  • thanks for doing this, Zack. Playing for the troops must have been a great feeling, it shows that you care. Any DJ that doesn't get what you do is not a real DJ.

  • @djtman any troop that has no idea what they're fighting for is not a real soldier

  • tough crowd... i can understand why though... :(

  • DAMN! Never thought I'd hear anyone make Johnny Cash funky! Much respect to Z-Trip!! Peace out...DJTrueSoul.

  • @truesouljs team Canada made it funky, not z-trip

  • Birddog your a freakin idiot man.

  • Good vid, looks like no one is feeling it though.

  • @LostMySandals Supposed to dance when a dj/producer plays but this is a sausage party...

  • Great video!!Always throw en it down proper..

  • WHATS THE INSTRUMENTAL THERE ON THE FIRST SONG

  • lol @ birddogfreemann. Such a hater! He's far from a top 40 DJ. You say you have no interest in DJing but you sure have interest in being a DJ critic. Stfu, you sound like a whiny failure at life.

  • @ivanhurd thanks you for your interest and your deep infection. Why does observation/analysis/critique equate to being a "hater"? You obviously fail to look at the facts and must generalize to compensate for your lack of evaluation.

  • @birddogfreemann Because you aren't observing/analyzing, and your critiques are just pot shots. You sir, are being a hater. Just because he plays a couple 'popular now' songs, does not make him a top 40 DJ. I play top 40 (I hate to do it, but it's easy money), and his sets are far from top 40. Please know what you are talking about before you try to set up an argument that you are failing at miserably. Whatever tho, I smell troll. Keep spouting your nonsense.

  • @ivanhurd a couple "popular now" songs. You sir dont have a pot to piss in. When he started, he played top 40 (at a club called Bobby mcgees) but of course you dont live in Phoenix. You obviously are a whore, speak for yourself. He, too, is a whore and has combined (mixed) music from popular culture through "underground" rap music. Also, by playing to the masses, he has popularized non top 40 music. Good luck with your two-bit dj career.

  • @birddogfreemann Man, you just have no clue as to what you are saying. Nuff said. You try to use big words to make yourself sound intelligent, but instead come off sounding like a pompous fake that has no clue to how the world works outside of your parent's basement. I chortle at your folly. *guffaw*

  • @ivanhurd You've failed to justify/substantiate any of your accusations, furthermore, you failed at defining what a top 40 dj (like yourself). If you consider my word choice "big words" you obviously have a limited vocabulary. Its quite obvious that you and this 14 year boy have little insight and lack a capacity for reason. In your pathetic defense, it is quite apparent that you're limited in insight and arguing w/ you is futile. and you call yourself a dj? a pathetic excuse for a job.

  • @birddogfreemann I said you 'try' to use big words. Do I really need to define what a top 40 DJ is? If you don't know, you really are a moron. I'll play your little game tho. A top 40 DJ is someone who plays...*gasp* current top 40 music. Wow, earth shattering. I never said DJing was my job either. If it was my job, I would be pretty happy about it. DJs can make quite a bit of money and have a great time doing it. So...job satisfaction and a nice paycheck, doesn't sound very pathetic at all.

  • @ivanhurd Notice how very selective you are at answering questions. But you still fail to see djztrip as a top40 dj. He plays it ALL. you say " a couple popular now songs" (a complete understatement), i gues you havent listened to his "music" enough. You use the word "job" and say you get PAID to play top 40, but you now imply that it isnt your job. Are you confused? Where is your logic? So, what is your "job", anyways? Not satisfied? Game? You are losing it. You have no argument. game over.

  • @birddogfreemann I'm very selective at answering questions because all you keep blabbing about is how much you hate ztrip and all that he stands for. I never once said it was my job, learn to read. I really don't care to answer any of your other questions because I don't feel the need to defend myself to you. I am a fan of ZTrip, I like the music that he plays and the way he plays it. That is all. I dare you to go outside and see what the sun looks like.

