I pretty much used this video as a layout for my towers, and after a while i started losing a lot of cores, so i went back 20 levels, and switched a lot of my gun towers for concussion towers. it worked VERY well.

nice job, just got game yesterday and love it. it is interesting you are primarily using guns and it works well. is this because of cost to effectiveness ratio after considering upgrades?

Well I normally use Tesla's, Meteor's or Cannons over the Gun's but gun's are still great, especially for this achievement but only useful if you upgrade each one of them, even upgrading what you can (for whichever map) to yellow (first upgrade) will be very effective over it being just a green.

Meteor's are very powerful if you upgrade them twice, they do almost full in damage but cost a lot.

Play through the campaign. It is quite easy and not long at all. It is a few levels before the end.
