    The jp voice actors just sound weird. Maybe that's just because I was listening to english voices the whole series but I still like them.

  • @NixtonV My brother played the demo and said she only has 2 forms now.....sword and whip I think. Looking at the match though it looks like there is only one sword form though....

  • @Crimson121 I think what the "Sword and whip" form is, and this is just a theory since I haven't played it, she seems to have a normal sword then a whip version of the same attack that has more reach, which I'd imagine you'd switch between by holding A or B rather then tapping it. I remember they did that a lot in 3.

    Just a theory, though. I haven't seen her with a whip mode, just sword going to whip for a second then back to sword.

  • Check out Ivy's grunt when she dies...BADASS. She still sounds like there's a ton of fight left in her, unlike so many other fighting game females. They usually sound weak.

    Here, Ivy's sounds like she's thinking "Oh motherfucker no you didn't!" as she wails.

  • are the critical edges balanced? There should be a mode they can be switched off if you wish to play without them. I miss soul charge, it differentiated it from other fighting games. If they cannot be blocked, it's going to take away from the fun of soul calibur fights of being at like 3% health and blocking and guard impacting and making a comeback the hard way

  • @Invertedzero As far as I've heard, they are blockable. Think Street Fighter.

  • @Invertedzero To me they look perfectly balanced,the maxi just kept punishing whiffed or blocked moves with his critical edge and set him up on the second one he hit.Ivy's looked like a throw,which I am assuming the maxi player didn't know seein as it was just a demo and both players were probably still learning about the game.

  • i hope this comes out on Wii U, I have a 360 now, and although it does the job, i just hate playing games on the console, nothing is ever exciting about getting a new game on it. Should always have been Sony and Nintendo, and with Soul Calibur, it was best on Gamecube.

    lol that's not zoning, Using the same move is just annoying and unprofessional unless it's for a real purpose, not to just use it over and over hoping it will keep distance and that the opponent won't learn and get around it really quickly,,..

    They seem to have gotten rid of those 3 stances to make her easier to play with than IV, Never played with her much in IV, but V could be my lucky game to play with her. :)

Its like making Xiaoyu and Lei from tekken losing their stance just because ppl don't want to lose some time to learn how to play them... and believe me, if you mastered xiaoyu or lei... Ivy is a piece of cake. God, I think i will stop playing soulcalibur in this one...they changed ivy 3 already in SC 4, her combo's were all messed up...

  • @TBig1986 Thats not spamming, its called zoning, its an technic used mostly on Street fighter games (Mostly by Hadouken characters, even in Top championships...). You use that, so that your character has always the most control over an area, but at the same time, it may lead some openings with fake advances. All you need to do is to learn how to measure the enemy timing and counter it...

    That's not the original theme music for the stage.

    The new thing I've noticed in other videos is that you can choose a specific character's theme to play in the same screen where you select the stage.

    But 1 problem is that it is a stance low, so it's still readable unlike the ones we used to be able to do from neutral like 3B+K from SC2 / 3 and 2A+B from SC3

  • Can anyone explain me how fast is Ivy's super start-up in frames? It starts extremely fast and seems unduckable but there's a throw escape window at the stat of it's animation. Is it breakable and by witch button?

  • @LlanowarOne It's inescapable. Seriously, a super throw that is escapable would be so gimp haha. From what I understand, it's not duckable on -reaction-, but it is duckable on -anticipation-. You can also maintain good spacing away from Ivy if you're scared to be hit by it since, like all throws, it has a short range.
