I do NOT hold pitchblende in my hand.
The mineral is closed in a plastic pouch.
The distance to my finger tips is nearly 10 cm. Compare the counts/minute when the same distance is between the mineral and the counter.

Kein uranium sondern Uraninit und das wird als Pechblende bezeichnet oder im englischen als pitchblend. Es ist legal und du kannst es bei Ebay kaufen.

Did you do it yourself from separate materials (obviously the calculator part, yes).

CPM stands for "Counts Per Minute". Similar to "DPM" (disintegrations per minute), CPM is used to measure how potent the radioactivity is.