  • @ivanhurd You're incorrigible. Your punishment is the wooden cangue. You are deaf to warnings and your obstinacy is your misfortune. If you do not intend to defend your position, I suggest you avoid comment. You are easily amused and are under the spell of ztrip. isn't it obvious that your subjectivity has biased in your viewpoints. If you don't care to answer my questions, abort your mission. You are full of contradictions. Why do you like the music ztrip plays? The sun? I live in Arizona, fool

  • @birddogfreemann Because he plays good music, and mixes it well. That was easy. I like the sun because it's hot and it lights up the world, pretty awesome. What does you living in Arizona have to do with anything? I'm not easily amused, I'm pretty picky about what I listen to. If you must know, I'm almost 30 and have been listening to hip hop since about 1986 and prefer . I have been DJing for around 8 years, and play on vinyl and digital. Enough for you?

  • @ivanhurd by the way, please substantiate you comment regarding ztrip being "far from a top 40 dj".First off, he uses classic rock for his backbeat. Secondly, he combines popular rap music with such music. Third, he is a dj or disc jockey and extant term that is actually becoming obsolete with the advent of Serato. Why you say "he's far from a top 40 dj" is due to his "underground" origins in rap/hiphop music, however, now that he's popularized such music.

  • @ivanhurd case in point, playing m.i.a.'s paper planes. please counter and defend your position that he is "far from a top 40 dj". You have failed to connect the dots, you have failed to understand top 40 music, you have failed to understand. you are simply reacting. Without logic and/or reason. You, my friend have failed in your comment and I would suspect that such failure indicates how you live your life. My interest is in finding the truth. and you?

  • @birddogfreemann WHY DO U RANT EVERY DJ! GET A LIFE

  • @MusicMini11 (Why do u rant every dj!) Are you asking a question? or is it perhaps a rhetorical question? Your syntax is not well-constructed. Thank you for your infected interest. Please define what you mean by "life".

  • @birddogfreemann What the hell kind of acid are you on. Stop ranting djs. If you dont like our music. Dont listen to it. Us djs are FAMILY (In theory). So STFU and stop hating on us. Again if you dont like our music GO AWAY.

  • @MusicMini11 Acid? Why do you ask? Please argue logically and defend your position without the use of far-fetched, exaggerated attack mechanisms. "Our Music"? Now, you attempt to gain the influence of every dj as if such a majority could counter any argument of one individual. Plain and simple, I will "rant", "listen", and critique. I suggest you take your own advice. "Us djs are family", From what theory did you find such line of reasoning? You seem quite impassioned yourself.

  • @birddogfreemann Go fuck yourself! not one person wants to know what you say

  • @MusicMini11 Don't quit your day job, champ. Maybe take a class in Logic as your capacity for deductive reasoning is severely lacking. You couldnt argue

  • @birddogfreemann dude, im 14. I dont know how old you are, but you need to stfu go hate on fred or something.Go make some videos and see how much WORk it is. we put out videos because we want people to enjoy them. not rant THEM.

  • @MusicMini11 You're 14. Where did you learn such expressions as "stfu" and "go hate on fred or something". Your education is lacking. Is your mother aware of your limited english? Do you listen to your teacher? Do you go to school. Do you have a father? Do you act this way at home (using such language as "go fuck yourself" and "stfu")? Notice you usage of the plural "we". Speak for yourself. Your expectations regarding your videos exceeds your limitations and reality. But you have a 14 yr mind

  • @ivanhurd Let's recap your failure. FIrst, you defend ztrip using the old "hater" ploy. You assume that I seek popularity. Skills? Hustle? Your argument is strictly CONJECTURE (look it up). You imply jealousy (of ztrip). I do not envy his need for attention. It sounds that YOU MAY EMULATE HIM (by your defense). WHat DO YOU DEFEND, anyways? And why? Clue about djing? You need to reevaluate your understanding of (A) what you know of djing, (B) What importance you give to djing/ztrip.

  • @ivanhurd You sound like ztrip's little bitch. You envy his status, dont you? Your selective reasoning is going nowhere. what do you call yourself? do you "spin" records? do you have turntables? What do you listen to? Rap? How old are you? What era of rap music have YOU lived through? Why have you even "jumped into" this ztrip video, anyways? What do you really know about ztrip's history? Facts? (Don't go read wiki). How have you come to know anything abt ztrip?you grasp at straws.

  • @ivanhurd What music do you listen to?Just how far is ztrip from a top 40 dj? Why because he started out playing rap music (when rap music wasnt listened to by those who listen to his music now (fact)), probably like yourself. Rap music has become top 40, get it? do I need to explain? In the Urban genre of music, RAP music (or maybe YOU call it hiphop) is POPULAR MUSIC. Its sad that ztrip has funneled in guys like you who were not around when he started. You dont get shit.

