and intelligence of a fruit fly (fails to connect things like: Fire in water+ Homocidal red haired vampire on the loose=Victoria is in the water). Her life is over when her boyfriend leaves her
1.) Pride and Prejudice = Twilight: Miss Austen would die all over again! How are you going to tell me that Mr. Darcy is like Edward cullen?
Mr. Darcy: Proud and judgemental, reserved, kind, gentlemanly, loves Georgianna, helps the undeserving Mr. Whickham, falls in love with Elizabeth after months of getting to know and understand her.
Edward Cullen: Stalks Bella while she sleeps, blows his family's secret for a girl, constantly makes Bella feel like an incompetant mortal.
Where to begin? The last part of this video particularly ripped my soul apart. She doesn't know why the characters mean so much to other people? Fans are MEANT to feel for the characters. Wouldn't be much of a book if even it's fans felt nohing towards it. Characters aren't good characters if fans don't feel some kind of emotion towards them.

Her books are great I have read them 4 times each and still read them when I get ready to watch one of the new movies that come out. These are the best books I have ever read. My whole family is in love with the novels and wish she would put out another one to show Renesemee grown up and if she chooses jacob or another half vampire.

I find it very funny and entertaining that people are calling her a failure, when she's sold over a million copies worldwide, the movies are a billion dollar franchise and she probably has enough money to last her 5 lifetimes. I really hope she finishes Midnight Sun. I read the first like 6 chapters i think and it was so edge of your seat great. It's sooo interesting reading it from Edward's perspective and makes me realize how Edward's just as obsessed with Bella as she is with him and maybe even more. he's kind of a stalker in a sweet cute way

@annie10103 The love story is great and her writing style is very easy to understand and follow so everybody can read it and connect with it...I love the Twilight Saga and I can honestly say that the movies are not even close in terms of details and the emotions readers experience when they read the books...in my opinion, ppl who go see the movies (myself included) go because we have an emotional connection to the books and not necessarily because the movies/actors are good or worth seeing
@annie10103 In my opinion we can't judge..if you find that her writing skills are terrible, then that is your personal opinion. Many people enjoy it and some even find it amazing..that doesn't mean that we have to say mean things about her, the books or the readers. Ppl have different tastes and this book is not for everyone...but that doesn't mean that the readers who enjoy the Twilight Saga are complete idiots! That is my opinion, of course :)
And as we are all entitled to our on opinion, Twilight is a terrible Saga. It's not love, it's not interesting and I couldn't get past the first page. It's basically just Stephanie Meyer's wet dream. It teaches young girls that your boyfriend is your life, and you can't live without one. It's utter rubbish.
She is one of the best Authors I've ever read...her wording, just makes you feel like you are there and that you are a part of the book. The movies are great as well, but she is hands down the best author I've ever come across.....

I saw a lot of fanfics with more complex characters and plotlines and unpredictable events than the Twilight characters and story. J.K. Rowling is a great writer, her books are a true work of literature art. Meyer's books just killed trees for nothing. She insulted vampires. Dracula did NOT sparkle.

When I read new moon I totally got the Romeo and Juliet references. If bella never went to italy to stop edward from killing himself the ending would have been exactly like Romeo and Juliet. I think they are even reading romeo and juliet in class during the book.. I remember bella and edward watching the movie together in the beginning.

Im good friends with her son he goes to my school. He's Very nice, but whenever we have Fundraisers or open houses she cant go because of her fame, but her husband does. But she did go to the school spelling bee because her son was in it but she wore sunglasses and kept her head Down. It's pretty cool!

I suppose I'm finished. All I could say about her Mid-Summer Night's Dream reference is: this woman does not know the first thing about Shakespeare but I already established that. I do hope these books fade out soon enough. Part of me can't wait to see what else she writes in the future and what other classics she alludes to to make herself seem intelligent which she clearly is not. Perhaps a "Jacob Black is like Holden Caulfield because they both...have fathers" or something stupid of the sort.

@filisays Hey, I really have to applaud the time you took here to point out all of Stephenie Meyer's obvious flaws as a writer. You touched on the one thing that really bothered me with the series: The stories are lackluster, childishly written, and boring. The characters' lives mean nothing to the reader. Real, genuine literature touches a part of your soul: You want to read more about the characters' lives because they're relatable and you have feeling for them. I have no feeling for Bella.

The difference though is that Catherine is annoying because she is selfish, silly, childish and superficial. Bella is a bore to read. She is depressing, suicidal, and has no value of her life. She is compleatly unrelatable and there is absolutely nothing good to her personality beccause Meyer is a lousy writer. She writes lousy characters.

3.) (Cont.2) Unfortunately, WH is a bad romance to be inspired by. At least for the story Meyer's attempting. Heathcliff is not very romantic. He's selfish. He wants Catherine for his own selfish reasons not because he loves her. When she marries Edgar, he does not commit suicide, his feelings are not hurt, his pride is. Years later, he becomes what Catherine wanted basically to show her what she missed out on. He is obssessed with her and wants her in life or death. Very different from love.

She doesn't know why the characters mean so much to other people? Fans are MEANT to feel for the characters. Wouldn't be much of a book if even it's fans felt nohing towards it. Characters aren't good characters if fans don't feel some kind of emotion towards them.

@annie10103 The love story is great and her writing style is very easy to understand and follow so everybody can read it and connect with it...I love the Twilight Saga and I can honestly say that the movies are not even close in terms of details and the emotions readers experience when they read the books...in my opinion, ppl who go see the movies (myself included) go because we have an emotional connection to the books and not necessarily because the movies/actors are good or worth seeing

1. The plot of a vampire&human relationship is fine, but Meyer's writings are shit.

@annie10103 In my opinion we can't judge..if you find that her writing skills are terrible, then that is your personal opinion. Many people enjoy it and some even find it amazing..that doesn't mean that we have to say mean things about her, the books or the readers. Ppl have different tastes and this book is not for everyone...but that doesn't mean that the readers who enjoy the Twilight Saga are complete idiots! That is my opinion, of course :)

And as we are all entitled to our on opinion, Twilight is a terrible Saga. It's not love, it's not interesting and I couldn't get past the first page. It's basically just Stephanie Meyer's wet dream. It teaches young girls that your boyfriend is your life, and you can't live without one. It's utter rubbish.

She is one of the best Authors I've ever read...her wording, just makes you feel like you are there and that you are a part of the book. The movies are great as well, but she is hands down the best author I've ever come across.....

@dawnbraxton No. Meyer kills the thesaurus. Just because she's narrating at the first person makes you feel like you're part of the book? I can do that too. I read better FANFICS than Twilight. I saw a lot of fanfics with more complex characters and plotlines and unpredictable events than the Twilight characters and story. J.K. Rowling is a great writer, her books are a true work of literature art. Meyer's books just killed trees for nothing. She insulted vampires. Dracula did NOT sparkle.

@dawnbraxton Plus, if she is the best author you have ever come across.. I'm sorry, I'm not sure you read a lot. I admit I don't read a lot, but I did read books from good authors, Meyer is NOTHING compared to them. Even my first fanfics were better than Twilight. I tried reading Twilight, but I couldn't bare it, I either laughed my ass off at Bella's stupidity, either cried a river at the killing of the thesaurus. I handed it back and said "I'm sorry, I can't bare it, It's toilet paper."
