I don't care if it's unpopular, I love Perry more than Porl. Yes, Porl was there for my favorite albums but I like Perry's style much more. New Porl is a wandering mess and I wholly agree--he overplayed anything he did and that only worked well for a few tracks.

i know it's unpopular to say, but i'm kind of glad that Porl doesn't play with them anymore. i have a feeling that he spoiled everything with his "too much" guitar playing style. you know what I mean...and bringing back keyboards is the best decision Roberd could ever make :)

It is incredible to me that even when The Cure is dusting off old records live, it doesn’t sound old or outdated, in fact it sounds fresh and very, well, alternative, for a lack of a better word. Even when the likes of Bono and Michael Stipe have been watered down and filtered up by mainstream success, Robert Smith comes through like the punk sister that never grows old to spark up your dormant inner radical.

Personally I think the octaves are better. Maybe not on this recording, but live it was far superior.

Simon had duel cabinets, one channel going either side of the theatre, and must've had some pan thing going on, because it seriously sounded nice and "surrounded" with the lows and the highs almost separate. couldn't care less if the notes were higher, sounded brilliant.

Him and roberts sound was phenomenal in person this time. A breathe of fresh air since the last few years of schecters.

So my taste is factually wrong. Opinions about what is "best" in music falls into the subjective category. Maybe I should have used the word favourite. Or am I factually wrong because Lol couldn't deal with the drums in LGTB? Or because I think his drumming was good in splintered and hanging garden in the concerts I have from the 14 explicit moments tour? I have the tapes and it sounds good to my ears. Andy and Boris were better drummers but Lol drummed on 3 great albums.

In my humble opinion the 3 best albums are 17 seconds, faith, and pornography, all of which Laurence played drums on. Its just a matter of opinion. Perhaps your favourites are kiss me, desintegration, and wish, and there is nothing wrong with that. All the albums are great. Laurence often doesn't get the credit he deserves as a drummer just because he famously had difficulty with the 1983 pop songs but listen to him playing splintered or hanging garden on 1982 tour.
