Watched the whole game run from start to end in one go, loved it. But I actually watched this run before, a long time ago when I was playing MGS4 a lot. But now a couple of days ago I stumbled across my MGS4 and it woke up some nostalgic memories, so I had to re-play this incredible game, and then when I was done I remembered this awesome speed run, thanks for an awesome speed run of an awesome game, very appreciated!

I wonder if I'd be able to do this... Probably not as fast, but there's a lot of good techniques useful for getting a fast time. I don't think it's necessary to use the rhythm method as much as in the video to get a fast enough time, though it's perfect for the first phase.

I find this fight extremely frustrating! the 3rd phase really makes me hate it, and mgs3 aswell!

I'm playing on extreme and whenever i get to phase 3 he just wipes the floor with me. I can't get many hits in, he just cqcs me. That choking move takes half my hp. How do i remove the choke hold? i flick the left stick from left to right but that doesn't appear to do ANYTHING.

is there any cheesy trick to this, something easy, i'm not looking for speedruns, i just wanna pass the battle!

Keep throwing punches & dodging. This will limit his chances to catch you in the choke hold. Try to make Liquid come to you so he walks into your attacks.

Fight glitch? There is no glitch. If you mean the continous punching, then you need to double tap the R1 button in a rhythm with a slight delay after 2 taps. This prevents the kick coming out too. Double tap R1, pause, double tap R1, pause etc. The rhythm varies in each phase.

New Game No Save No Damage? Act 2's APC escape & Act 3's bike chase would make that task considerably difficult. There is a great deal of randomness in some instances throughout the game. I will not say it's impossible though. Chances are it would take an enormous amount of dedication that very few will be willing to devote the time.

MGS2? Most of the great work has been done with that. It doesn't appeal to me to copy more than I can create in a speedrun.

I suppose you dont get the predictable guards in MGS2 where you can run by them and they wont even notice xD. I geuss its more enjoyable finding routes than it is copying the ones already out there, but i guess that competing against the times by Take-Chan and AdnanKauser would get you hyped up to do it :) well atleast for me.

MGS2 doesn't contain as much randomness as MGS4 or MGS3 for that matter. That doesn't detract from the skill involved though! Yes. It's far more enjoyable to create rather than imitate. That idea prevents me from competing on the older games. Don't forget Anonymityhope! :)

True. MGS4 New Game BBE Speedruns hadn't really been 'pushed' to the limits. That was enough incentive for me to dedicate the time to produce this run.

I still find it hard to leave the game alone. Especially as I now know I can go even faster in a New Game BBE. You'll probably still see more MGS4 vids from me. :)

It appears you've hit your save limit. You can only have a limited number of saves. It will stop creating new save files & just overwrite your last save. (The save question begins on 'No' though, so you have a chance to stop the overwrite)

It would all depend upon how much I was pleased with the run. A fast No Save in MGS4 is quite an undertaking. Lots of planning & time investment is needed. There is so much randomness, that it is highly likely that things will not go according to plan when I want it to.

Any time under 2:03:00 would be great. Act install times total 9 mins excluding Act 1, which would be installed before the start. Plus just over 13 mins added for no Resistance Trick.

A long time. I began in mid-February. I wanted to take the time to explore many different methods & to test them extensively. I knew that the more time I spent on it, then the better the results would be. I didn't want to do anything less. I only spent a month on my old Clear Game run last year & knew I should of spent far more time testing then. I wasn't going to have the same regret this time. I could've spent even longer though. If I had, I'm sure my time would be 1:38:XX.
