"Tantum Ergo Sacramentum," while usually treated as a hymn of its own, is actually the final two verses of the "Pange Lingua Gloriosi," a Eucharistic hymn that was composed by St. Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi.
I firmly believe that Thou art really and corporally present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.I adore Theehere present fromthe very depthsof my
heart, and I worshipThy sacred presence with all possible humility. O my soul, what joy to have Jesus Christ alwayswith us, and to be able to speak to Him,heart to heart, with allconfidenceGrant, O Lord, that I,having adoredThy Divine Majesty here on earthin this wonderful Sacrament, may be able to adore It eternally in heavenAmen
I just wanted to ask, with the Moto Propio of Pope Benedict XVI, the Schismatic SSPX invasion of Oregon and such a beautiful and useful church, why doesn't your church celebrate the extraordinary form as well?
Hello. If your not Catholic just inquire with you local Catholic church about signing up for their RCIA classes. Once your received into the church you can receeve the Lord in Holy Communion, God bless you.
@UnshackledWoman you must remember, when you become Catholic, if that is what you desire you can only receive Holy Communion in a state of Grace. That is why confession is so important,
@dacatholicbandorgan wait what happens if you recieve communion outside the state of grace? I did so a few weeks ago not knowing that I am not allowed to.
@AnotherAppleMacbook First of all, before one ever receives Communion for the first time, one is taught when and under what conditions one can receive worthily. Either you are not Catholic or you weren't paying attention in class. To answer your question, if you receive Communion while under the weight of mortal sin, you have committed another mortal sin. My friend, you need the Sacrament of Reconciliation or an RCIA course. God Bless.
From my understanding of the Catechism, and Cannon Law, currect practice is either at least three, or as many candles are used as at Mass. Either are valid, appropriate, and acceptable.
A Sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace. There is obvously more to say about this and if you email me I can direct you to some good web sources. God bless, Marc
In the Hebrew context, the word "memory" or "remebrance" literally means " to make a reality present. And, oh how it is. too bad that so many think that the bible was written in English with little numbers before each verse. Oh what a redemption we have! What a privilege, like the two on the road to Emaus to know him in this most precious Sacrament.
is that a deacon or a priest celebrating?

Very reverent and beautiful. Honestly, what is the difference between this and the Tridentine Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament?

This is not the standard music to which Tantum Ergo is sung (Gregorian) Is this polyphonic? I'd like to know about polyphonic.

Yes, it is the Tantum Ergo, but yes, a different tune. Which tune is it, and who wrote it? I like it.

There should be the same amount of candles on the altar that are used at Mass - in that altar's case, two.
Fortescue said that at Benediction there should be a minimum of 12 - but that's not done much any more.
