this was the race that Henry Cecil recently said was his biggest regret in racing: he didn't run Chalon (who I think had won the Fred Darling) and it hosed up in the 7f handicap before the 2,000 Guineas the day after. Still, On The House went on to win the Sussex Stakes, so she wasn't exactly no good...
