  • There are lots of false prophets out there. I think one of the worst is Steve Munsey, who hops from show to show with his numerical formulas helping people to compute how much money to send in as their "offering". He and Benny Hinn promised folks that they would personally carry offerings to Jerusalem and place them on the altar. Munsey usually takes sin offering quotes from the OT, but doesn't mention the sin part. Hebrews 10:12 -14

  • 2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {to: or, by}

    4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    Robertson, Hinn and the Tulsa crowd are hirelings, but believers are God's equipped ambassadors in the earth.

  • @11zorro111 God does give power to His true believers. The false prophets such as the Word-Faith TV preachers are described in Matthew 7:21 ff, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingsom of heaven: but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? ... I never knew you: depart from me ...".

  • @CAnswersTV Let's not throw the baby out too, though. We are not gods, however, if we do justice and love mercy and walk humbly, and weed and plow and break up the hardpan of our hearts, giving the Word a chance to grow we can do powerful things in this earth. Jesus said that we would do greater things than even He did, but He also said that we would do the same works that He did. But you're right the Tulsa crowd is waaaay off.

    John 10:12 & 13

  • John 14:11Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father's name convince you.] 12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
