If i recall correctly (and i may very well not XD)

Fenrir was a giant hound who was destroying everything in the realm of the gods

there was one god that he trusted (i think he raised him)

eventually the gods asked the gnomes if they could make a chain that could hold him

of course, being super awesome special gnomes, they did.

the one god that fenrir trusted held him as the other gods tied him to... something :D

I think the problem with him wasn't being badly cast; It's that the script didn't give him anywhere near as much as they should have (i.e. his creepy dialogue exchange with Dumbledore right before the latter's death from the book).

It really sucks how in the Half-blood prince movie they take out all Greyback's lines. I hope in the 7th they have the snaggers scene were they take harry, because he needs the spot-light for some time.