  • @ivanhurd Take some time to formulate some answers to these questions. if you don't have much experience/knowledge about a topic, I suggest you invest sometime understanding what it is that you are speaking about. If you have failed to argue a simple point like understanding ztrip, I can only wonder how you live your life and to what capacity you really understand yourself and your social reality. You sound like a causality of commercial music. Enjoy your life.

  • its funny how, at one point ztrip bores the audience to the point that it requires ztrip to yell at the crowd, wake them out of their bored stupor that He created. Funny how djs will trick the audience into thinking he and his music are entertaining.

  • z, WHat the fuck does "lets Wind it up mean"? This guy says the stupid shit. Anything to pander to the public. He's caught in "the ring of fire". He made a pact with the Devil. God needed to knock you off abit with that little snowboard accident.

This guy is a Top 40 dj. He's on top of the dj game. But the higher you go, the higher you will fall. Just ask dj am.

  • @birddogfreemann how did AM fall? he was always high in the game and never lost his magic. just cause he died.

  • @xDJCRUZZZx Good question. My research, primarily, concerns ztrip. If a plane crash and subsequent death do not qualify for a "fall", what does? I'm not interested in AM only as a connection to ztrip in that ztrip replaced am at the palms. What is interesting is the "why" of his death.

  • @birddogfreemann ohhhhhhhh

  • @birddogfreemann LOL, his politics are funny. I remember when him, and emille were playing nitas hide away, and Zach used to wear a hat, that said anti-war. This was right around 9-11. The flyer actually was a characature of him, with the hat on, advertising anti-war. What a hypocrite! I guess his politics goes to the highest bidder. Radar was always the real raw talent in that crew, no doubt. Maximum respect Jason!

  • @threezerol944t Jason Belmont sold his soul to Red Bull ( a company run by an evil force). He tries to act all modest and shit but he too, craves attention. He sold out rap/scratch music to the masses via his classical compositions/playing at gammage. Yes, he carved out his niche. emile....now he teaches wannabe djs how to choose their dj names at scc. silly.

  • @birddogfreemann Hey now, I went to gammage to see him play. I would hardly call that selling out. It wasnt selling much of anything. Was hardly anyone even there. He did you push the boundaries of music, for the sake of progression, not money. If it was about money, I cant imagine much was made considering the place was near empty. Any way you look at it, Jason has always been cool to me, and was the real talent in the crew.

  • @threezerol944t He "sold" the dj thing to the mass, white upperclass (those who have the leisure to reside in classical concert halls. What is progression? Yes, it allowed his career to be bought and sold by Red Bull, his commerical sponsor. You missed the point. His talent was influenced by those who showed him the concept. In a sense, his expansion demonstrated greater talent.

  • @threezerol944t plain and simple, djs are lame human jukeboxes. these guys stole the art of scratching from the black culture who couldnt afford the equipment, records, and time off the work schedules. white djs stole the industry. I wish I never invested the amount of time I did listening to rap music and listening to guys like ztrip. waste of time, nothing to show for it. just watch, all those who deal with the devil will perish.

  • @birddogfreemann As a poor white kid who started breakin, in 84', I resent that comment. It would behoove you to know, it was never a purely black thing, any way you look at it. Sure a lot of Dj's are white, cause they could afford the gear, but I wouldnt say it was stolen.More to the point, it goes against the original philosphy of hip hop.Multi culturalism, was part of the reason for its existence early on.White people were involved since the beginning, in same cases even before the beginning

  • @threezerol944t Before there was "hiphop" there was rap music and a dj (unconventional in the sense that he used the turntable to scratch). There was no "philosophy", no "multiculturalism". It originated in the black ghetto (the turntable was a white invention). However, the utility was invented by the black. Yes, some puerto ricans participated. The economic force of white america turned the entire thing into a marketable commodity, what you call hiphop. Now, it is a white industry.

  • @threezerol944t so you were/are a poor white kid (i've heard this justification before). It all originated in the black urban ghetto. The white technological influence was reinvented.

  • @threezerol944t We've become morally degenerate (to the point that we've lost all spiritual grounding). And the entertainment industry is culpable, ztrip included. Evil has now camouflaged itself so well. You will reap what you sow and if ztrip, knowingly or unknowingly perpetrates evil, he will

  • @threezerol944t oh, start with robert johnson.

