Thanks for an articulate and comprehensive review. I just bought a Copperhead after my wireless intellimouse quit on me. I think it's going to take a while to adjust to the new mouse, but once the adjustment is made, I think I'll wonder how I ever got by without it. I just wish I could have scored a blue one but settled for red. After seeing your review, I'm really psyched and can't wait till it arrives.
Awsome product and nice review. Cheers. If you want to know some nice macros for the razer products and other devices check out my channel. Thanks again
I have the copperhead and my problem is that when I raise 1cm mouse pointer continues to rotate and that bothers me others when playing and want to accommodate the mouse.
@CriticalGamingCG you dissed me too bud. and it only did this on my mouse pad for some reason but it stopped jerking when i used it on my plain wood desk. weird a mouse doesnt work on a mousepad.
i've seen on a couple of pictures that its translucent plastic glass on the mouse, can i take away the black plastic shit and then i can see that it's translucent plastic?
This doesn't have to be for gaming. I used to use a MX Revolution for work but when I bought one of these for my home PC it was so smooth and responsive I bought another one for work.
It looks a little silly but when it comes to feel the MX Revolution doesn't compare. The Logitech just looks good and has a lot of buttons. The Razer is actually a great mouse to use.
Can some 1 help me?! i got 1 problem when i going to do my settnings on my mouse it says when i press apply: no mouse detected. press okay to scan USB port agin or cancel to continue. (no settnings will be saved)
Instead of getting a Copperhead nowadays I would recommend a Diamondback 3G instead, which uses the same amazing optical sensor as the DeathAdder (Laser mice skip with fast swipes, bad for low sens). I really like the low profile, easy to hold/ambidextrous design of the Razer mice - my G5 is very comfortable to hold, but when swiping a lot with a low sens, is awkward to grip and makes my hand cramped up... but the Copperhead is just lightweight and smooth in all respects.
Ofc g5 and il tell u why the razer copperhead is very light and its very hard to aim with an light mouse if u want an great mouse choose the g5 he got the fabouls weigth system more progamble buttons mean to the editon 2 strong lazer eginge much more then the razer oh and anohter great gameing mouse its the habu gameing mouse read about him also ye its razer but also with the microsoft hardwares
i just got mine, but you know the buttons on the side, i realy dont know where i have to get my hands on it!, i always press the site buttons in when i want to hold on the mouse, but where you need to have you fingers? on the light on the site or what!, i think that my hands is to big to get in the side, but im just 14 old, so i should could!.. but, if you know what css is, so what is good to have the mouse dpi on?, and the mouse sense in the game:)? ty!
Copperhead, 2000 dpi. DB: 1800 dpi. CH got more light, the DB doenst got so much light at the sides, it just look like at the pictures on therazerstore. CH got a light in the razer symbol, that pulsates. DB = 49 eu. CH 69 eu.
Ok hey i got a question, i got a logitec G5 mouse and im thinking of getting a new mouse. So my choices are Razor Copperhead or a Logitech G9 mouse, i play counter-strike and lots of online shooting games and often for house to come... so im looking for a accurate mouse that has alot of grip but also is comfortable. BTW im using a steelseries QcK mousepad
the way you change the weight on the mouse is with the razer kit you can buy(dont know where) and its around 10 dollars or smth...and then you change the weight inside of it. Btw if you open it it loses varanty so think twice before you open it. The only thing i like about g5 and that copperhead doesnt have is the weight socket which you just clip in and its more easy and simple...but overall i like the razor better..nice review btw
Good review, and LOL about the dell scroll sound, I had a dell mouse for years and it was the most annoying shit ever. It sounded like I was scraping metal against concrete every time I wanted to scroll.
and i am getting along really fine and well with it,, im really happy with this mouse workz well :) no problemz,, duno why but i just feel like buying a new mouse ROFL :S...
i might consider this one because u did such a GREAT REVIEW!!!
Don't get me wrong, I loved the copperhead and the diamondback would have been great if not for the driver issues(not booting, firmware updates didn't help), but spending somewhere between $120-150 for two mice that couldn't last 2 years between them? Sorry, I think I will probably being going back to buy a new logitech...
I'm guessing right where it connects internally right at the mouse(not the usb port side of the cable). If the wire was sitting just right, it would work, but if you moved the mouse so it bent the cord at all, it would stop responding. Now I'm using my 6 year old logitech laser mouse(probably first gen). They just use cheap parts or have no quality control or something.
I have owned two Razer mice in the last year and they are both dead. First was the Diamondback plasma edition, which lasted about six months and the left clicker died. Second was the copperhead tempest blue and that one lasted almost a year before it started cutting in and out, I thought it was my computer on the fritz so I put up with it for a while and then ended up reformatting, to no avail. Then I figured out that it was the wire,
