We've had our first grey four years now and couldn't ask for a better dog. She was 4 when we got her and she is so sweet, loving and appreciates everything she gets - takes care of all her toys. She lives with 5 humans,2 scotties and 6 cats and gets along with all.I wish I had known 40 yars ago just what wonderful creatures greys are.

I am sharing this video again, my friend! You are right, at this time of the year it is even more important to reach out and try to help. And with the many tracks closing in the US, the adoption groups are scrambling to find homes for beautiful greyhounds such as these. We worry that many will get euthanized, if they are not adopted quickly! They all deserve a home, a warm and loving first home... Thank you for all that you do!

For many months, Andra was always on my mind, I had to convince my husband, then had to fix the backyard, then had to wait for the adoption group, and then for the right time to go get my precious girl. Wiping away the tears as I type. Greyhounds make the most perfect, easy pets with minimal exercise requirements and the biggest hearts in the canine world. It is heartbreaking that any one of these wonderful animals lacks a loving home. I adopted mine two years ago and have always blessed the day I did.

They are unwanted after greedy humans who use them for racing decide that they are no longer able to make enough money for them when they get older and so they are discarded as if they are an inanimate object. They are unwanted because some humans are so greedy that their heart is blinded to being caring and loving to these poor dogs.

Thank God that there are some people who adopt them and give them good homes. These people care more about the dogs than about making money.

I did and I do! I adopted a retired Greyhound. Blue failed out of racing school, but the kennel and rescue group thought he might make a good pet. Lucky for us! The most loving dog that I've ever had. Just a joy to be with. After some other info, I found out that that Am Staff's are the other most abused breeds of dogs. I hope to adopt one too! So I can show that these dogs are supposed to be loving pets and not some kind of sport!!!

Tony, watching this one again, and my heart is breaking for the ones not so lucky. I have been reading from greyhound rescue groups how so many thousands are murdered, yes slaughtered each year. This must stop!!Now I'm angry with such heartless people. I pray the Lord will help them all. And, one day in Judgement the evil humans, will pay with their souls.

great loveable dogs. i rescued a greyhound and he is awsome, its ashame he has been raced,he is full of scars and even has a tatto in his ear with his racing number, how cruel. i also have a lurcher and they love eachother.

Your husband doesn't know what he's missing. I have dogs and if I didn't live in such a tiny condo, I WOULD get a greyhound. I simply wouldn't heed a spouse or significant other who said they didn't want dogs. I'd get the dog and they could throw a fit about it if they wished.  But I'm merely speaking for myself.

Darthbelal - I agree that they are wonderful animals. My neighbor has three, and they are so friendly, sweet, well behaved, and I just love them. As for my spouse, he said it's choice between him or a dog. I chose him.
