Saw him in London last week... very goo. Neil Finn came on stage at the end and they did a fab version of "I Got You" the old Split Enz song, and then the pair of them beat the shit out of both drum kits. Wonderful.

I also want to say that I am tired of the hypocritical mainstream attitude of Zealand musicians mimicking American musicians but hating Americans despite ripping-off their music and lyrics. @anglinthemtns At first I didn't like Liam because from the limited exposure I had to him at the time he seemed to be all falsetto and I didn't like that, then I saw this and grew up a little bit at the same time and am so proud of him.

@yuppy64 Agreed - I first heard the studio version of this song and was reminded a bit too much of Jake from the Scissor Sisters (he's got to stop that falsetto). But Liam's falsetto is much lower, and not annoying, and at least imbued with some emotion.

I think he is tuned down a half step to Eb. Also he is using some different fingerings for chords which made it seem weird at first when I was trying to figure it out. On the Dm chord he is omitting the bass note D. On the Eb he is playing it with the G shape at the 11th fret but just playing on the 5,4,3,2 strings. and the G# and G chords doing the thumb for the bass note skip the 5th string type of chord.

I seen him first on Letterman, and my jaw was literally on the floor all through the last commercial, then I found this version later, hes talented just like the rest of his family. I didn't even know he was in the business! Album version is lame. Video is too hipster, all it's missing is a fixie bike, a $12 artisan beer, and an emo pancake-ass girl.
