What my perception about being a Sikh is that SIKH means Learner, a disciple. Any person who learns is a Sikh. Sikh was the term given to people of India who followed teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and they were all, Hindus, Muslims, Budh , Jain. So Sikhism had a diverse range.
