Vietnamese and Chinese were both based on the ancient Chinese language "Hang" Viet and Chinese used to be able to talk to each others without translation, just that the grammar and characters were a little different. Now Vietnam, because of the colonization of the french, adopted the Latin based alphabet and continues to grow farther and farther away from the old "hang" language. So that's why sometimes Vietnamese and Chinese sounds alike, and also why a lot of Vietnamese words means the same.

@GuardianDemonX one more thing, you must educate yourself and know what facts are facts and what are opinionated, Character based languages, I think, came from the region of india or north of india where they still use character based language today, and such language transfer over to vietnam over time, because vietnamese was indeed people that "immigrate" from china, or more like they just walked south, and we got the same language, more many many years, we did speak the same language.

I live in Vietnam, but I'm orginally from nz, where the music industry is even smaller. Countries with small industries of course will be influenced by larger ones. Considering the genre, whether K-pop or J-pop etc, it's all influenced by America's HUGH industry. What I like is each culture gives it some of it's own, creating many interesting variations of one genre. Vietnamese pop certainly isn't my favourite, but I've heard some really nice songs here and there, such as this one. Nice work

I don't understand a word of what she is singing but I can tell by her voice, the music and just the expressions that pass on her face that this indeed a beautiful yet possibly sad song... Possibly even close to her heart because of it's meaning.

If I were to go by what I've observed in the film clip and by the title, I would guess that it's her reflecting on a passed relationship which ended in a break up... Maybe she wants the guy back or misses him... Someone tell me if I'm right with this?

there are different branches of music nowadays, and i understand that the vietnamese culture generally had those ballads and sorts, being half vietnamese myself. however, as music evolves, you get different cultures spawning their own seperate styles of pop, rap, techno, etc. as music goes on, many cultures will combine their styles to create new types of pop and whatever (with the example of vietnamese lyrics and a pop instrumental)