They're all optical mice. The only non-optical mouse that Razer made was it's original Boomslang ball mouse - Which was AWESOME. In fact I was lucky enough to pick up a Collector's Edition of the new Boomslang. I got number 291 out of 10,000. The best mouse ever.
Let see you do an better one. He just reviewing the material of the Mouse. I don't care how well he talk only if he give me information on the products.
ill own u in halo using my 4000 dpi razor lachesis btw i look forward to reviews from anyone on the lachesis (very good) and the diamond back (not bad)
try out the CREATIVE Gamer HD7600L mouse... its amazing
price: 15 dollars... wow...
sensitivity: 400, 800, 1600, or even 2400 DPI... and changing them is REALLY easy... same buttons as the copper head (minus the ambidexterity, sorry lefties =[ ), plus it has a sensitivity change switch and customizable FACEPLATES :D!!!
personaly i regret the day i bought this mouse because it costed me a fortune 100$ (europe)
and if i had to choose between the copperhead and any other mouse .. id choose the other mouse because i would save money!!!!! this mouse is a waste of money and fucking nervs
the best mouse ive ever played with is the g5 .. its not laggy , it responds perfectly , the cursor is fucking awesome and best of all ... it doesnt die on me!
ive compared the two with usb
the razer dies inevitabilly but the g5 is running great no dies!
the driver software isnt compatible with windows xp professional , or atleast thats what it says.
it says that if i continue with the instalation of the driver .. complications may occur that would make windows unstable or crash
third .. not before recently , it started dying on me , the lights are on but its stops responding to commands .. i have to restart the pc to make it work again ,!
i have on a steel pad qck+ AND THE CURSOR DOESNT GO WHERE YOU WANT IT IF THE WINDOWS OR THE GAME THAT YOURE RUNNING HAS pointer acceleration on .. try playing battlezone2 with this mouse ;) thrust me you wont be so happy anymore
not really g5 only has 1 side button so it isnt all that great i dont even think the weight things help much either and the G5 didnt get that high of a rating they called the weights a "useless" luxury =/
My Copper head is a peice of shit, I have a razer copper had mosue I use a Saeitek key bored USB elcipse III and I thought i might not have enough usb power or something it turns it off its self, stops in middle of games
i like that mouse....too bad i just bought one though :( o well i'll keep that mouse in mind for when i need a new mouse they don't last long anyways :)
Lol, my goodness. This is the review that made me buy the copperhead. Jeez I swear I've seen just about everything you've done before I knew your stuff. lol
Ok i am back and i have mine Chaos Green. The sensitivity of the mouse is Amazing. This holds A LOT of potential for Great playing. Btw you were right about the light tubes. They in fact do NOT provide discomfort but provides extra grip on the mouse if held in posture for example, lifting off mouse from the pad. It prevents your hands from slipping off the mouse due to occasional lifts. Well i have got a lot more to explore about it. Btw great job with the review.
With the website I run "Soft Hardware". We are able to do these reviews because companies like Razer send their products to us for evaluation. We are then able to give a gamers side of the spectrum review instead of these hyped up reviews other places give.
But the Copperhead I actually bought myself. And it was so good I decided to review it. :)
The MX518 is a great mouse. The only thing I am not into is how it is so fitted and the placement of the DPI buttons. The Copperhead to me looks much cooler and feels better to hold. I suggest you also look at my latest review of the Razer DeathAdder, you may find you like that one better as well. It has currently replaced my Copperhead but just shear tracking ability and supreme performance. You can find the link on my website or also here on my YouTube profile. Take care!
I'm having issues holding the mouse. The tube lighting around the mouse protrudes/sticks out which makes holding the mouse really awkward. Any suggestions on how to hold the mouse comfortably?
I suggest resting the index and middle finger on your hand titled in somewhat of a vertical position. And letting the thumb rest comfortably at the side of the mouse on the lower buttons. Otherwise just try and get the best feel you can for the mouse. It is a very comfortable design it just takes some getting used to. :)
I totally understand. This was one of our first reviews. So check out some of the newer ones as we have improved and are still growing, in the review process. Thanks a bunch for the kind words and the encouragement. :)
Unfortunately that cannot be done. Like all mice the mouse buttons on the side are pre-configured. You can however change those assignments within the Razer Copperhead's control panel to DPI up and down or whichever of the listed options they have pre-programmed into the mouse.
i am looking to buy this mouse because right now i got a mx518 i tryed getting used to it but not working for me and now after all u explained to me about the razer i am now more confident on buying it great video it helped a lot thxx
Best review ive seen for this product, you really described and showed this product very well and gave me a better idea about it, cleared up some doubts I had - I will look forward to my anarchy red in a week =D.

