Nascar is better. 43 Cars doing 180+ mph for three hours, bumping, shoving and grinding their way to the front versus F1, 90mph, 10,120, 100,170, 40mph... and if they so much as touch they tear to shreds. @jkfw6 Oh man, I love the sound of NASCAR cars but they do not even come close to the sound of an F1 car. If you have ever heard an F1 car in reality it will blow your mind. You dont even have to hear it, you can actually feel the car coming! So incredibly loud and vicious sounding. Type in Williams BMW V10 F1 Sound to the search bar and listen to that. And that still doesnt come close to what it is like in person.
Nascar!!! Don't know really.......oh hold on just check dictionary it says "nascar is racing in circles where only left turn is allowed".....:) hope this helps!!!
You can't really criticise or compare Nascar to Formula One pit stops when F1 teams are allowed to use center lock wheels and allowed more people to service the car. Both are incredibly impressive.
nascar ain't shit comperad to formula,,,even, the speed, the handling, pit stops, race tracks,,,formula takes way more skills the nascar will ever need,,,I mean all nascar is,is bunch of cars with whole bunch of horsepower and racing in one huge oval race track,u can leave the race ofr 10 minutes and won't lose anything from the race,,,all u'll loose would whole bunch of left turns
@bulfric Oh so by you seeming to know how easy a NASCAR is can you please tell me if youve raced in NASCAR? Oh thats right... You havnt. So shut the fuck up. NASCAR has close to 0 downforce while F1 cars have 1000 lbs of it. Lets not forget how much horsepower those things have. Plus those ovals they race are made of all kinds of different concrete. If a F1 driver is good at one track hes good at them all. Its not the same for NASCAR. EVERY track is different.
@saintsrulz Rally IS the hardest. I respect rally as much as F1. Just don't think that NASCAR is as hard to race as F1 or even harder cos it's definately not. F1 requiers MUCH higher concentration plus fitness (try to drive through different corners with speeds over 200km/h with insane Gforces affecting you all the time (pretty much the same as the fighter jet pilot has to withstand) and drive like that on full throtle for 60 laps) and it requires better track knowing. They're not oval u know
My dear friend, watch this - /watch?v=Lha_ZqWxCJA&feature=related
Are you going to tell me, that NASCAR is as hard as F1 in those conditions? F1 racers are the only true kings of asphalt. Rally drivers dominate gravel, that's for sure. And there's no one else.
You can aswell try to find a NASCAR driver that can drive like that in the rain - the Ferrari F1 in this vid has a 3.0L V10 with 1000hp in it while the car weighs like 700kg RWD - drive that in the rain so fast if u can ;)
@popace Cool story bro. A NASCAR weighs 1568.2 kilograms today. 200 less horsepower but double the weight and also RWD. I could give 2 shits for racing in the rain.
Read about F1 on wiki it says everything there - 3/4 of F1 grip is given as a result of insane downforce. NASCAR has almost zero downforce, if not actually zero. You can not do shit with NASCAR at those speeds except for oval races. And if you would put a F1 on an oval race vs a NASCAR, the NASCAR would get smoked too. F1 accelerates 0-160kmh and stops to zero in around 5 seconds - 0-300kmh (0-180mph) for F1 is in 8 secs. ;)
@popace Well no duh a F1 would smoke it. Have you even looked at the difference of aero-dynamics? A NASCAR is like a extremely fast tank while a F1 car is like a fighter jet. If a NASCAR was built to go in a straight line it could it hit 0-180 kmh in 2.27 seconds. And getting info from Wikipedia is such a great idea. But... being an actual mechanic works better.
Well, you can check FIA data if you want... Wiki info is actually copied from FIA so...
Yes ur NASCAR would then finally go as fast in straights as the F1 but couldn't do turns, while F1 would still do turns under 5g or more force. ;)
Anyway ur data 0-180km/h without those heavy bulky drag tires is unreal. The theoretical acc of a F1 0-100km/h is around 1 sec but cos of wheel spin is more like 2.5 secs or somewhere near. Think about the physics dude ;)
@popace Its not about the Gs. Its what makes the car harder. And my Physics are not wrong. Ive seen it happen. I work on NASCAR's in fact i was at Watkins Glen when Lewis Hamilton was and I talked with Mclaren engineers.
