  • festival was shit without the keyboard , i know ..i went . so glad it's back ! thanks roby .

  • it´s very nice, wonderful video and good quality !!!!

    thanks a lot

  • I don't care if it's unpopular, I love Perry more than Porl. Yes, Porl was there for my favorite albums but I like Perry's style much more. New Porl is a wandering mess and I wholly agree--he overplayed anything he did and that only worked well for a few tracks.

  • i know it's unpopular to say, but i'm kind of glad that Porl doesn't play with them anymore. i have a feeling that he spoiled everything with his "too much" guitar playing style. you know what I mean...and bringing back keyboards is the best decision Roberd could ever make :)

  • Perfect.

  • I will always love The Cure, just went to their concert last week 11/22/11 in LA & fell in love with Robert Smith all over again, hes amazing

  • love it

  • what a great picture quality, thank you for posting.

  • What an amazing song that just takes your spirit hostage for 6 minutes... Anotehr song that closely matches this (but not quite) is Fever Ray's Coconut (2006). Youtube it.

  • LAURENCE!!! GREAT!!! WELCOME AGAIN TO THE CURE!!!! YOU ARE GREAT!!!

  • Can someone tell me why Boris won't return to the band, please.

  • Robert... his voice... sounds exactly like the album version!... amazing!

  • great tolhurst

  • Wow...can't believe they played this live recently. Lucky people!

  • I have the notion that The Cure know that people really just want to hear the old stuff. Hell thats all I'd want to hear if I saw them.

  • Why the heck I can go 3 or 6month without listening to The Cure and as soon as I hear their music I fall in love with the sounds all over like when I was 14 years old again? wow! AMAZING

  • WOW wow wow... INCREDIBLE! :D I have such a grin on my face it's ridiculous. Roger... !

  • ROGER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Fair Play to Laurence.....Simon I could watch your hands playing your bass forever....e14 all cats are gray, very caohtic LORD....Im running around E1 and E14 and Stockewell with the ONE BLOOD book in my hands and the Amnesty International Irish cotton bag under my arm..Ta Jason . Best The Cure albums....The one to come

  • I want to see them soon!!!!! x3

  • Robert is full of botox

  • @ApocalypseForFree that's pretty harsh. Botox? Robert Smith? No way. It simply looks like he's lost a few lbs, which we all need to do from time to time...

  • absolute agree, it´s always happen with The Cure, makes their old songs sounds better and better, have you ever heard drowning man during a festival in 2003? an absolute beauty

  • It is incredible to me that even when The Cure is dusting off old records live, it doesn’t sound old or outdated, in fact it sounds fresh and very, well, alternative, for a lack of a better word. Even when the likes of Bono and Michael Stipe have been watered down and filtered up by mainstream success, Robert Smith comes through like the punk sister that never grows old to spark up your dormant inner radical.

  • It's very nice to see Lol and Roger back on stage, but where is Porl?

  • WOW, TOLHURST!!!

  • Simon was surprised with these great new arrangements that give you a touch more profound and elegant to the song, without a doubt a brilliant musical arrangement, that far from distorting the original magnifies even more.

  • One of the bets versions I ever heard of this song, a master piece no doubt, with Lol playing strings, original member of The Cure since 1979, who finally after many misunderstanding with Smith, get back to delight the audience with the last original chord of this song, …”a single note rings on and on and on”.

  • espetacular,Cure com teclados e a velha atmosfera sombria está de volta :)

  • Boris Williams had better drum sound!

  • it s tolhurst on the right ?

  • @dubberland Yes! Lawrence Tolhurst played with them!

  • the best song for me of all the times

  • @dubberland same x me

  • OMG OMG, I am drooling, I wish I were there! Such a miracle, Laurence and Robert on the same stage (And simon)? wow!

  • OMG OMG, I am drooling, I wish I were there!

  • great Jason

  • one of the best songs they have ever written... (imho)

  • Classic Cure; great video!

  • Personally I think the octaves are better. Maybe not on this recording, but live it was far superior.

Simon had duel cabinets, one channel going either side of the theatre, and must've had some pan thing going on, because it seriously sounded nice and "surrounded" with the lows and the highs almost separate. couldn't care less if the notes were higher, sounded brilliant.

Him and roberts sound was phenomenal in person this time. A breathe of fresh air since the last few years of schecters.

  • @towerblockrock

Didn't know they played it in the mid noughties. I saw them play it a couple of times on the dream tour. Which concerts from the mid noughties are you referring to?