  • @threezerol944t start with robert johnson. i don't believe such deaths and the antecedent deals with satan for fame were coincident. long list of artists who asked satan for fame/fortune and subsequently suffered death and/or suffering quite unique in capacity. ztrip will fall, he's been marked. the real question is whether his current position was a result of "hard work" and "determination" plus timing OR the combination of the 3 plus a Satanic influence. At what point does one realize chance.

  • @birddogfreemann and fate are intertwined from a Creator. Satan was the creator's designated musical director before he overreached his power. And now, Lucifer directs the music from earth in attempt to obivate God's dominion. the turntables and 21st century dj culture is all a manifestation of Lucifer's doing. watch ztrip...you who has no faith except in yourself with perish. the history should speak for itself.

  • @birddogfreemann Your a wingnut! Where do you get the audacity to judge others, as if you know their fate. As if you are the decider of who will perish. Blaspheme. DJ culture is satans doing. LOL, your crazy. You neo "christians" are funny. Dont forget what your good book says.

  • @threezerol944t God judges, I just make observations. Read up on the devil's influence in music and its effects. The invention od the turntable for rap/scratching was invented in the ghetto (Satan dwells in the ghetto: poverty, crime, drugs, desperation, abuse). The turntable/dj resides in nightclubs, dark places where hedonistic pleasures/sin/ritual ceremony possess minds. Time will Tell. You fail to consider the facts and possibilities.

  • lol @ Ztrip haters. Sounds like a bunch of nobody wannabes that didn't get as popular as him because you didn't have the skills or the hustle.

  • @ivanhurd Hahaha, forever underground!

  • @ivanhurd No. I have no interest to djing. Popularity is for the insecure nor would I want a fan base to follow me. Sorry Pal, don't assume my critique due to inadequacies. Yeah, sure, his vast amount of different venue opportunities plus the opportunity to travel. But after awhile, the luster of plane travel wears off. It becomes just a job. I don't hustle nor try to impress anyone. I see through ztrip.

  • the daf punk was a huge failure

  • Oh yeah, Zach your not from LA!! Your from Phoenix, deal with it. Actually your not even from Phoenix, suburbanite.

  • Hes always been a pompous ass, who thought his shit dont stink before he was even popular. Hes not even from the hood. Hes an east valley kid, tempe bronks krew faggy bullshit. Jason(Radar) was always the real talent in that crew. Zach can scratch thats about it. He matches some beats clean in this vid, but its nothing complex. He never could mix. Im not familiar with uneasy listening, havent followed his shit in many years. His dj hero bs give whole new meaning to the term TOY!!

  • @threezerol944t Just to calrify, I dont recall, radar ever runnin with TBK, I was referring to Bombshelter DJ's. Phoenix is a funny place, everyone whos ever had real talent, either left us for LA, or burned out on meth. Sad but true.

  • Fuck you, and the fools who followed Bush.

  • You all seem to be missing the point here. It's a show for the troops morale. Anyone that puts Z-Trip down is clown shoes. Use your fucking head.

  • Too bad he has forgotten the underground Phoenix scene he came from. I used go to house parties he would play when he was just some new DJ. The rave scene made ztrip in the early days. Never shows any love. Reps LA now..weak.

  • @threezerol944t Your exactly right!! He forgot Hip Hop and everything else the culture stands for! He did forgot where he came from! He is greedy, self centered and the biggest biter i know in the dj world! He bit all my best blends! His head got bigger than his career! I never post comments but today i said fuck it! If you know the Uneasy Listening album than u know who i am!! He has the wool pulled over his fans eyes and it's really sad! He is far from humble!!! BELIEVE ME I KNOW!!

  • Just rewatched this. Z-Trip's the man no doubt about it.

  • the ring of fire remix isnt his

its team canada djs that he borrowed

djs do this all the time

    wake up

  • AM stole everything from Z-Trip including his logo. I have a Z-Trip shirt from 2001 and it's the AC/DC font, that AM started using in 2005. What a biter.

  • Thats Mean bro , did DJ AM get that burning ring of fire mash up from this fulla? Awesome

  • i was at the show in kuwait and it was great. RESPECT!!!!!

