Some kids do turn out fine, I'm not saying you didn't. But, a lot of kids don't. Most bullies and bigots are that way because of being hit by parents, whether it's subtle or not. Could it be done a "right way?" I really don't think so. It may depend on the kid. But even so, I think it is always better not to, and not doing it tends to produce better results, from what i've seen.
