I was in Atlanta picking up my sister from the airport. Her flight was delayed so we didn't leave the airport until 9:30. Then there was a lot of traffic for that time at night it took 30 minutes to pass by Atlanta and the tornado had touch down. My car was getting pounded by hail, it was really windy. I just didn't know there was a tornado. when we got home we found out that we were on the road when tornado was right next to us in the city. It was scary.

I was outside smoking a cigarette when this happened. The devistation at the congressional center next door was unbelievable.  I remember there was this poor girl who was caught right in the middle of it, and she finally made it into the building and was crying her eyes out. Did not even get to see my CATS play.

It is simply not economically feasible to build homes like that outside of tornado alley due to the extreme rarity of getting hit by a tornado. Even here in Tornado alley(I live in Tornado Alley) its still an expensive option even though we get more tornadoes here than anywhere else in the entire world. All things considered, the people in that dome were never in any danger.

I will say this, thank you builders of the Georgia Dome! She held up good despite the weather. I remember being in my basement at this time. We heard the tornado sirens but Im sure people at the Dome didnt hear them. Tornadoes can be scary, you just need to keep a clear head, dont panic, and know what to do and you will be alright.
