@whiterabbitjohn none of these devices do what is claimed - they're a waste of money as you don't even have switchable band pass filters. They detect anything giving off a signal, from the oscillator in a radio to someone using the internet with an RF dongle. They don't select bands or filter out known frequencies.
It's a cheap RF probe, google for how to make your own. The only fancy bit is the case and a few lights. They didn't even work in the demo either!!!!!
it depends on the signal. Most wireless devices yes 3-5 feet away you would still get some reading. at 10 feet a small device would not set it off.

Yea when your right next to it, what if some one is waering a wirerless bug in the same room or 3-10 feet away from ya?