Am... I still believe and claim that F1 is much harder to drive than NASCAR. One of the main reasons is the Gforces that F1 drivers have to withstand continuously for 60 laps. The Gforces actually go as high as the Gforces that fighter jet pilots deal with. In some turns the gforces even exceed 5g's, deceleration is somewhere there aswell, and everything happens at a blink of an eye. Very hard to drive if u ask me...
@popace That is a very great point. The G forces in NASCAR's only hit 2 on a standered track. 3 at most. The G-forces of a F1 car would make it extremely hard to concentrate and even think.
@bulfric And if its so easy how come F1 drivers switch and never win? Yeah... Shut the fuck up faggot. Im a fan of both but every racing fan knows thats a shitty comment.
I find it funny at how everyone is hating on NASCAR pit crews. If it takes 7.5 for 20 people to make a 4 tire, fuel, and adjustments stop, and 7 guys to do the same in 12 seconds, without a pressurized fueling system, with 5 lug nuts instead of one, i would say the F1 crew is a bunch of bitches.
@MurphyMonster 5 seconds make or break a formula 1 race. also, look at the stop, close to 3 of those seconds are waiting for the fuel to be done. look up a stop from 2010-2011, the stops are only 3 seconds long now. nascar crews are unfit and mostly fat. thats coming from a guy who watches both sports intensly.
@MurphyMonster of course not, becuase i dont watch every formula 1 race on tv and go to at least 3 nascar races a year. i love nascar, but the fact that some of the crew members on some teams have pot bellys, and getting the fastest pit stop time was never important, annoys me. because theres a caution every 20 laps, getting the right lap to pit on in your strategy, isnt important.
As an American, i really don't like that NASCAR's Mentality is to Go fast and Turn Left… F1 Races are more competitive and exciting to watch… I wish there was more F1 Road Races in America...
All these people talking bad about NASCAR pit stops..5 lug nuts, now one man less over the wall (catch can is gone), less than a second on taking off and on lugs, precision jack timing, wedge changes, everyone but the tire changers multi-tasking etc. I could go on and on. You have to be just retarded to talk it down and put F1 stops over NASCAR. You're just a plain idiot.
@MrCallum740 Because NASCAR goes in circles. Or ovals. It's the most boring 'sport' in the universe, except for the crashes. F1 is the forefront of technology. NASCARs have four gears and weigh craploads. Sorry, NASCAR sucks, that's why it's confined to America whereas F1 is a worldwide sport.
@Pablosammy1 as a european, F1 loving WTCC/DTM fan.. I have to say.. Nascar is alot more than it appears at first glanse.. Since it is +1600kg cars, going the same speed as F1 top speed on the end of a straight. Constantly while overtaking, this means slipstreaming / reducing drag is EVERYTHING.. Its one big overtaking, where as F1 drivers can in "some way" go down to a cruise-mode and just drive it home.. Dont change my opp. that F1 is the "highest" branch in motorsports..
@Pablosammy1 so it should atleast be respected. :) And actually, nascar is growing in Australia, and also in some parts of europe. But dont bash on it like it was rookies on an open track-day..
@bigape6 F1 has 21 guys servicing the car and all this easy technology that does all the work for them. the only high tech machine use in a nascar pit stop is the 24,000 rpm nug gun. nascar stops take about 12.8 seconds to change 4 tires 20 log nuts, fill up the car (18 gallons) and make changes.
@bigape6 ya but a nascar pitstop only has 8 people over the wall and having to use a jack not about 20 people already stationed there ready to 2 1 job in nascar every person over the wall has 2 jobs minimum
@SummerTheFuzzy Ok smarty pants. F1 has 21 guys servicing the car and all this easy technology that does all the work for them. the only high tech machine use in a nascar pit stop is the 24,000 rpm nug gun. nascar stops take about 12.8 seconds to change 4 tires 20 log nuts, fill up the car (18 gallons) and make changes.
@SummerTheFuzzy lol at NASCAR for what? It takes 12 seconds to change 4 tires, which is 10 lug nuts per tire, and put fuel in. This has 1 nut per tire, 8, and now no fuel. Plus, they have like 3 times the amount of crew guys for it!
@gamblour proves the point.
@gamblour This is of course, part of the safety regs. And with only two tire changers, it makes things interesting. I am both a diehard NASCAR and F1 fan btw.

@gamblour This is of course, part of the safety regs. And with only two tire changers, it makes things interesting. I am both a diehard NASCAR and F1 fan btw.
