when i first heard about him, i couldn't believe that extremely surreal scenario, and then watched the documentary, "the killer whale called luna".it really reminds us that we're living in a unique world...

R.I.P sweet and adorable LUNA (B:1999-09-19 D:2006-03-10) I saw a documentary about that killer whale and i've cried and still very angry about the way he died 4½ year ago. Now his having fun with all the humans in PARADISE. Big KISSES to you LUNA :) X4

This Orca was a different Orca. Only human EGO, dissociated, constipated emotionaly and psychologicaly will never be able to create such a bond with an animal such as the one Luna had with humans! who loved him! May Luna's Sacred Spirit rest in peace.

Thanks for all the Luna footage, Orcagirl! I live in Texas and sadly, I hadn't heard Luna's story until after his death. I wish I could have seen him (or any wild orca for that matter) in real life! He was a beautiful boy and touched many lives I'm sure

If I saw Luna for the first time, wanting to interact with me, there's nothing that would have been able to stop me from jumping in that water with him. Just so he could have some company for a little while. Another creature to interact with. Bless his heart.

lol i feel the same way, he sought human attention, I say it should have been given to him, just as long as it was say monitored that it wouldnt get out of hand if you know what I mean. All those marine biologists said avoiding him was best for him, yet they played with him all the time

These images will always make me cry. Like a dog in traffic, I was always afraid for her. She was an open soul. Please Google Luna Orca if you would like to know who she was. In my opinion she was a victim of our society and the likes of her may never be seen again. God willing!

Poor Luna/L98 i cant believe he died! There is another whale named Springer and she has the same story she was seperated from her famliy, and played around boats, got sick, and she was only 2 or 3 years old! But luckily she was put back with her famliy and her aunt adopted her. Luna kind of has the same story but he died.

Even though everybody knew he might get hurt or killed someday because of his friendliness, it was still a big shock to me when it happened. I miss running to the beach when someone would say they'd seen him and just missing him. I wish I would've seen him at least once. This video is a beautiful tribute. :)

plent of people interacted with him throughout his whole life. for safety reasons, people were encouraged not to. if he was to live as a wild animal, the amout of human interaction needed to be minimalized... although as we see now, his fate amounted to his death.