  • Fools, I have been involved with DJing and dance music for 9 years, I myself have been DJing for 5 years, I have seen many of the top DJs and producers in the world live, and Z Trip was the BEST, hands down, he blew me away. He does Live Mashups, he practically invented mashups, in one set he played hip hop, rock, breaks, house, drum n bass, reaggaton, and somehow was able to mix it all, while at the same time constantly doing turntable tricks etc.

  • Is it right to bring a DJ / Club show to the Middle East for a whole crowd full of guys and some girls?

I think if I was a person planning this I would have stuck solely with like a band, or performers instead of a DJ.

Not knocking what DJ ZTrip did, but I'm of the opinion that you'd get more enthusiasm out of U2, or a band performing. It would just suit the scenario more.

  • do some research

  • thanks for your useless advice, someone pointed that out 2 months ago xx

  • Z-Trip is good, everything sounds locked on and clean, but honestly, he didn't do anything in this video that I haven't seen or heard countless other DJ's do better.

I'm gonna keep searching YouTube for more Z-Trip videos to prove myself wrong.

  • thats what I've been doing...how the hell did this guy take first place DJTIMES?

  • thats because hes been doing it before those dick riders did

  • Rane should sort him out with a 57, no more fiddling with the keyboard when youre trying to spin

  • he's using one 05:48

  • so he is ! I never touch the mac when im using this, well maybe the occasional loop roll...

  • he is using a 57

  • Z-Trip is the man....He is a real turntableist and producer. Nuff said.

  • ztrip is a pioneer for sure.

but did i see/hear pre made mixes?

    2:59 ?

  • The pre-mixed stuff he has are white labels that he's mastered himself. If you catch him at a show where he has anywhere from 4 to 6 tables to play with, he'll spin them original, but when he's limited to 2 tables (traveling overseas and the like) he normally brings his white labels.

  • he definitely didn't make the johnny cash remix...

team canada dj's.....but theres still nothing wrong with playing it...

  • Yes - The Johnny cash pre made mix is from the group Team Canada (Ring of Fire).

  • mp3dog brings up a good point - why is the military there?

  • not a bad choice of tracks! u cant expect anything more from a crowd of soldiers dropped into a ring of fire with nothing but violence & death around. Its a ball & chain on your soul that music cant just unshackle immediately for all.

  • is that software Z's using? I'm into Traktor now myself, so...kudos Z!!! I know Jazzy Jay is onto that as well. if Mix Master Mike goes that way, then I've seen everything! the way he (MMM) scratch's, not sure if the control vinyl would keep up. Z-Trip Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pretty sure he uses Serrato.

  • dude ive seen a vid of mix master mike using serato lol

  • This is the best.

  • ok the johnny cash with the beats he stole from the team canada dj's, he didnt do any scratching on that, you can hear it on myspace

  • Everyone uses that breakbeat... It's not like a underground beat. Come on... Educate before talking trash.

  • hes not talkiing trash, it is a Team Canada remix...if you listen at 2:34 you hear the signature "Team Canada" play.

  • I dont think he stole it..On there myspace they give a shoutout to him using it

  • you fucking retard, all of hiphop is "stealing". It's called sampling you asshat, educate yourself.

  • biting

  • So Sick

  • First off, gotta give the guy props for having skills.

HOWEVER, he dragged out that "Ring of Fire" song for WAYYY too long. He should have just used it as a quick gimmick but instead, he totally over did it. The audience looked pretty bored for the most part (but then again, maybe Kuwait just isn't a very festive place to be in.

  • --------dope!!!----------

  • the crowd was kind of lost.

  • boring

  • zack is the coolest fuking guy u would ever meet and me doesnt have a big head at all

  • Not sure how the licensing on this show worked, but it would be great if I could get this on a CD.

  • z-trip, your an amazing dj. skillz, ideas, crowd moving, production etc.. i' must say that if i could i would be you !! i think i wont ever ever ever play for any army. (exept an'Imagine' vs 'kiling an arab' bootleg). next Z-trip tour : Poutine's troopers in Tchechenya, China's Tibet special forces, Lybia ? North Corea ? in the other hand, you give some fun to those guys that are 'just' there, in a very tough situation, of course.anyway, great job Z, as usual. eumm, do you like green that much ?

  • z-trip kicks ass and the sound is great so it a great video