  • Amazing

  • Out standing.

  • is great to wake up, go to the computer after breakfast, and being completely blowned away by this timeless song. Nice way to start a new day.

    God save The Cure.

  • I was at the first night, he did the note right there, so guaranteed my versions on the video, phew.

  • lol screwed up that last note... great song was so blessed to be at this show, best nights!

  • ty jason for not killing this with the cymbols!!! Robert thanks once again for pouring your emotions and heart out in a song!!!

  • @strangegirl421 yes! we are fortunate for not hearing him abusing the poor cymbals this time :)

  • @gnzvideos I don't like octaves Simon is playing on the bass. Not as good as the version The Cure played in the mid noughties.

  • @towerblockrock yeah I did noticed that too... the more minimal and economic playing would have sounded better.

  • @gnzvideos

is this not the original bass line, or does it?

  • @curelove29 nop. he's changed it a little adding some extra notes

  • Brilliant! Amazing performance! So glad to see them all looking really good. I dare say Robert looks even younger than some 10 years ago...:-)

  • Thanks for the shares Fuji!!!

  • @towerblockrock

So my taste is factually wrong. Opinions about what is "best" in music falls into the subjective category. Maybe I should have used the word favourite. Or am I factually wrong because Lol couldn't deal with the drums in LGTB? Or because I think his drumming was good in splintered and hanging garden in the concerts I have from the 14 explicit moments tour? I have the tapes and it sounds good to my ears. Andy and Boris were better drummers but Lol drummed on 3 great albums.

  • @rothgarmcwilliam Boris was our best drummer (imo)

    in every way.

    Anyway,i 'm glad to see Lol's back,even for once,after all those years.

& Roger of course done his job really well,at both nights.

    :)

  • @jarlathsometimes

totally agree with that divine comment bogman.

    bogman2inrome

  • Awesome video and awesome interpretation. Chills down my spine.

    The Cure Forever

  • seeing this kinda makes me realize that i've been really missing the keyboards these last few years. The 4Tour was amazing, don't get me wrong, but they sound even better in the footage from Australia that's come out so far.

  • @towerblockrock

In my humble opinion the 3 best albums are 17 seconds, faith, and pornography, all of which Laurence played drums on. Its just a matter of opinion. Perhaps your favourites are kiss me, desintegration, and wish, and there is nothing wrong with that. All the albums are great. Laurence often doesn't get the credit he deserves as a drummer just because he famously had difficulty with the 1983 pop songs but listen to him playing splintered or hanging garden on 1982 tour.

  • @rothgarmcwilliam Totally agreed with you. And remember that he also wrote the lyrics for "All cats are grey". Lol is part of the origin of The Cure ´s sound, without any kind of doubt. He will be always have my admiration and my respect.

  • @rothgarmcwilliam There's *nothing* you kiddiwinks can tell me about The Cure. Sorry.

  • @rothgarmcwilliam It's not Laurence thats the common demominator, it's Simon on bass. When Simon wasn't there...they weren't the Cure..

  • @rothgarmcwilliam : The Head On The Door, was off the heezy too.

  • Good picture quality. Like the footage of Robert looking kind of coy.

  • Just perfect. Reminds me of when I fell in love with the Cure. Those days seem so long ago. I miss the pre wish days of the cure.

  • What type of camera were you using?

The sound is great and it's sharp!

Simon looked to be in pain while he played hehe

  • Divine!!!

  • Awesome to see Lol there. I wonder if his keys are still colour-coded after all these years!

  • @clveitchtuber They fucking should be!

  • I have listened to the audios of both nights and Lol hit the same key. So that leads me to think that is not an error but a new 'arrangement' for the song :)

  • @dwnunder90 It's Lol. So it's a mistake.

  • @dwnunder90 @dwnunder90 you may listen to Day 1 again watch?v=WlAy3cLp-O4

  • @dwnunder90 noo I think he screwed up the second night only

  • we can forgive Lol anything, nevermind this little mistake. He played drums on the Cure's 3 best albums.

  • @rothgarmcwilliam No he didnt.

  • GOOOD LOL!

    WE LOVE YOU!

NO MATTER YOUR LITTLE ERROR AT THE END HAHA!

WE NEED LOL AGAIN IN THE BAND!

  • I love Lol Tolhurst!

  • Extraordinaire le Jean-Claude Dus de Cure, Lol, we love you :-)
