I'm an Aussie guy and we have totally different rules. For a start it's alot harder cos we use a tennis ball and we don't have any double taps or whatever ther're called. No offence but these rules suck.
When I was at school - the done thing was that all return shots had to bounce in your own square once before bouncing in any other square. That way you couldnt just smash the ball downwards and get someone out in a second. Was much more fun too
I've just picked up playing this again (played in elementary school, now playing with some friends at 29 years old), and I wanted to thank you for the excellent video. It was nice to have a basic introduction, as most of us had forgotten a lot of the rules.
lol i play actual serious-4 square. im in 9th and i play against sophmores jrs and srs your allowed to spike, over hand hit, play off wall. No Holding though at all.
problems: blackjack is really called poison, underhand only is more comonly called old school, and double taps is called double hits. these dont nesecarely always aply, but i have been to many many schools and that is the way it normally is.
im in 8th grade and i am not afraid to say i love 4 square. There were weeks at recess where that was all we did. Our games are different from this but still awesome. I played today actually
my school is the hardest school to play 4 square in.
