@boristrap My words were Sarcastic xD i hate Tamron - to much CA I now have a 70-200 f4 USM L and there's almos NONE CA but on the Tamron 17-50 / 18-270 or the sigma ones - i'm missing sharpness (even stopped down) and the CA is just not ok for me...

How does the VC version compare to the non VC version? The VC version is a tad bit more expensive, bigger and heavier. Is it better? Worse? Should i get the VC version or just save the money and get the non VC lens?

after so much research this is the perfect combo . who knew tamron has this lens with vc , I have the one without for my 40D and I love it , but for video this is perfect . I wanted to get the 5dmkii , but the old af and no flash had me looking at 7D . no full frame , but i guess you cant have it all . tamron 70-200 as the zoom lens , and I'm set .

Yeah this lens is great. I just bought a Sigma 30mm 1.4 for low light stuff but I mainly use the Tamron for most of my projects. It's a great walk around lens for video plus it has VC. Awesome!!!

i believe they manufacture the 17-50mm 2.8 specifically for cropped sensors so the 17-50mm is true. On a full sensor it would produce vignetting.
