ESPECIALLY the Palitoy clips. The narrator is amazing. the best ones are the speeder bike and scout walker commercials...particularly entertaining for the script and seriousness with which the voiceover is executed. ok, back to my loser cave.

Here's a useless bit of Star Wars trivia for you:

George Lucas was originally a film editor and one day as he was editing some film or other, someone said to him, "Hey George, get me R2-D2", meaning "get me reel number 2 from drawer number 2", but the short form was R2-D2. George liked the sound of the term and years later used it in Star Wars.

@rogueJ I think that the back story was essentially a mistake made by Kenner when they were packaging and marketing the Zuckuss figure.

Obviously this figure is 4-LOM because he is a droid and all droids in Star Wars have numbers and letters in their names.

Zuckuss on the other hand was an alien creature that wore breathing eqipment, but he looked very similar to 4-LOM and hence the confusion created at Kenner.

I assume Kenner used Luke Hoth b/c that was the more recent figure and they wanted to push the new version.

However, in Kenner's ad for Yoda, they seemed determined to be as "movie accurate" as possible b/c they used Luke X-Wing when he and R2 first arrive on Dagobah (as was the case in the film) instead of the more recent Luke Bespin figure.

Hoth Luke was one of the best figures of the vintage line. Other good ones: Bespin Han, Bespin Luke, Jedi Luke, General Lando, Boba Fett, Bib Fortuna, Endor Han, Emperor's Royal Guard, Bossk, Weequay and Jabba (although he was more of a playset).

The silver bug eyed bounty hunter was Zuckuss and the tan one with the fabric cloak was 4-Lom. The latter was only available through mail order, I think. My fave, however, was Bossk.

Back then, Kenner incorrectly called Zuckuss "4-LOM" and vice versa - the mistake was only corrected in the 90's, in the POTF2 collection onwards.
