nice catch on the friendly crew of that last train... light engine move... you can hear the 2 honks they usually give railfans just before the crossing and then an extra honk or 2 after (:
Nice grab on the Q436 dude, I havn't seen a single one since I've been railfanning the B&A East End these past few months, must not get out of Selkirk until noon which would put it over this part of the B&A late. Wonder why the AC6000 and SD70MAC went west? The 3 other light units must have been the Q264 power, but I have no idea what any power move west could have been, unless it was the Q293's power going west to Worcester?? Not sure, cool video though, love the detector.
I got 4, 5 and maybe sometimes even 6 trains in an hour once up there. I go and rest for a few minutes and BLAMO, there's another one, ding, ding, ding, ding, lol.
I used to always love going/heading up there/here to watch trains and video tape them, I also love those railroad crossings as well. Thanks so much for posting this on here for us.
This is what I hear all day and night, but I love it. Last night the freights just kept coming. You can just about see my house in these videos. It is a great spot, but I actually got kicked out by a cop trying to film videos there, trespassing once you go across the tracks type of thing.
It's Right On Route 30 In North Grafton, MA. One Thing Though. Only Go There On Week Days, And Have a MBTA Time Table. And a Scanner (If You Have One) I Got There, At 10:00 Am.
If I ever get the chance, I'd love to come out there to your neck of the woods, Cory, and film trains w/you. You just know the best spots to go to. FANTASTIC!! **********
You're right! I live on the Lowell Line and the trains run out of the North. Palmer is on the Worcester Line which runs out of the South. That was a nice horn.
Then again, I've hardly heard the horn on the Lowell Line. Medford (West Medford Station) is a QZ. No horns. However, near Target and Wellington Station and such, they are allowed to blow their horns. (I beleive at two crossings behind the Home Depot, there.)
It's crazy! In Weymouth & Braintree the Plymouth/Kingston line trains blow their horns but the Greenbush line trains, on the other side of the cities, can't. Ban the quiet zones!
I hate to take over Cory's video comments here, however, I think that Quiet Zones are a hazard to the public safety. For those few that complain about the horns.. I have a tip. "Move away from the tracks." Plain and simple.

what 's the name of the song at 5:45?
I learned this song in Chinese lyrics, and I have never heard of it in English.

But then again, railfanning is just like fishing, you never really know what you are going to get.

Do you mean no bells at the crossings? Actually there still are bells if that is what you mean, I hear them all the time from my house.