BubbaDingo 4 years ago
because if you got a pc that doesn't make a lot of sound, then it's important

G5 is better.
oleedee 4 years ago
not really g5 only has 1 side button so it isnt all that great i dont even think the weight things help much either and the G5 didnt get that high of a rating they called the weights a "useless" luxury =/

Thanks man. Glad your liking it. :)

so do you have to buy all this stuff you review or are you like sponsored by razer?
i have the tempest blue also :)
prOgrenadier 5 years ago
With the website I run "Soft Hardware". We are able to do these reviews because companies like Razer send their products to us for evaluation. We are then able to give a gamers side of the spectrum review instead of these hyped up reviews other places give.
But the Copperhead I actually bought myself. And it was so good I decided to review it. :)
TheInfiniteOne 5 years ago
ya it pwns, lol i wish i got free gamer equipment too :(

dudes i have an mx518 which 1 is better razer or logitec mx518 plz say need mouse urgently thx guyz an da gaming community rox even da noobs:0 :)
helintroy 5 years ago
The MX518 is a great mouse. The only thing I am not into is how it is so fitted and the placement of the DPI buttons. The Copperhead to me looks much cooler and feels better to hold. I suggest you also look at my latest review of the Razer DeathAdder, you may find you like that one better as well. It has currently replaced my Copperhead but just shear tracking ability and supreme performance. You can find the link on my website or also here on my YouTube profile. Take care!

"the mouse itself can get dirty. The point is you wash your hands." Funny!! (2:00)
tw1tch09 5 years ago
It is the Razer logo plus the mouse does. :) It fades in and out.
TheInfiniteOne 5 years ago
nice mouse...too bad your mouse-pad sucks monkey ballz!

Haha thanks buddy. Appreciate the great feedback :)

I'm having issues holding the mouse. The tube lighting around the mouse protrudes/sticks out which makes holding the mouse really awkward. Any suggestions on how to hold the mouse comfortably?
RagingAzure1987 5 years ago
I suggest resting the index and middle finger on your hand titled in somewhat of a vertical position. And letting the thumb rest comfortably at the side of the mouse on the lower buttons. Otherwise just try and get the best feel you can for the mouse. It is a very comfortable design it just takes some getting used to. :)
TheInfiniteOne 5 years ago
I totally understand. This was one of our first reviews. So check out some of the newer ones as we have improved and are still growing, in the review process. Thanks a bunch for the kind words and the encouragement. :)
TheInfiniteOne 5 years ago
can you make the side buttons so it "forward" "backward" so you can change songs on "Windows Media Player"
H3ckt1K 5 years ago
Unfortunately that cannot be done. Like all mice the mouse buttons on the side are pre-configured. You can however change those assignments within the Razer Copperhead's control panel to DPI up and down or whichever of the listed options they have pre-programmed into the mouse.
