Got the education, degree etc., had the V.I.P. career. Then, I became disabled. Had to retire very young. What saves me is my dogs. Regardless of how lousy I feel and how much I'd like to crawl back into bed and stay there, they are my first priority. They need to be fed, walked, groomed, played with, etc. My girls have been lifesavers.
Every one who this applies to has two things, Human Lemon Syndrome and a Palatible Mind. We all have the ability to survive but the way we know rarely gives us any oppertunity to use them, so the HLS in all of us makes us fuck shit up all the time so we can put what we know to use for once. The songs will work because our minds obsorb things more then they should which is why we find it easyer to stare at a wall then to do something active.
Thanks for posting this video, Krissie. The advice was exactly what I needed to hear right now - I'm getting so lazy and needed something to snap me out of it. Tomorrow will be my fresh start! :)

Ok, I posted a comment before about decorating my son's bedroom. I didn't get it done by the deadline I had set myself but I've worked hard on it every day until it was done and it is now done, he loves and I love it, it's perfect so I'm glad I didn't rush it!

quick question though...what is "Procrastination"?? can't find my dictionary and on "google" it's translated into ""Procrastination"^^ could any one help me out here please??
Gotta love those fortune cookies. I, actually, am in the same exact boat as you are (were). And you know what? About a few days ago before I watched this video I told myself I was ready for a new beginning; a metamorphisis...and this video is a sign that I need to get started. Lol. I'm a writer...and I feel like a loser laying around all day and I never get any chapters written at all...anyway~ thanks for the boost. :) :) That's good that you are taking the practice tests. You go girl! :)
Don't worry about the driver's license thing. You'll do fine, just keep on practicing. Look if my mother can get her license...ANYONE can! LOL She doesn't even know how to use the remote control and she passed her road test (in an automatic car though).
But good luck and keep focused. Take it day to day.
Krissie, you have a site now so that is something. I've recently been coping with grief over the loss of someone for whom I felt real emotions. This person wasn't a family member or a loved one. She was "a friend at a distance". She lived one town over. I had affection for her and never told her. I felt very much like you did before your posting. I checked into a hospital and saw someone because I didn't want to dishonor her. I will continue to do so. Don't procrastinate on love. Thanks again.
u doo something krissie...u change lifes with your wisdom...ok let me tell u a story...i found out that my ex cheated on me with a good friend and she slept with him.you know whats the ironic part..when i found out i couldent stop laughing and not because i didnt lvoe her..because you showed people how life is simple.u basicly saved my life:))
Krissie I know you mentioned before you are a person who lives in the now, I just wanted to let you know that I think you are really talented. Have you ever thought of auditioning for American Idol? I know it sounds cliche, but I have a feeling you can make it. You have everything and I can see your solo project really taking off from it.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I was in a rut where I would be around the house just hanging out when I started to feel the way you did a few days ago. I started on working on getting in better shape which led to me feeling good about myself and now I am very close on getting a job. Your very right about little steps. I wish you luck on the math section which I remember sucked and other than check book stuff I really don't use much math and as for algebra never. Great video.
Good video! I'm a seamstress & work from home-I set up a routine so I don't allow myself to get in a rut. My husband travels, so it's just my daughter, my dogs and me most of the time! It would be easy to say, "I'll do it later", but when later gets there, you find another excuse to put it off. I make sure try to meet the goals I set for myself so I don't get in a rut. Good for you for taking the steps to make a routine, get your GED & license! Good luck with everything!!
Very enlightening...seems very helpful for someone in that situation. I know I've been there. Haven't we all? Great video, but one comment I couldn't keep to myself: How the hell are you supposed to avoid the television, when it's right there by your bed? I can imagine that it's some exercise to resist temptation, perhaps? Haha. I dunno. Looking forward to more awesome videos, Kris! :)
The most important thing is to believe you can do it - envision it in your head. Pay no mind to doubts or negative thoughts. I really believe in the power of thought, and by having a positive mentality each and everyday -- you are putting that out there in the universe.
Also fear is another thing. Don't be afraid of success or stepping out of your comfort zone. We come into this planet, and we can either choose to be afraid or choose to be educated which will help us evolve.
Hey, I am 25 and I JUST got my license, don't be so hard on yourself. I just want you to know from a fellow procrastinator that there is hope. Think about how good you will feel once you reach your goals. And about that GED girl, you are so fucking smart!! You owe it to yourself.
what you said hit home hard. I, too, have a fear of driving and am yet to get my GED. There are so many things I want to get done but I put them off. What you said woke me up a bit. thanks for this video, kid.
This video was really inspiring. There's a lot of things I want to do with my life, but I'm not paving the way for any of it to happen. I'm gonna try this out! Even though I'm only fourteen I still need to start chasing after the things I want out of life when I'm older. Thanks for the video, it really inspired me! =]
My story is like yours in terms of not driving. I got my permit years ago, but couldn't get the actual license, because I didn't have the money. Now that I'm working from home with six different programs, earning more than what my full time job paid out, I'm starting to see the results from the responsibility I took to make my life possible. My procrastination was being afraid to move forward and not achieve success through my own terms. Like many, fear held me back from taking the next step.
All of your videos are so inspirational! They always have a different message, you get your points across so well and your views actually make alot of sense! I am the same as you, I wake up and just let the days pass. Well I have been living in my own home with my partner and 18 month old son now for almost 9 months and we're still not fully sorted with the decorating - I am determined to get my son's bedroom done by WEDNESDAY...that's tidying, decorating, laying carpet, arranging it nicely, etc
This has to be one of the most inspirational videos i have seen in a long time. I am in the same boat as you, no GED. I get depressed because i feel like im not living my life, its just wasting away. I really think you have a good idea and im going to try it out. I am gonna do like you with the practice GED tests but I have to think of the other two :]. You seem rather happy, or atleast content, and i am happy you are! (you have an amzing voice btw) so yea thanks alot! <3
me too i got to figure something out to stop me from doing it , it is like a up and down roller coaster , and it changes dailey some times i am on top of shit and i have tried the routine thing and my life is so chaotic , i crave structer though ,
